Bad Management

S & G

It had been 2 months since Christmas and New Year and it was the Green Day gig we had all been waiting for. I’d kept my promise to myself and had time off from work, I hired a car and drove around America listening to new bands that I could suggests to the label as well as spending some much needed time to work things out up in my head. I’d seen Sophia about 2 in the past two months and although she wasn’t happy me going alone, she understood why I had to do it. Her and Gerard have taken a big step and I never have a male roommate as well. I’d got back to the flat about half an hour ago and I could already see most of the changes. It smelt of Gerard, his art was everywhere and more importantly he’d rearranged my DVD shelf.
“Anyone home?!” I shouted out at the door and waited for anyone to break the silence, but, nothing or nobody did. I quickly dragged my stuff to my room where I dumped it beside the door, finding a note on my bed.

We’ve gone picking 5 Seconds up from the airport for you, we will meet you at the bar in the venue.
Can’t wait to see you!
Love,
S & G x

I smiled at how thoughtful they had been as I dragged open my wardrobe doors and got changed into my bodycon black skirt and slipping my 21st Century tour shirt over my head, before adding a messy bun to the top of my head and slick of eyeliner. I hadn’t realised just how excited I was for this day. I couldn’t decide if I was more excited to see Green Day, Sophia or Michael, but, either way it wasn’t getting ruined for me. I was about to call a cab, deciding I was going to be in no fit state to drive once I’d finished, when there was a soft knock on the front door. I grabbed my stuff and ran down the hall and across the front room before swinging the door open before they could knock again.
“Hey. Gerard mentioned you were back and I thought you might need a ride over to the gig?” I looked up to see Frank staring back at me. Those eyes I could get lost in any day of the week, made me lose my breath momentarily.
“Oh erm…” I coughed to clear my throat as my head span from the lack of oxygen, “yeah that would be great, if you don’t mind?” I bit my lip as he smiled shaking his head. I grabbed my keys from the back of the door and stepped out, pulling the door causing it to bang breaking the silence. We walked down to the car in complete silence just the scuffing of my shoes when I didn’t pick my feet up properly. We reached his black car and he held the door open for me gesturing for me to get in, closing it once I was in properly. I bit my lip not really knowing how to handle this. In my plan I was going to see him at the show and we would be having too much fun to be discussing anything, then I was going to go in the studio and tell them that I could no longer work for their band, but, he quickly changed all that by being here, and being gentlemanly with me. I watched him run round the back of the car before getting in and quickly pulling off. We had been driving for about 3 minutes when his cough broke the silence causing me to look over at him.
“I’m so excited for this gig.” I spoke quietly half hoping he wouldn’t hear me.
“Me too, it’s all we’ve been going on about for like a month. Mikey even bought an advent calendar as a countdown clock.” He laughed and I bit my lip to stop anything from coming out of it. It fell silent again for about a minute and half until he asked, “You look good. Did you enjoy your vacation?” He quickly glanced over at me before fixing his eyes on the road.
“Yeah I did thanks. I never knew just how great roadside cafes were.” I laughed a little, “I must have stopped at like a hundred and they were all just amazing.”
He smiled as he carried on driving, “you went to Chicago right?” He asked, and looked genuinely interested. I nodded getting myself comfortable in the leather seat.
“Yeah I tried to remember where Bob told us we should visit and I think I remembered a few places, it was pretty cool. There was a busker there who was there morning, noon and night and she was amazing. She did covers and originals and honestly her voice was stunning. I gave her the labels card and told her to get in touch. I could listen to her on repeat for the rest of my life.” I laughed as I realised I’d started rambling on.

We made it too the venue within half an hour and I noticed everyone else’s cars pulled up as we made our way to the side entrance.
“Name.” The security guard huffed out as Frank stood behind me to the side.
“Frank Iero and George Fitzpatrick.” I smiled up at him as he scanned down the list before reaching into his pocket and producing two lanyards holding them out to me.
“Through two sets of doors, left, left, right.” He told us quickly as I nodded handing Frank his pass whilst he opened the door for me, his spare hand resting on the bottom of back as he guided me in warm building. We followed the instructions the guard gave us and we finally found the sign that said bar.
“I am so ready for a coffee.” I laughed as I walked through the door Frank once again held open for me.
“Surprise!” Everyone shouted as I looked round to the see the two bands sat at one big table with balloons and gift bags on the table.
“You didn’t honestly think we’d forget your birthday did you?” Frank laughed from behind me making his way over to the table whilst I tried to recover from the shock. Everyone got up to give me hugs and well wishes.
“I’ve missed you so much.” Mikey whispered as he bent down to hug me.
“I’ve missed you too.” I patted his back as Sophia told him to move, pulling me into a massive hug.
“Don’t ever go away again.” She whispered causing me to hug her tighter, Gerard joining in.
“Suddenly got weird Way.” I laughed pulling away as he pushed me playfully. Next up was 5SOS lads, last being Michael.
“Hey you.” He nudged me, turning to look at everyone else who were busying themselves with drinks and talking. “I’ve missed you too you know.” He smiled as I held my arms open for him. He gave me the tightest hug I’d ever felt as I breathed in his scent. Whilst on my travels I had also discovered that I could defend myself against everyone telling me I had feelings for Michael, but, when you’re alone in a hotel room and you see him pop up on your phone and that makes you incredibly happy, it’s not so easy to defend against yourself.
“I’ve missed you more.” I whispered resting my forehead against his shoulder, as he stroked gently at my waist whilst we stayed in this position for a good 30 seconds.
“Did you find what you were looking for?” He asked quietly as we pulled away just enough for him to catch me smile and nod.
