Part One Chapter Ten

"We're leaving to meet back up with the tour bus, we've been enjoying our time off here," Gerard said. I listened to how he described whom the house belonged too and how they we're staying there for some much needed time off.

"Look who decided to stick around," Mikey sneered at me like I was a savage, rabid animal. I thought about kicking him in the shins but thought against it. Gerard ushered me into the passengers seat of the vehicle.

"Lacey, put your seatbelt on," Gerard said, when he noticed I wasn't following suit of everyone else.

"No thanks," I sighed.

"What if we crash?" Gerard asked as if it was planned.

"They hopefully, I'll die," I sighed back, putting my headphones in.

For or the next fifteen, twenty, twenty five minutes, I was unaware of how much time passed, I watch the trees and buildings outside collide together in unison as Gerard presses the accelerate. What was I even going to do when this week was up? I refused to answer even my own question. I pushed that question to the very back corners of my mind.

I rested my head on the seat of the car and closed my eyes. The gentle movement of the vehicle urging me back to sleep. I tried to fathom what must have happened after I blacked out, and how in the hell Gerard was able to talk the EMTs into allowing me to go with their crew. My fake ID with "Lacey" was stashed somewhere, and it really had no proper address on it. That's probably why I was let off the hook so easily; if they don't know, why should they care?

I opened my eyes when the vehicle came to a halt, and everyone began to make their way out. I looked to my right to see Ray open the door for me, and I slid out, feeling the height different between us and I brushed pass him. I tried to see where Mikey has snuck off too, but followed Frank onto the tour bus instead.

"Woah, where do you think you're going?" a voice said to me, and I looked up to see a thin man covered in more tattoos than Frank. He looked back at me with a less than excited expression.

"Relax Travis, she's with us," Frank said as if I was a burden, as he stood on the steps of the bus.

"What are you? A journalist? Crazy fan?" He mused.

"I'm about to break your nose," I spat at him, knowing that would make him stop. Frank held out his hand to me and dragged me on to the bus, a mixture of cigarette smoke and after shave perfumed my nostrils as soon as I entered the vicinity. He pointed over to a couple of bunks and spoke:

"Make yourself comfortable, pick any of them," he told me. And I picked the bottom left one.

"That's Mikey's," he said.

"And? You said to pick any one," I said back.

"Alright," Frank shrugged. "Don't blame me when he complains," he added.

I felt the bus shift as the others got on just as soon as I could hear their commotion. I inched myself as far back into the bunk as I could, until I wa parallel with the wall. My bag at my feet, I pull my legs up to my chest and wrap my arms around them. I intertwine my finger together in attempts to stay warm, and place my head on top. Suddenly, a pair of blue eyes are gazing into mine.

"Hello!" The man said as if he were talking to a baby.

"What's your name?" He asked, enthusiastically.

"That's Lacey, Mark." Mikey started as he was pushing him away. He sat down at the other end of the bunk and put his legs out in front of him. Mark reached past his combat boots and put his hand out to shake mine.

"Lacey, I'm Mark, nice to meet you!" I rolled my hand into a fist and he did the same, bumping our knuckles.

"I like her!" He exclaimed.

"Say, what's that on your wrist?" He asked looking at my bandages with a bit of concern in his face.

"She got a tattoo, Mark. Now fuck off so we can sleep!" Mikey moaned.

"Moody much," Mark hissed.

I smirked at Miley's additude and he looked at me, unplease.

"What?" He asks.

Raising my eyebrows, and shaking my head, I said "nothing".

For the next hour or so, I curled up in my embrace and I felt the bus move to wherever the next location was; how far would I get from the city where I started? I listened quietly as faint snoring made it's way through the bus, and looked around in total darkness, only to grab the phone I was granted and have it illuminate some of my surroundings. Stilll no messages or calls from Genevieve, but I wasn't surprised. I always knew she would drop me the minute we got out.

@The pink flamingos return
Thank you for your kind words! Many more chapters to come! :)

Woah! Cliffhanger right there!
I just thought I'd say that this story has been amazing and tense right from the beginning. The best thing though about this story is that (for me anyway) it really feels as if you're Jadelyn. I was just wondering how she was going to get through the next few weeks on her own and now I shall worry about how she will stay alive.
¡Fabulous chapters! And looking forward to next update, thanks for writing. :)
