Mikey’s POV

“Shit, It’s fucking cold out here.” I said to my mate, Ray.
”You’re cold blooded, how the fuck can you feel the cold?” Ray said and I looked at him and shrugged my shoulders which made Ray chuckle and he pulled me closer to his side.
”I feel bad for him you know.” I said and Ray sighed.
”Gee is not your responsibility, it isn’t your fault his last mate got killed and now he won’t leave the house and look for a new one.” Ray said.
”You don’t get Gee. He loved Jack to bits and it nearly killed him when Jack died. Gee has the gifts he has for a reason Ray.” I said.
“Even so, he still could go out and help humans or other vampires if he isn’t comfortable around humans.” Ray said and he stopped which made me stop a couple of steps after him.
“Gee is comfortable around everyone it’s just how Gee is.” I said quietly as Ray seem to of heard something.
“Yet he locks himself away in his room.” Ray whispered sarcastically and I glared at him and Ray looked at me.
“Don’t start on me Way.” Ray said.
“I’m not starting and you know it.” I growled and Ray walked past me and I followed him and we found a person we could take back home with us.
“Fuck Ray he stinks, I can smell him all the way here.” I said and Ray looked at me.
“He’s all what I can find, everyone else has gone home for the night because we left it too late.” Ray said and we looked back at the boy.
“If we bring him back then we need to fix him.” I said.
“More like Gee will, Gee will get too attached you know what he’s like with people we bring who are sick. He gets them better and then he doesn’t feed because he’s attached to them.” Ray said and I sighed.
“He needs help Ray.” I said and Ray looked at me.
“We take him then we won’t feed until we hunt tomorrow and you know how everyone is at the moment. We all need blood.” Ray said and I looked at the boy who had noticed mine and Rays presence.
“Take him. Gee can fix him up and who knows what will happen, maybe he can bring Gee back to life again.” I said.
“And about time too, we need our leader back again because Patrick is doing a fucking shit job.” Ray said and I chuckled.
“Go get him.” I whispered and Ray smirked at me and he went to go off but I caught hold of his hand.
“You don’t hurt him.” I said seriously and Ray nodded and got the boy and when he came back the boy was over Rays shoulder.

“I told you not to hurt him.” I said as Ray put the boy on the floor.
“The boy was a heap on the floor when I got to him.” Ray said as I checked the boy over and I looked at Ray.
“Ray, He’s just a kid. We can’t take him, we don’t feed of kids you know how Gee feels about it.” I said.
“And you know Gee will read our minds and find out about the kid and wonder why we didn’t bring him back. He would probably kill us if he finds out that we left the kid defenseless.” Ray said and I groaned.
“Christ why is my brother such a pain in the ass.” I said and Ray chuckled.
“Because he’s a fucking softie.” Ray said.
“Want to say that too his face when he’s in a serious grump you can knock yourself out on that one.” I said and Ray chuckled and we looked at the kid.
“So What do we do?” Ray asked.
“If we take him back then everyone will want to eat him or leave him here and have Gee kill us because we left him to die on the streets.” I said.
“I’m more scared of Gee than the others.” Ray said and the kid groaned.
I knelt down beside him.
“Sleep, you’ll be safe when you wake up.” I whispered in his ear and the kid went back to sleep again.
“We need to leave, it’ll be dawn soon and the humans will be about.” I said as I stood up and Ray bent down and picked the kid up and threw him over his shoulder.
“Can’t you do that a bit more gentle?” I asked.
“Christ your just like your brother when we used to hunt together.” Ray said as he rolled his eyes.
I just walked off with Ray following.

We got back to the house and walked inside and Gee was pretty by the front door and was all over the kid, checking him over.
“Mind Gee, let me put him on the sofa.” Ray said as he walked in the sitting room and put the kid on the sofa.
“Hey food.” Patrick said and went a bit too close to the kid and Gerard growled and looked at Patrick showing his fangs which made Patrick back away.
“Leave Patrick.” Gerard said in a low voice.
“But Gee It’s food I’m starving.” Patrick whined and Gerard stood up and towered over Patrick which made Patrick look down.
“He’s not food, now leave.” Gerard said a bit louder than before and Patrick left the room leaving me and Ray alone with Gee.
Gerard focused back on the kid as the door slammed shut which made me and Ray jump and look at each other.
“Told you we should of left him where we found him.” Ray said quietly.
“I would rather get my head bitten off for bringing the kid home then having him looking through our heads and finding out we just left him to die Ray.” I said seriously.

“Shut up the pair of you.” Gerard said and we looked at Gee.
“I have a rule not to bring kids into the house for a reason.” Gerard said as he stood up and walked over to us.
“Gee I know you have that rule...” I started but Gerard interpreting me.
“Shut it Michael.” Gerard spat and I looked down.
“Don’t talk to Mikes like that.” Ray said and Gerard glared at Ray and Ray was on his knees and looking down.
“Don’t challenge me Ray.” Gerard growled.
“I don’t want kids around in this house because they do not deserve to be our food they have to live their life’s. But I will forgive the pair of you for bringing this kid into this house.” Gerard said and I looked at him.
“Gee I’m sorry we didn’t talk to you first but we was running out of time.” I said.
“Talk to me next time.” Gerard said more softly and he looked at me.
“Leave Ray.” Gerard said quietly and Ray got up and walked over to me.
“I’ll be listening.” Ray whispered and kissed my cheek.
“I know.” I said quietly and Ray walked out the room shutting the door behind him.

“How old do you think he is?” I asked as I knelt beside Gee.
“He can’t be no younger than 16 or no older than 18 but I’m guessing towards more towards being 18 since he has tattoos.” Gerard said as he looked at this tattoo on the kids neck.
“He fucking stinks, think everyone in the house can smell him.” I said and Gerard chuckled softly.
“The poor kid has been on the streets for 5 months, no wonder why he smells and looks so broken.” Gerard said and moved some hair from the kids face.
“You going to spill on why he is a street kid?” I asked and Gerard looked at me and smiled softly.
“Nope, I’m not spilling his life story and I’m not going to let on that I know.” Gerard said and he stood up.
“What you doing?” I asked and looked at Gerard.
“Nothing that doesn’t concern you.” Gerard said and he sat back down again.
I watched Gerard gently roll the kids sleeve up and there was new cuts along with scars and needle marks over his arm.
“The kids a druggie. Good thing he isn’t food.” I said and Gerard looked at me.
“He’s too young to have all this pain. To be into drugs as well, bets it isn’t weed but the hard stuff.” Gerard said and I looked at him confused since Gerard had more understanding in humans than what I did.
“The needle marks means he’s probably on heroine.” Gerard said quietly.
“These cuts are fresh as well.” Gerard said looking at the kids arm.
“You seriously need to be a doctor.” I said and Gerard looked at me.
“How I use my gift of healing people is up to me.” Gerard said.
“Then why don’t you heal the kid and then we have food.” I said and Gerard facial expression harden.
“The kid will not be used as food, once he is better he will leave. The kid needs to face his own demons and get better himself. He has to do it for himself.” Gerard said quietly and looked at the kid.

“What we going to do?” I asked after a moment of silence.
“Well I highly doubt his family will be looking for him as he has this run away Look about him. We have to get him better and off the drugs and get him talking about his problems. Once he’s better he can either leave or join us.” Gerard said.
“We can’t afford another mouth to feed Gee. It’s bad enough that this meal isn’t a meal.” I said and Gerard sighed.
“And we do not know if he’s unstable or not. We both know what it’s like to have an unstable vampire about the house.” I said talking about Gees last mate.
“I managed Jack, I can managed this kid.” Gerard said quietly and softly as he looked back at the kid.
“Gee, I know you are still mourning for Jack and you hate yourself for not helping him but you did everything you could for Jack. The time you was with Jack I’ve never seen or felt anyone be as happy as what Jack was when he was with you. His aura literally shined so bright it was like the sun Gee. He loved you so much.” I said and put my hand on top of Gees.
“Yeah well if he loved me so much then why did he do what he did?” Gerard spat.
“I don’t know Gee, but just know that he loved you a awful lot and it hurt him to do what he did.” I said and Gerard sighed.
“We’re not talking about him. I’ve got to focused on the kid.” Gerard said and he stood up and picked the kid up.
“Gee you don’t have to do this alone.” I said.
“I know, but I need to keep myself busy.” Gerard said quietly and walked off with the kid in his arms.
“Where’s the kid going to stay?” I asked already knowing my answer but Gee was always full of surprises.
“He’ll be in my room.” Gerard said.
“And food? The kid will need food.” I said and Gerard sighed.
“He’ll be out of it for a few days, I’ll worry about it then.” Gerard said and I nodded.
“Well, I’ll see you around Gee.” I said and Gerard smiled.
“Oh and when you and Ray are at it please can you try and keep the noise down. It’s bad enough that I hear everyone at it but I don’t need to hear my little brother fucking.” Gerard said and I chuckled.
“Call it pay back with you and Jack.” I said with a smirk and I followed Gerard upstairs.
“Night Gee, have fun with the kid.” I said and Gerard shook his head and walked in his room and shut the door behind him and I went to mine and Rays room.

I walked in the room and found Ray flat out asleep in bed on my side of the bed.
I smiled to myself and took my top off as I walked over and sat down on the bed and gently touched Rays face which made him sigh loudly and his eyes fluttered open.
“And you finally decide to show up.” Ray said sleepily and I chuckled softly.
“It took a bit longer than I thought.” I said quietly.
“What state is the kid in then?” Ray asked.
“He’s in a bad way. Hoping Gee can fix him and show the kid that life is worth living.” I said and Ray smiled.
“If anyone can do that then it’s Gee. He’s like the bomb on that.” Ray said and I smiled.
“I’m going to have a shower and I’ll be in bed.” I said and Ray nodded and got comfy again but not moving from my side of the bed.
I lent over and kissed Rays cheek which made him sigh and smile.
“Love you.” I whispered.
“Love you too.” Ray whispered back and I smiled and got up and went to have a shower and when I finished I walked back into the bedroom.

I found some shorts and put them on and walked over to the bed and climbed into bed and I moved closer to Ray and cuddled into his back and fell asleep hoping that this kid could change Gee and make him happy again.
