It had been one month since Gerard ordered the ring in Franks size to the store and it was ready to be picked up. Frank had plans with Mikey this day so that Gerard could go and get the ring without Frank knowing and the next night was when Gerard had planned to propose. He booked a table at a fancy restaurant out of town and he would be driving them there and back. He had picked out a nice outfit for the night and had planned everything so that it would be perfect for the proposal.

Frank had just came back from being with Mikey he had been took shopping knowing Gerard was taking him on a date so he picked out new clothes for the occasion with Mikeys help. Mikey knew all about Gerards plans and helped Frank with a nice outfit he knew Gerard would love as well as Frank looking adorable. He had chosen out a nice black button up shirt with no pockets on, a nice red bow tie to go with it and tight black skinny jeans even Mikey thought he looked hot and Mikey was straight.Gerard was starting to feel nervous him already dressed in a white shirt no pockets on and a thin black tie in a small knot with dark grey skinny jeans and a little dark grey matching blazer to go over the top to hide the ring in the zip up pocket inside the blazer. Gerard had the table booked for an hour and a halfs time giving Frank enough time to get ready and them to drive there. Frank gets ready and they get in the car. it was a 35 minuet drive to get there but Gerard left early in case of traffic.

" Gee where are you taking me?" Frank was excited but nervous at where his boyfriend was taking him. They hadn't been out of town since Gerard got back.
" you'll see soon enough hun .. i thought it would be nice to try some where new out of town you know? " Gerard says trying not to give Frank to much information.
" oh okay sweetie i like the sound of that" Frank now excited for where they were going.

They arrive 10 minuets early for their meal but they were seated and given menu's . It was a posh restaurant that served multi cultural foods so there was a wide choice of dishes to choose from. The restaurant was a taken over theatre so was a big open space with chandeliers , long red velvet curtains hanging from the big windows, red sheets on the tables to match but everything else was a cream colour, The paint on the walls and the flooring with all the old and beautiful decorations in the stone on the walls.

" this place is beautiful Gee.. this must be expensive to book ... never mind the waiting list to eat here" Frank says eyes sparkling as he looks at Gerard with admiration.
" nah nothing to worry about hun the waiting list wasn't that long and i wanted to try this place i got a recommendation from someone and thought it would be a great place for us to come on a date after looking online at reviews and where it was and what it looked like but it is an amazing decorative building" He says agreeing with Frank this place was amazing.
" wow well i'm glad you brought me here this is amazing Gee" he responds to his boyfriend content that they are moving forward and going to new places.

They have a starter of garlic prawns in a tomato sauce that were so tender and full of flavour and a main meal that was a well done steak with home made chips with a Dianne sauce cooked to perfection still juicy and cooked all the way through just the way they liked their steaks. It was now time for desert the waiter came over with their cake that they were sharing just a chocolate fudge cake with cream and alcoholic free champagne ... it was time.

Gerard stands up looking at Frank and gets down on one knee in front of him getting the ring out of his pocket.
" Frank .. there was a reason i've brought you here tonight.. i wanted this to be special...." He opens the box and presents the ring to Frank who is just staring st Gerard in shock with tears of happiness in his eyes and hand over his mouth.
" i know we have had a bit of a rocky road in getting here the past few months and i am sorry for that.. and i know that you are the love of my life... And i want to spend the rest of my life with you.. grow old together and have a new adventure every day never letting the smile fade off your face.... and so i have a question i want to ask you"
frank at this point just lets the tears drop from his eyes smiling widely his eyes sparkling as he meets Gerards gaze giving him a nod to continue.
" Frank Anthony Iero... will you do me the honour of marrying me?".
Frank wipes away his tears smiling at Gerard and puts his hand towards him
" yes ... i would love to marry you Gee"
Gerard puts the ring on Franks finger, they both stand up and hug each other crying tears of joy as everyone in the restaurant cheers and applauds them.

They finish their meal gleaming at each other and Frank admiring his ring and get going on their was home to tell everyone the news. It was dark now and they were driving down a country road singing along to a misfits CD when a car appears out of no where and hits them. A drunk driver hits Franks side of the car and the car topples and goes into a ditch both men left on conscious and the driver rings an ambulance then drives away both Frank and Gerard are taken to hospital.

Mikey gets the call saying they is in hospital and to get there asap. Gerard had a few cuts and bruises where as Frank was worse off... he was in a coma ... and it gets worse from there....

" can i see him?" Gerard asks the doctor
" i'm afraid not at the moment Mr Way he is in a critical condition and we have found a tumour in his brain ... he has cancer.. and he is in a coma we don't know if he will wake up the damage done to him is severe and we don't know if he will pull through but we are doing all we can for him" The doctor explains before leaving Gerards room
Gerard bursts into tears in fear that Frank may die all because of a drunk driver on the night they had got engaged and he couldn't imaging his life without Frank. Mikey arrives shortly after this to see his brother curled up in his hospital bed and thinks that Frank is dead to begun with until Gerard explains whats happened and blames himself for taking them out of town to propose.

" it's all my fault ... Frank is going to die because of me " Gerard says in between sobs hugging his pillow.
" Gee this is not your fault .. you din't know that drunk driver was there .... he came out of no where .. but Frank may be in a bad way but this doesn't mean he will die."
" he has a brain tumour Mikes ... he has cancer.... i can't loose him... "
" look Gee they just found it, it could be in it's early stages and get removed or it will go away with treatment. Everything will be okay"

One month later and Gerard was finally aloud to visit Frank who has been taken out of intensive care but the tumour that was found is stage 3 cancer and was still in his coma. Gerard had been discharged the day after the car accident and spent all his time trying to see Frank at the hospital and now it was time to go and see him he was in a stable condition but still on a support machine due to his coma. Mikey went with Gerard for support as he knew it would be hard on his brother to see Frank like this.

Gerard walks into Franks room and sits on the chair next to his bed, Takes his hand and presses a soft kiss to it.
" Hey Frankie... the doctor said you could here me if i spoke to you.. i've been trying to come see you for a month now but you weren't in a good way... a drunk driver hit us when we were coming home after i proposed to you .... but i'm here now hun and i'm not leaving your side"
Gerard stays at the hospital until visiting hours are over.

Six months pass and Franks condition doesn't improve. His cancer was growing and they couldn't treat him without his consent. Gerard goes to the hospital all day every day as soon as visiting hours start and goes when they end. He reads to Frank and tells him about everything that is going on.

" Mr way i see you are here again" the doctor says as he enters Franks room to check on his condition.
" As always doctor... and change? " Gerard asks smiling at the doctor as he gets Franks chart and does the usual checks.
" i'm afraid not Gerard... i also have to tell you that since it has been six months we can only keep Frank on these machines for another two weeks ... i'm afraid we have done everything we can to help him but it's up to him now if he wakes up then we can continue treatment for his cancer but if he does not we will have to turn off the machine.. i'm very sorry but we have done all we can for him" The doctor says in a serious voice just as Mikey entered the room with coffees for them both.
" I don't understand doctor ... why would you give up on him like this" Gerard says in a panic full of anger and heartache.
" we have done all we can. it is up to Frank now. I understand your upset but we can no longer care for Frank and i know he is a loved one for you and this news can't be easy to hear but we can no longer give him care he is not responding to treatment " The doctor tries to calm Gerard who is highly upset at this news.
" B-But you can't lose hope in him he might start showing progress... i know he will" Gerard says with a tear falling from his eye.
" i'm sorry Mr Way but if patients don't show any progress by now it is not likely they will" The doctor says before leaving the room giving Mikey an awkward nod on the way out.
" Gee..... i can't believe it.... they can't do this " Mikey supports his brother as he hands him a coffee.
" NO .... no they can't do this .... not to my Frankie... i can't live without him Mikes.... what am i supposed to do if they won't believe he will fight ....... i can't let them turn off his machines... i just can't... " Gerard says grabbing the coffee and staring at Frank more tears rolling down his face " i can't lose him ...."

The two weeks pass and Frank has still made no progress. Today was the day they were turning off the machines and Gerard came into the hospital to say goodbye.

" Mr way it's time... say your goodbyes and then we have to turn the machines off we will give you a few minuets alone... come outside when your done" The doctor says to Gerard as him and his team leave the room.
Gerard hadn't slept the night before he just cried .... his eyes still red and swollen.. his hands shaking as he reaches for Franks hand.
" Hey hunny.. I don't know if you can hear me or if you have been able to this whole time but i haven't given up hope... i know you can pull through this.... i know you would never leave me like this...after everything that we have been through to get here this is not the way it ends i can feel it... please Frankie wake up ... i can't live without you in my life.... a world with out you is not a world worth living in ... you are my everything ... please Frankie ... please wake up .... don't leave me ... please.." Gerard starts to cry uncontrollably onto the side of the bed Frank is in .. the fear of losing the love of his life was to much .... he never thought this day would come ... but it had.... it was now time for the machines supporting Frank to be turned off .....this was the end .....the machines were off.....

" Mr way ... this is it .... the machines are off..." The doctor says looking at Gerard who was crying heavily being held by his brother...... " wait a minuet... he... he's breathing"
