Hidden in the dark

Frank's POV:

"Frank! Get up! Quick! We're gonna be late!" I hear Gee yell as he scampers around the house. I giggle and throw on my close and fix my makeup. I grab my backpack and walk into the living room. He's pacing and throwing on his shoes. I giggle and he shoots me a look. I put my hands up in defence.

"I'm ready when you are Gee." I say and lean against the door. He grabs his stuff and runs out the door. I follow and giggle. "Look, Gee. We aren't going to be late. We'll be on time." I say and he pulls out of the driveway with a huff.

"I only had three coffees." He says with a pout. I roll my eyes and give him my coffee.

"Look, ya need it more than I do. I know how you get without your coffee Gee. It's like releasing a beast. I'll grab another one for you in between classes." I say and he smiles and grabs my coffee mug.

"Thanks Frank! I owe you one." He says and happily sips the hot bittersweet beverage. He hums.

"No problem Gee. You don't owe me anything. You have saved me and are letting me stay at yours. I couldn't ask for anything more." I say and he pats my head and messes my hair up a bit. We pull into the school and race to the basement and god is he fast. We run in to see Ray already there. He laughs as he sees us tumbling in. I run straight into Gee's back and he stumbles a bit.

"God you two. If I hadn't known I'd think the devils after ya." He says and we all laugh. I flop in my desk and sit back.

"So you've met my boyfriend? Hope he didn't scare ya." I say and Ray laughs and nods.

"Oh I've met him. Can't believe you haven't figured it out yet though." Ray says and I roll my eyes.

"Fuck off Ray. Apparently I'm a genius but a complete idiot. Which is probably true." I say with a laugh. Ray gasps when I swear around Gee.

"Mr. Way! Are you going to allow him to speak like that?" Ray says dramatically. Gee laughs and I flip him off.

"Say what ever the fuck you want. I don't give a shit." Gee says and Ray gasps dramatically again. Gee and I both flip him off and he pretends to faint.

Class starts and stops. I got to go run to the coffee shop now. Promised Gee that coffee. Won't take me long. Just three coffees. Might as well grab one for Ray. "Be right back guys. Going to grab the coffees." I say and run out of the room.

I jog to the coffee shop and wait in the short line. I grab three black coffees, three cookies and three bagel sandwiches. I throw the cookies and sandwiches in my bag and walk back to school and go to the basement. I kick open the door.

"I have COFFEE!" I say and Gee squeals. I laugh and place all three large black coffees down. I grab mine and put it on my desk. I give Ray his and Gee grabs his and starts drinking it. He hums again. "I also bought cookies and sandwiches." I say and toss them each a cookie and a sandwich.

"Thanks!" They say in unison. I laugh at how weird it sounded. We eat and drink out coffees. We only have 4 minutes left until everyone is supposed to get to second period. It's because this school is huge. Kids start pouring in. Gee tenses up again and goes back to his teacher mode.

Its mid way through second period and Gerard still hasn't shown up. Gee's walking around the classroom and looking at all the art. It's nice to see him walking around the students though. They all start panicking when he gets close. I giggle a bit. I get back to my work and then hear someone whisper.

"Frankie baby." It's Gerard. I see his long sharp black painted nail run lightly across my desk. When his hand leaves my desk his nail is no longer long or sharp. I look up to see Gee walking back up to his desk.

"Really Frank?" Ray asks. I give him a confused look. "Gerard's nails..." he says expectingly. I don't know what he means. Then I look up and see all the students except Ray and I frozen. Gee isn't frozen either. He just chuckles. He walks up to me.

"Frankie baby." He says sits on my desk. I look up at him.

"Gerard, what are you doing in Gee's body? You told me you'd show me your real face baby." I say and he grabs my hands. I look down to see the long nails.

"You are such a genius yet such an idiot Frankie. Pay too much attention yet not enough. Baby, this is the real world." He says to me. I give him a confused look Ray huffs.

"God damnit Frank. You are so oblivious." Ray says. I look at him and cock my eyebrow. He rolls his eyes.

"You didn't answer my question Gerard. Gee doesn't like you using his body. Now who are you really?" I say with a bit of a huff. Is he trying to play jokes on me?

"But baby I did. I can't switch bodies. I can't disguise my appearance. I can hide the wings and stuff but not my 'human appearance'. Follow me baby." He says and walks over to the desk. He pats his lap and I huff and sit down. "Look at my name baby." He says and points to a folder on the desk. He puts his head in between my shoulder and neck and nuzzles in. He kisses my neck. I look down to the folder.

ATTENDANCE: CLASS ART ART-4UC
TEACHER: GERARD WAY

The folder says. Wait. Gee was just a nick name. I look up and flip so I'm facing him. I'm happy yet angry. I look at him with no expression. I see his happy expression drop. He looks at me with sadness and almost a fear in his eyes. I stand up so I can pull him up to kiss him but as soon as I stand up. He lets out a cry and runs out the door.

"Gerard." I say quietly and hang my head. "I was just going to kiss you." I say and I feel tears stream down my face. Ray walks up to me.

"Hey, it's okay. Go find him. He needs you more than anything right now." Ray says and I nod. I know he won't be anywhere else but the basement. He's the only one that knows his way around this place.

I walk into the deep depths of the schools musty basement. "Gee. Please come out." I call and hear quiet sobs coming from somewhere around the corner. I turn the corner and find a body curled in a ball and sobbing. I walk up and they shift back. "Gee, is that you?" I ask softly.

"Who are you looking for. Gee or Gerard?" He spits out. I walk closer and let out a sigh. I can't believe I did this to him.

"Both." I say quietly.

"Well fuck off. Neither of them want to see you. You just shut them down. You could have just said you never wanted me or who would want to date the devil. Just fuck off. You've already hurt me too much." He spits at me. I sit beside him and run a hand through his hair. He tenses up and nearly snaps at me but I don't flinch.

"Gee, Gerard. Same person. I will leave but I have one thing to say first. I didn't shut you down. Who says I did or was going to? I could tell you who wants to date the devil. I didn't mean to hurt you. I stood up so I can pull you into a kiss. I guess I'll go now if you never want to see me again. I'll disappear from your life. You'll never have to see me again. But remember my heart will always belong to the devil. The beautiful, amazing devil who I could never thank enough. I'm sorry." I say and kiss his head. I walk to leave and I feel tears well in my eyes. Once I get far enough away I fall to my knees and cry. I cry my heart out. He'll never want me again. I cry. That all I do and all I can do. I won't have anywhere to go. That angel should have killed me. Who knows maybe I'll end up in limbo. Nobody's ever there.

I see a small thing shining out of the corner of my eyes. My old enemy. A pocket knife. Well welcome back old friend. I crawl and grab it. It's still sharp. I roll up my sleeves and press the blade against my skin. It's hard to see with tears in my eyes but I'm able to do it. I don't go upstream but across. Still works. I make one cut.
One. He cried because of me
Two. He hates me
Three. He wouldn't care if I died
Four. He will forget about me
Five. He never wants to see me again.
Six. I broke him
Seven. He won't be there with me

I hear footsteps. Someone calling. "Frankie." He says. He never wants to see me again. I've lost too much blood and other bodily fluids to move though. I'm weak. Maybe I'm dying. I hope I'm dying. I see him come into view. He spots me. The lump of human on the ground. "Frankie!" He screams and runs up to me. I can feel myself bleeding out. "Oh my god! Baby! What did you do? No. No! You're dying. I can't lose you though. Oh my god. Why baby?" He says in tears. He picks me up off of the floor. I give him a weak smile.

"All for you. Now you never have to see the spoiled rotten brat you hate ever again. I am dying. They are all so I can make you happy. I love you. So long and goodnight." I say and everything goes black.
