Bad Management

Smitten

“Good.” His simple response came out along with that perfect smile of his. “I really have missed you.” He whispered again, pulling me too him again for another hug. We were broken up by a marshal informing us that our booth was ready and we were to follow him. Everyone grabbed their stuff and either a balloon or a gift bag as we made our way to follow the young kid directing us. I walked with Michael, his arm around my shoulder with a balloon firmly being held there. We reached our booth that had an amazing view of the stage and I noticed the excitement in everyone’s face grow as we realised this was actually happening. We all set our stuff down, before Gerard cracked open one of the bottles of complementary champagne and pouring everyone a glass.
“To George on her birthday.” He held his glass up once everyone else’s was filled, everyone clinking the glasses together as I blushed.
“Let’s do presents!” Mikey shouted excitedly as I diverted my attention over to him. “We have time.” He pulled me over to one of the seats and thrusting an Avengers gift bag in my hand causing me to laugh. I opened the bag slowly to find a new pair of Ray Ban sunglasses that were the exact same as my normal glasses that I wore all day every day, a tube of sun cream, travel sickness tablets and a S.H.I.E.L.D passport holder. I eyed him suspiciously as he just sat there with a smirk on his face. Next up Sophia walked over and handed me a small box, that if she wasn’t my best friend I would have thought was a ring box. I untied the small blue ribbon she’d carefully tied round it to revel a key with a little tag that had George engraved on it.
“What’s going on guys?” I looked round at them all as they all just stood there smiling.
“Maybe it’s your turn Michael?” Frank spoke out to him as I turned to look up at him slowly seeing him nod and get something out of his back pocket smiling over at me. He handed me an envelope that I carefully opened to find a plane ticket in it.
“I hope you missed us as much as you said.” This time it was Luke who spoke as I read the destination; Australia.
“No.” I spoke out in pure shock. I kept trying to say something, but nothing would come out.
“This is the first time I have ever seen her speechless.” Bob spoke out laughing his head off.
“You’re coming home with me…and the rest of the band.” Michael smiled down at me as I looked over at the rest of them all nodding.
“Oh my god.” I shouted out, slapping my hand across my mouth as I could feel the tears welling up.
“We figured you should see where we’re from. So everyone’s coming over.” Ashton spoke out as I stood up holding my arms out for everyone to come in, still grasping the ticket tightly in my hand.

We’d all been talking amongst ourselves for about 10 minutes after they told me what my present was. “You like your surprise then?” Michael asked from behind me, we’d took our places at the balcony ready for Green Day to come on stage. I turned in his arms that were resting either side of me on the safety bar. “I love it thank you so much.” I whispered looking up at him, standing on my tip toes to kiss his cheek which he smiled at closing his arms together slightly as though to trap me.
“Your welcome. I’m just happy I get to spend more time with you.” He whispered moving closer to me so we could hear each other over the restless crowd.
“You have no idea how excited I am for that.” I whispered inching closer to him, completely forgetting my surroundings, forgetting that my friends were all stood to the side of me, or that his friends were to the side of him.
“I just hope we live up to the excitement then.” He whispered again, this time our noses and foreheads were touching and it was no surprise that we instantly closed what little gap that was left and moved in for a kiss as I blushed. I heard the cheer coming from the arena and Billie Joe’s ringing out indicating that the stars of the show had arrived on stage. I lowered myself from off my tip toes but he seemed to follow me down, planting quick kisses on my lips as I rested my hands on his chest smiling into each of them. We stayed looking at each other for a moment longer before he slid his hands down to my hips and span me round to watch the band rip into their first song of their three-hour set, Michael’s hands never leaving me as I felt myself smile at the happiness I was feeling.

“Do you think they’re awake yet?” I heard Gerard’s rough voice come from the direction of the door. I took my time to open my eyes, but, I could instantly tell that I was not asleep in my own bed, or that I was alone. “I’m not used to having teenagers sleeping on the floor. The guys yeah but teens no.” He laughed as I heard someone smack his coat, who I assumed to be Sophia.
“Looks like we’re safe. So George and Michael huh?” Sophia spoke out quietly as I heard them go into the kitchen bit. “Did you speak to her like I told you to?” She asked as I heard the familiar sound of Starbucks cups being placed on the bar.
“Not since the plane. Did you?” I knew she’d shake her head no. “I’m glad. They figured it out themselves. How do you feel about it?” Gerard questioned my best friend as I made sure not to make a noise.
“I’m thrilled. When I went seeing her I noticed they did not stop texting each other and I had a quick word with him whilst you’s all got the cases and he is so smitten about her. She deserves that. I’ve never known her to give up on anything and she was just about ready to give up. I was scared it was on everything. He’s what she needs to get George back. I’ve not seen her smile like this since…” She paused taking a deep breath, knowing what she was going to say, “since before her dad.” I heard Gerard hum and I felt whoever was sleeping on my chest move ceasing their conversation. I opened my eyes slowly to see Michael lay in between my legs, which were wrapped around his waist and his head on my chest.
“Morning you.” He whispered looking up at me as I lazily rubbed my eyes smiling.
“Morning.” I could feel my smile that Sophia was talking about, and for once I couldn’t argue with her.

“Can I…” He didn’t finish the question he was about to ask, that I knew he was about to ask because I’d already shimmed down enough so that I could kiss him.
