We Shouldn't Be Here

Gerard's pov

I sighed softly as a warm breeze swept over the mountain side. No clouds in the sky blocked my view of the perfect blue sky. I stretched and sat up, my inky hair falling into my face, I really need to trim my bangs. "Gerard?" Frank called from the house making me look up. I smiled shyly and waved as he walked over and sat down next to me. "What's up?" He asked softly as he learned back on his arms. "Just watching the day go by." I said and looked up at the sky again, a bird now flying over head. "Hey, Frank?" Frank looked at me and raised his perfect eyebrow. "How do you shift?" I finally asked, Frank smiled at me and stood up, he held his hand out to me and I took it. He pulled me up with so much force that my body fell into his. His arms wrapped around me so I wouldn't fall, my face resting against his chest. I blushed and slowly pulled away, my body feeling cold when his warm body wasn't against him. "S-sorry." I stuttered and looked down, my cheeks burning as he chuckled softly. "It's okay, I forgot about how strong I actually am." He chuckled and gave me a reassuring smile. "Okay, so the easiest way to put this is that you need to think about being a wolf. Think about running on all four legs, having fur, being wild." He said and shifted right in front of me. It came as a shock at first, his beautiful white fur blow in the wind. He walked over to me and sat down, his tail wagging happily. "Wow." I breathed and ran my hands though his fur, the soft locks tickled my palms. Just like that Frank was a person again, my hand still rested on his head. I pulled away and blushed again. "Now you try." He said encouragingly. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, the sounds around me intensified as I breathed deeply again. I could hear an animal in the woods, the river down below, and Frank's heart beat. I thought about the wind in my fur, the grass against my paws, Frank chasing after me as we played. Frank. Frank. He's so close. He smells so good. He's mine. Frank. My mate. My alpha. The voice said in my head as everything started to feel tingly and warm. When I opened my eyes I could see everything. Bright colors bancing around, animals in the woods, every tiny detail was brought to life. The wind blow caring a scent that I knew well but who was it coming from. I looked down to see two black paws, each with black claws. I jumped back in surprise as the legs followed, somthig hit my leg. A big black tail rested against it, I barked in fear. I barked. That was me, I'm barking. "You did so good, Gee." Someone said making me spin around, tripping over my own paws. A man with tanned skin, piercings, and brown hair smiled at me proudly. His smell was the one I smelled earlier, he's my mate. I whimpered softly and tried taking a few shaken steps very ended up plopping down in the grass. "Shh baby, you're just getting the hand of this." He assured as I struggled to figure out how my legs actually worked. "Alpha?" I barked up at him, my head tilting to the side in question. He just shook his head and helped me up. "That's Frank." Someone said in my head. "Who are you?" I questioned silently. "Gerard, who are you?" They answered back. "I'm a wolf." I replied and shook my head, trying to rid myself of that voice. "Don't fight it, Gerard, let yourself become one." Frank said softly and rested my head in his lap when he sat down. I closed my eyes and breathed in his smell, his hand running over my ears. "Become one..."
