Vacant heart

Alicia helps

(Mikey’s POV)
(1826)

Soon after witnessing what happened to Lindsey, Gerard started to feel sympathy towards her. Gerard and I constantly went to Alicia’s study to find something that could help Lindsey and help Gerard watch out for when it happens to him. “Did she have any books about the heart of spirit?” Gerard asked. I hummed and walked to the shelf where she kept them. I scanned through them and nothing was relevant, besides ‘Empty’ Lindsey said she felt empty the night she killed my wife, so this might help. I pulled the book out of the shelf and opened the cover and saw Alicia left a note. “All pages are empty.” I flipped through the pages and indeed it was empty. I sighed and put it back into the shelf. “No luck?” Gerard says walking over to me. “I would’ve thought there was something in that book.” I say pointing to the book I just put back. “But it literally is what the title says.” He frowns yawning. “I am going to head home. The sun will be up soon. Get some sleep Mikey.” I nod and hug him. He smiled at me, before he sprinted off.

I was tired, but helping my brother is worth it. I looked around her study to find the spirit rituals and spells. I glance at her table and saw she had a book I never noticed on her desk before. I walked over to it to read the cover, but it was scratched and covered in blood. I opened it and saw “Dangerous! Don’t not try this ritual!” I ignored it and tried to read the pages, but a bright light shot me, launching me to the bookcase. Everything went blurry, all I could see was a bright girl figure. “Don’t help her out Michael.” A familiar girl voice said. I groaned trying to adjust my eyes to see her face. “I would help her, but, I am dead. Lindsey’s vacant heart is helping me communicate to you.” She tried to touch me hand, but failed with her going through it. She sighed a bit. “I can’t hold you my love.” She says crying. I finally spoke, stuttering. “W-Why c-can’t I s-see y-you?” Y-You’re b-bright and b-blurry.” She shushes me, telling me to calm down. I-Is this Alicia? “You can’t see me, my love, because you are too pure. We can only be seen perfectly by the vacant.” “Vacant?” I questioned. She yelled from a pain she was feeling. “I got to go Michael. Just remember Alicia loves you.” She says before she yelled again, vanishing. I called out for her, but she was gone. I groaned getting up as I felt warm tears going down my face. I ran back to the book and a paper floated on top of it with words appearing on it. “I am fading away with Lindsey. When she goes I go. We are not far from leaving.” I cried even more and took the paper into my hands. I folded it and put it in my pocket. What does she mean she is leaving when Lindsey leaves? Is Lindsey dying? I wonder if Gerard knows what she meant. I picked up the book and walked out of my home going up the hill to Gerard’s manor.

I knocked on the door, but there was no reply. I slowly opened it and panicked when I saw Lindsey emotionless on the floor with Gerard scared. “Is she dead?” I say alarming Gerard. “I don’t know Mikey! Something bright came out of her and launched me to the wall and she fell to the ground and has been like this.” “Is this what Alicia meant?” I whispered to myself. Gerard looked at me concerned. “Mikey…s-she’s gone.” I sat down on the floor with Gerard. “Not entirely.” I pulled out the note she wrote me and showed it to Gerard. “Her spirit or something came and talked to me soon after you left. She told me that Lindsey’s vacant heart was helping her communicate with me.” Gerard looked at me with his eyes wide opened. “That’s not possible!” He says scared. “I saw her a bit. She was bright and blurry and she said, that I was too pure to see her. Only the vacant can see her perfectly.” “Vacant?” He questioned. “I asked her the same, but she left before she could answer.” Gerard nodded and took the book that was in my hands. He opened it and read through the pages. He got upset and closed it. “Everything is crossed out with ‘Dangerous’ written all over it.” He sighs and gets up putting the book and note on the side table. I quietly took the note as Gerard was picking Lindsey up. “I will talk to you soon, Mikey. Go home and get some sleep.” He says before going upstairs. I quietly say okay before I walked out going home as I saw the sun rise. I go in and plop down on my bed and go to sleep.

Notes

This was originally longer, but I cut a lot of things out :/

I was getting tired of writing smut so I made them stop having sex and well since they have 5 kids who are quite young are a handful, they wont have time anyways. The only time they would actually get time to have sex is when their kids are asleep but even then. Logically speaking. If the kids can hear the parents having sex at such young age, when they're older and hear it they will be terrified. (My stories my be be unrealistic, but I still put logic into them) Plus I thought it would be nice to finish the story after a few chapters of no smut and end it with smut.

I adore this story but it is a bit unrealistic to think they'd go years without sex. Hell even normal married couples w kids will make time to b together.

@My-FluffFrerard
