The colours of humans

A hall of emptiness?

It was a few years later that I was forgiven. It could be argued that it was in fact Frank and Gerard who saved me, though I will let you form your own opinion.

As you have probably have guessed Frank and Gerard were what Love described as a good couple, not perfect (because how can anyone/thing be perfect) but pretty close. Of course over the next five years there were arguments and there were tears and there were days where they hardly spoke to one another and days where all they did was talk to one another. There were smiles as wide as the pacific ocean (not literally…because…metaphors) and giggles and laughter that would seem to last forever. It cannot be argued that they did in fact love each other very much, as if their lives depended on it.

After a few weeks in hospital Frank made it back to Gerard's flat (where he later moved in) and with his help Frank was soon able to stand and walk again by the end of the year. Of course I visited Frank and Gerard every now and then to see how they were doing though they were happy enough living with each other.

It took five years (from the time in which our last chapter was set) for one of the two to finally find some courage within himself. Since as though Frank had done so in hospital Gerard decided that it should be his turn. Let's not let this chapter get too soppy but I will tell you that on that Friday night, Gerard led a highly confused Frank through the forest until they reached a glade that over looked the houses below. The sun was just setting and cast golden shadows across Frank's face who gasped as Gerard got down on one knee.
"Frank…" Gerard muttered, looking to his feet before he looked up to see the smiling Frank above him.
"Yes Gee…" Frank giggled.
"Would y-you…w-would you m-marry m-"
"Fuck yeah!" Cried Frank, falling to his knees and hugging Gerard tightly, "Of course I'll marry you Gee! Took you fucking long enough though!"
"Um, excuse me!" Gerard laughed, relieved he hugged Frank even tighter, "I'll have you know that that ring was very expensive."
Frank looked down to the plain black ring that Gerard held in his palm.
"Is that a mood ring?" Frank laughed, not caring how expensive it was, only that he could be with Gerard.
"Yep…" Smiled Gerard, "It's the ring that we won from the slot machines when we went to the sea-side."
"I love it…" Giggled Frank, he hugged Gerard until the sun disappeared behind the hills and until the stars studded the night sky.

It was in fact the very same day that Frank and Gerard got married as the day in which I was forgiven.

The red-haired man took the tattooed man's hand in his as the vicar spoke in a loud voice throughout the hall. Unfortunately Frank and Gerard could find very few people to invite and even fewer who would accept the invite. Maya (Alfie's younger sister) sat on the first row of seats, her smile was wide and her blue eyes gleaming: Frank looked to her and it was almost as if Alfie was sat in front of him. I sat on the front row across the aisle wearing my 'wedding shade of grey'. Other than that there was no-body else.

"Gerard…" The vicar began, looking between the two who were dressed in casual (but still quite smart) black suits, "do you take Frank to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
Gerard successfully replied with the oh so common reply to this question of 'I do.'
When asked the same question Frank also replied 'I do' through giggles.

"Is there anyone here who withholds any reason as to why these two should not be wedded?" asked the vicar.
Me and Maya looked at each other and smiled, shaking our heads.
"Well then…I now pronounce yo-"

The doors swung open and the light from outside cast itself into the room. A figure stood in the light.
A man slightly younger than Gerard stood in the doorway, he wore a bright smile on his face when he saw Gerard and he took his sunglasses off and cast them to one side. His hair was a light brown with a streak of blonde running through it as it fell slightly to the side, he wore a pair of black jeans and a white shirt with black boots. His eyes were similar to Gerard's and his skin pale.
"Mikey?!" Gerard gawped, his legs unable to move.
"Hiya…" Mikey smiled, giving a slight wave, "is this a bad time?"
Gerard didn't reply, he was already running towards Mikey before throwing himself onto him.
"I've missed you so much!" Gerard cried happily, a mess of laughter and tears.
"I've missed you more!" Mikey laughed, hugging Gerard back, "I'm so sorry Gee. I've been looking for you for ever! But mum and dad wouldn't let me see you even though I pleaded with them! Fuck, I've missed you Gee!"
"It's okay Mikes…you're here now: and that's all that matters. You are here and it wasn't your fault." Gerard replied through sobs, ruffling Mikey's hair.
"Yeah, sorry about just turning up at your wedding; I thought I was going to miss it though."
"Aha…" Gerard grinned, taking Mikey's hand and marching him back towards a smiling Frank, "speaking of weddings: this is Frank."

"Hiya Frank…" Mikey smiled. He didn't even wait for a reply before he pulled Frank into a warm hug, "now you take care of my brother, okay?"
"Yeah, I promise." laughed Frank.

Mikey removed himself from Frank and backed away so he could sit on the seat next to me.
"Please…" He said, gesturing to the vicar, "please continue."

"Okay…" Sighed the vicar, "Is there anyone here who withholds any reason as to why these tw-"
"Oh for fucks sake…" Frank laughed, burying his head into Gerard's chest.

In through the doors walked a crowd of people, some of who they had met and some of who they hadn't. They were so commonly known as (by Gerard and Frank) as 'Death's squad'.

"Oh my god!" We heard the voice of Jealousy ring out across the entire hall, "I would love to have a wedding like this."
"Ssssame…" Hissed Spite.
"Sshhhh, we need to be quite…" Innocence whispered.
"As quite as Batman?" Asked another voice.
There was some murmuring before the trail of figures entering the hall replied with a whispered: "Shut up Evil."

But new faces were blended in among the known to Frank and Gerard. A woman clad in red holding a rose swanned into the room followed by a young man with cherry red cheeks and glowing dark skin who wore a blinding yellow suit. This is where I introduce you to Love and Happiness. They had returned to see Frank had Gerard who both contained so much love and happiness that they couldn’t stay away. And thanks to this the rest of those who had plotted against me also forgave me. They forgave me for something that I never did…and I apologised, for some fucking reason.

"Ooooh!" Cried Happiness in excitement, "Very snazzy! Very snazzy indeed!"
"Shhh…." whispered Love, "you're ruining the moment!"
"What moment?!"
"Still doesn't look as fabulous as me!" sung Narcissism as he walked down the aisle, swaying his hips from side to side before sitting on the second row of chairs.
"Where's the cake?" asked Hunger through the crowd of voices.

"Will you guys please be quiet!" The Vicar called over the rising noise of the newcomers, "Unless any of you possesses an actual reason as to why these two shouldn’t be wedde-"
He was cut off by Narcissism yelling about Batman while Lust flirted with a chair and he sighed and sat down on the steps in silence.

"Well blah blah blah…" Gerard said, ignoring the chaos in front of him, he turned to Frank and in that moment of silence he was all he could focus on; the bright smile, the tattoos snaking up his neck, the lip ring that glinted gently in the light, but most of all he stared deep into his eyes.
"Blah blah blah…." Whispered Gerard closing the gap between him and Frank, "Blah, Blah… Gee loves Frank and Frank loves Gee! Blah Blah Blah….I now pronounce you husband and 5 foot 6 husband. You may kiss the groom. Blah Blah blah…"
With that Gerard took Frank's face gently in his hands and kissed him gently on the lips, Frank stood on his tip-toes and kissed back as the chaos around them fell into silence.

It was just the two of them, they were all that mattered in those brief seconds and we were just on-lookers to something so beautiful. They parted with smiles still woven into their faces as their hands lay in each other's. As the (now rather large audience) clapped and cheered Gerard swept Frank from his feet and carried him 'bridal-style' down the aisle.

  • Mikey had found his brother, they agreed later that they would stay in touch as much as possible. Frank and Mikey both got along very well and Gerard was glad that his entire family hadn't abandoned him.

  • I was allowed back into my world, I was forgiven for what I had done by all. They treated me kindly and for once they understood that I meant no harm to any living thing, I do not cause death, I only walk with the dead.

  • But most of all: Frank had found Gerard and there was something beautiful about their love for one-another that I just can't quite put my finger on. They were smiling, they were to be happy until the end of their lives...together.

Hiya, oh wow...thanks so much for reading, I hope you enjoy the rest too. :D
i didn't mean to really describe death in so much detail really, I tried to focus on introducing characters and Frank and Gerard (later on) but her opinions just kept weaving their way into the story and then it just kinda happened and those opinions about death stayed.
I really hope that the rest will be okay, and thank you so much for reading and the compliments, your comment made me smile, so, um, thanks. :D :)
