hold on tight don't look back

Two months pass and Gerard hadn't been let out by himself again but he was slowly dropping hints and earning Berts trust so he could go out again and ring frank. It's all Gerard had thought about for the two months since the first call and couldn't wait to hear his voice again.

"Gerard i think its about time we made friends. there is a little bar remember the walk we went on yesterday it's just down there. maybe we should make different friends... here have this mobile iv'e already put my number in it and i want you to use it so if you make some friends you can have their number and get in touch with them"

"oh wow thanks Bert this is great thank you so much" Gerard takes the phone thankfully and smiles widely he has earned Berts trust

"well you've been really good since we moved away .. see this is what we needed a clean get away and a nice place to live.. now we can make friends and have a life here so go to the bar and make some friends but be home in 2 hours alright?" Bert says satisfied at his plan and that it worked out and he has Gerard all to himself... or so he thinks.
"yeah that's fine i will text you and keep you updated on how it's going and where i am... but are you sure you want this?" Gerard says puzzled by Berts sudden kindness

"yeah i/m sure Gerard i want this to be a fresh start and now we have been here for 8 months we can start making friends and go to hang out with them. It will be nice to have friends and you will let me know what happens so of course i'm okay with it" He says with a gleam in his eyes

"yeah your right Bert it would be nice to make friends and have company for dinner some time. This is a great idea." Gerard agrees with Bert as Gerard can now have freedom and can get in touch with Frank more

once again Gerard has a time limit and goes to the payphone on his way to the bar after making sure Bert wasn't following him or tracking him by his phone.

Frank: hello?
Gerard: hey Frankie its Gerard
Frank: GEE!!! oh is so good to hear from you are you alright? has he hurt you?
Gerard: well again i don't have long i have 2 hours today i have to go to the bar around here and try and make friends. he hasn't hurt me in a few months. i'm doing well and i have a phone now ... but i think he might track the numbers i am in contact with which is why i have rang you from the payphone again.... i'm sorry i can't ring you much but i think i might be able to get in touch more often...... there is a hotel here ... i found it a month ago on a walk ... i don't know where i am and i don't have access to the internet... i don't know what to do but i'm glad i can talk to you.... i miss you Frankie.... i really want to see you....
Frank: oh Gee... i miss you two i want you to be back home.... so i can see you every day ... i'm glad he hasn't hurt you and hey if there's a hotel do you think you could get the number?
Gerard: i can try to yeah ... why?
Frank: because then we will find out where you are and get you out of there... the police called off the search we had looking for you after 6 months... and i haven't told them you have been in contact ... i don't know what to do Gee ... i don't want you to get hurt..
Gerard: i herd that on the radio the night he took me ... he wasn't happy about it but it gave me hope and that is whats kept me going knowing that you are still looking and still have hope that you can get me home safe... i'll get that number... i want to see you... but i have to go and get to the bar now ... i think he might check what time i got there so i will have to run i'm so sorry Frankie ... but i will speak to you soon .... tell the police i have contacted you and i'll get that number for you... the sooner the better so i can be back home with you and mikes.... goodbye Frankie
Frank: goodbye Gee talk soon i will tell the police what is happening and i hope you get that number soon so you can be back home .... i really miss you
*phone line is cut off*


Gerard runs to the bar and spends the next hour and 40 minuets there keeping Bert updated then went home he was a little bit late but made no friends but had brief conversations with people so he and Bert think its a good start for him.

mean while Frank has told the police everything and they haven't been able to track the payphone number so are waiting for Gerard to get the hotel number and name so they can find where he is. all they have to do is wait and they have a plan in action.

2 weeks later and Bert has made new friend where Gerard hasn't .

" Gerard i going to be staying out tonight so you can do what you like maybe try and make some friends? because i don't like you being here alone" Bert was sympathetic for Gerard but he couldn't help him make friends he had to do that alone.
" yeah sure i'll go back to the bar or go on a walk or something and wait for you to get home" Gerard agrees just so he can get out and get his plan into action.

Bert leaves an hour later and so Gerard goes on a walk half an hour after that to make sure Bert doesn't see himand goes to the payphone

Frank: Gee?
Gerard: Frankie .. i have more time today Bert has gone out with a friend so i have time to talk i have the number and name of the hotel * gives name and number*
Frank: great .. i told the police everything and they tried to see where the payphone you are contacting me from but they failed... but they asked me to do something...
Gerard:what is it Frankie?
Frank: well the police suggested that i book a room in the hotel... for a month ... and that i should hang about in a disguise so that Bert doesn't see me and that we could meet up? and then after a month when Bert doesn't suspect anything they will come and arrest him and i can drive you back home
Gerard: you would do that? you would risk him seeing you just to come see me for a month?
Frank:yes of course i would Gee ... i would do anything to make sure your safe and to see you
Gerard: aww Frankie... this is the best news i have herd in months..... when will you be coming? i don't know when the next time i'll be able to call ... i can't wait to see you
Frank: i can't wait to see you either and i'm booking it now .... they have a free room for a month starting in a week.... so i will see you in a week .. i will need to walk around the area and see where everything is but we could meet in the bar if Bert isn't with you i'll keep a look out for you so if you sit down i'll come over and talk to you
Gerard: wow that soon? that's amazing i can't wait to see you ... its been so long....
Frank: i know it has ... it's going to be amazing seeing you after all this time .. i'm going to have to tell the police where you are and that i have booked the room they are giving me the disguise to wear so you may not recognise me
Gerard: Frankie i could recognise you anywhere ... your the closest person i have in my life apart from mikes .. i would know you anywhere.... i just hope Bert doesn't see i'm overly happy.... acting after calling you is the hardest thing i have to do .. apart from being stuck here without you
Frank: i know Gee its horrible knowing your miles away and there was no way of getting to yo but now look where we are ... i'm coming to get you ... we will get you home... i'm so glad your alright and i guess we will see if you can pick me out at the bar... first test before i come to talk to you i will try and be at the bar at 2pm every day and ill wait until late to give you a chance to get there if you can. on the first day i'll sit somewhere and see if you can spot me first.
Gerard: i'm so glad you didn't give up on me.... he thinks iv'e forgot about you... but how could i ? your the one who gave me hope when i ad none.. and challenge accepted i know what i will do and you'll know its me
Frank: i would never give up on you Gee ... i couldn't... i look forward to it ... i have to go now Gee .... i will see you soon okay? stay safe goodbye Gee
Gerard: i will Frankie i'm so happy .... i'm coming home ... and i get to see you for a month before you take me home .... it couldn't get any better... goodbye Frankie
* line goes dead *
"i'm going home" Gerard whispers to himself as he walks to the bar

1 week later and Bert is out with his friends again like he had been all week leaving Gerard in the house alone to do what he wanted so Gerard goes to the bar as it was the day Frank is arriving, Gerard walks into the bar and sits down its only 1:30pm so he has half an hour until Frank would get to the bar .

An hour passes and there is still no sign of Frank and Gerard starts to get worried but it's probably because Frank doesn't know the area well so might not know where the bar is yet so Gerard just waits.

half an hour passes and the bar starts filling up with people having a late lunch and travellers after a hike or fishing having an early drink and Gerard doesn't think it would be the best place to meet up with Frank because of the people that live here might tell Bert or some of them could be Berts friends so Gerard goes to the payphone again

Frank: hey Gee
Gerard: hey Frankie... just out on a walk the bar got to crowded are you alright?
Frank: yeah ... i'm still in the hotel i just saw Bert and i was scared in case he recognised me so i hid in my room ... and if the bar is to crowded do you want to meet some where else?
Gerard: if your wearing a disguise he wouldn't be able to trust me Bert was only jealous of us being friends because your attractive... and yeah.. meet me at the town hall it's not far from the hotel i'll be waiting for you behind the building
Frank: ok yeah that sounds great i'm leaving now i know where it is i saw it on my walk earlier..... see you soon
Gerard: yeah see you soon ... i can't wait
Frank: neither can i Gee .. you better get going or i'll be there before you
Gerard: maybe that's why i'm stalling i'll see you soon
*phone line goes off*

10 minuets later and Gerard arrives behind the town hall... and there is frank already waiting with his disguise on.. a small top hat with a waist coat and bow tie with skinny jeans and glasses just seeing Frank standing there makes Gerard weak at the knees and Frank hasn't noticed Gerard yet.

"*Frankie!!!" Gerard runs full speed to Frank with his arms open over joyed that it's actually Frank standing in front of him. Frank is surprised at Gerard as he runs towards him he faces Gerard and gets tackled by the taller man and they both fall to the floor. And just hold each other tightly laughing.

" i didn't think we would get here" frank says gazing into Gerards eyes
"neither did i Frankie..... it's been so long since iv'e seen you ... to be in your arms... it doesn't feel real" he says as he wraps his arms around Frank tighter and moves towards him a little.
" yeah i know ... when you rang the first time i swear my heart leaped out of my chest"
" trust me when you answered the same thing happened ... i didn't know if you would answer because you wouldn't know the number"
" i know Gee but i answered it in hope it was you... it's all i thought about sine you got taken...... i was the one that saw you were gone..... " Frank says as he tightens his grip around Gerard
they edge closer to each other and eventually kiss
after months of keeping their feelings a secret it was finally out. that was their first kiss.. filled with passion and love after months of being apart and missing each other all it took was a hug for them to fall into place and show each other how they felt.
" I love you Gee"
" I love you two Frankie" he says as he leans in and kisses Frank again
" The night you got taken... was the night i was going to tell you how i felt .. and when i saw you were gone it broke my heart and i knew i was going to find you and i would tell you how i felt when i saw you..... but i didn't think you would feel the same way.... " Frank says embarrassed
" hey don't be embarrassed... you've been the only thing i have thought about .... just wanting to see you is what drove me to put up with Berts bullshit and pretend to be happy with him just so i could get a chance to phone you ... and now we are here ..... like iv'e told you how I've felt for a long time .... ever since we started getting closer .. even when i was stuck in the relationship with Bert.... that's when i started to get feelings for you ... but no matter how many times i tried to break up with him he would just beat me and i couldn't get away ... until you helped me...."
" i helped you get out because i couldn't bear to see the guy i was getting feelings for be battered and bruised and be miserable all of the time .... i was so happy when we got close ... because we spent so much time together ... when you were gone ... all i thought about was all the horrible things he put you through and how miserable you must be.... i couldn't stand it ... i just wanted to see you smile and happy like you were when we were on tour and messing about doing silly things...."
" we can do all of that stuff when you take me home Frankie" he kisses frank again and just hugs him tightly
" i wish this moment would last forever....."
" me two Frankie but i think we should go on a walk.... have a catch up .. maybe ring mikes so i can talk to him ? let him know how i'm doing"
" yeah of course Gee lets go "

they go off on a walk along one of the old mountain paths that no one uses anymore but Gerard had grown quite fond of due to the lack of people so he knew that he would be safe going up there with Frank and they could act like a couple there they talk for hours and talk to Mikey , Ray and Bob and they have a laugh and Gerard is asked so may questions by the group and they finally tell everyone that Frank and him are a couple which of course ray suggests they have a party when they get back to celebrate that they finally had the guts to tell each other how they felt. it started getting late so Frank and Gerard went their separate ways after arraigning to meet up the next day at the mountain trail at 12pm so they would have longer together.

The month passes and today was the day that the police would come to arrest Bert who over the month went back to how he was in the past getting drunk every night and coming in at all hours of the morning beating Gerard which broke franks heart every time they were able to meet up when Gerard was able to get out of Berts way when he was passed out due to his alcohol consumption. Bert had no idea what was about to happen but Gerard had given Frank the street name and door number ready for the police to storm in and take Bert away. But it took planning as Gerard had to make sure that Bert would be in the house when the police arrived.

Gerard had managed to make sure Bert was in the house ... he was passed out on the couch after beating Gerard and he was covered in his blood which Gerard knew would add to the convictions Bert would get and longer jail time.

The police barge in and get Bert straight away they see he is covered in blood and see the state Gerard is in and Bert is arrested for kidnapping and domestic abuse. They leave Gerard with medics to get checked over and he was fine just bruising and a split lip. Frank enters after Gerard has been checked out and hugs him holding back tears.

" whats wrong Frankie? everything's alright.... it's over we can go home now.." he says with concern
" i Know Gee ... i just can't beleive he did this to you again .... "
" I know Frankie but it's over now.. this will heal and we can be happy together.... now will you do me the favour of taking me home? " Gerard says stretching out his arm for Frank to take
" hmm .. only on one condition" Frank says with a smirk on his face
" what might this be ?" Gerard asks puzzled
" you live with me "
" deal .. i wouldn't have it any other way" Gerard grins and Frank takes Gerards hand in his as they walk to the car ready for the long trip to their home where everyone was waiting for them.
