That Smell

Frank's pov


"I-I'm sorry, I didn't m-mean to." Gerard sobbed against my chest, he's been like this for about an hour now. "Shh, it's okay babe, let's get you into the shower." I said gently, I slowly helped him up and led him downstairs, I left him in the bathroom to get him some pajamas. I came back, Gerard was frozen looking at himself in the mirror. "I am a monster." He growled, he punched the mirror making it shatter. "Gerard!" I yelled making him snap out of it, he looked at the shattered mirror and then his bleeding knuckles that were already healing. "W-what happened?" Gerard asked, tears started to stream down his face again. "Shh babe, it's okay, let's just get you cleaned up." I gently said helping him out of his clothes and into the shower. The blood and dirt rincing off of his pale skin right away. His cloths were practically three pounds heavier with all the dryed blood on them. Gerard just stood there sniffling as he let me clean his body. After his shower and helping him into his cloths I got him into bed. "Gee, can you tell me what happened?" I asked softly and laid next to him, he took a shaky breath. "I don't know why I went for a walk and I got know where I was going. I ended up in the alley filled with people, they were all home less. Then everything went black, and then all of a sudden I was standing at the entrance to the alley. All of them were dead Frank, I... I killed them, I don't remember anything. I-I don't know what happened..." Gerard said and started to shake, I was a little shocked. "When this was happening I could hear their pleads, I-I didn't mean to do that Frank. They were all dead, their body parts all over the place... I don't know what's happening..." Gerard cried and buried his face in a pillow in his lap. "It's okay Gee, I know you didn't mean to do it, we will figure this out." I said gently and rubbed his back soothingly. I slowly got up telling him I was going to get him some water, he nodded and sniffled, I went to the kitchen where Mikey was. "Mikey I need to talk to you." I said, I told him everything that happened, he listened intently the whole time. "Mikey, I'm scared, I don't know what to do, I know he didn't mean to do this. I think something's wrong with him, I-I think his wolf has something to do with this." I breathed running my hand through my hair. "I've actually done a lot of resource on werewolfs over the years. I've found out a lot actually, I think this has to do with you, Frank." Mikey opened his laptop and opened up a few websites and handed it to me. I read through them and started to piece together all of this. "So it's because Gerard's wolf has claimed me as its mate and it's showing me that it can protect me, or something?" I stated my conclusion to Mikey, he shrugged and took the laptop back. "Or his wolf has gone rogue and is now taking over both halfs of him. We and mom have been talking about this for a while, he's going to have to live at our grandparents old cabin." Mikey said and started to call his mom, he told her everything.

"This is only for a few days Gerard." Mrs.Way said hugging Gerard who stood there not looking up at any of us. He stood there leaning against her limply as she hugged him. They said their goodbyes, well not Gerard who didn't say anything they whole time. I got his last bag into the car and hopped into the drivers side, Gerard slid into the passenger seat and put his seatbelt on. I started driving down the road until we got the the freeway. Gerard didn't say anything the whole time, he looked out the window. I rested my hand on his thigh, for the first time in a while he looked at me. He took my hand in his and I sqeezed lightly, he seemed to relax a little. "You don't have to come with me." Gerard said breaking the two hour silence, I watched him from the corner of my eye. "I want to be with you and help you with this, babe. I'm not gonna leave you." I said kissing his hand, he gave me a sad smile and sqeezed my hand. The drive was five hours, I drive down a dirt road for about ten minutes until we for to a pretty big cabin. I parked the car and slid out. Gerard got our bags from the back and I unlocked the door, it creaked open. Gerard dropped our bags and sighed waking around and pulling the sheets off it the furniture. I turned the lights on, the cabin was nice and comforting. "I haven't been here since Grandma brought me and Mikey here when I was ten." Gerard said getting the last sheet off the furniture. It honestly wasn't that dusty in here, Gerard gave me the tour and we ended at the kitchen. He went to the power box and turned the fridge on. He unpacked the food that we brought and then we put our bags into our room. There was a king bed that needed to be made, we found the sheets and blankets with ten pillows. All of a sudden Gerard fell to his knees clenching his chest and gasping for air. "Gee, what's wrong?" I said freaking out a bit, his eyes were sqeezed tight as he gasped for air. "I-I'm okay I think." Gerard whispered, slowly started to get up on shaken legs, his eyes were a greenish color. "Gerard, your eyes are green." I said, Gerard looked back at me shocked, he ran to the bathroom. "But... But they only change this color when I'm a wolf..." Gerard said staring at his reflection, I pulled him away from the mirror behind he could shatter this one. "Let's go get some rest." I whispered leading him to the bedroom, he let me lead him to the bedroom and helped him change out of his clothes and into pajamas, this wasn't like him at all. I laid down in bed and he crawled in resting his head on my chest. "Fr-Frankie?" Gerard stuttered quietly. "Mmhmm?" The room fell silent for a few seconds. "I'm scared."
