Frank Stop Staring

Chapter Three: The beautiful creature's deal

Frank puzzles his way through the hallway, stressfully trying to reach the art studio.
It was lunch and Frank felt comfortable with Mr. Way now, since it's been a week after the first day of school.
It was Gerard that suggested it first, him saying, "I don't have any teacher friends, wanna hang with me during lunch?"
Frank agreed, he enjoyed spending that morning with Gerard on the second day. And it wasn't like he had any friends at this school anyways since Jamia graduated last year.
Things were going smoothly for Frank and Gerard. They'd usually share stories during the lunch hour. Or Frank would get help with any other subjects; surprisingly, Gerard knew the basics of pre-cal.
He told Frank that in his teaching degree they would teach you the base of every year in school. Every single year... This amazed Frank, he would never go through all that shit again. But that just added to his appreciation for Gerard.
"Hey Frankie." Gerard sighed.
"What's wrong?" Frank invoked.
"Nothing," He stirs the soup in his bowl, "I'm not feeling it today."
"Was it cause I didn't come in the morning?" Frank wondered.
"No, no...I'm just having an off day..." Gerard pushed the soup away.
"Did you want to hear more stories?"
"Yeah, you got any sad ones. Sorry I just-." Gerard got cut off.
"No, its fine." Frank smiled, "I have a mild one to start off with."
"About a week ago, I was working. And this old man was sitting all alone, you know, minding his business. Well he asked for a Pepsi, but the place I work at only has Coke products, so he just decided on water. I felt really bad, cause I hate saying no, and I had to. And then to add on to the guilt, this guy brings out a picture of his dead wife. He tells me his whole sob story and I'm back there trying really hard not to cry. Oh my god, it was terrible...that day sucked ass." Frank finished, sniffling.
"Did you ever think he was lying just so you would get him a Pepsi?" Gerard pondered.
"What the hell? No-." Frank looks at him, confused.
"Just a thought."
"You have a story?" Frank requested.
"Nothing you could handle." Gerard dared.
"Oh please! I'm not a baby..." Frank shrugged.
"You sure," Gerard repeats, Frank nodded, "When I was a kid, I used to melt baby slugs with salt. Every spring when the rain would bring back the slugs, I'd spend hours throwing salt on them."
Tears welled up in Frank's eyes, "What the fuck is wrong with you? They're so innocent, why'd you have to go and kill them?"
Gerard bursts out laughing, "I knew it! I knew you'd cry!"
"Does this please you?" Frank sniffles.
"No, I don't like it when you cry," Gerard wipes Frank's cheeks, leaning in to whisper, "But I do like it when I'm right."
Frank laughs, lightly punching Gerard's shoulder.
"I'm going to have to give you detention for that." Gerard says sarcastically. He gets up from the floor, to which he didn't even know how he ended up there, to get a piece of paper.
"For what?" Frank insists.
"For being distraction to me." Gerard flirts.
"Oh please...if anything its you. You know, I should've been doing some art homework right now, but you keep me from doing that." Frank admits.
"That homework doesn't apply to you, I know that you know all that anyways," He paused, "But since you told me you didn't do it, I'll like to have it by next period, if you're any later than that I'll punish you."
"Punish me with what?" Frank chuckles.
"Detention...what else is there?" Gerard smirked.
"You have a point, but I'd like to see you try and give me detention." Frank says with a smug look on his face.
The bell rang, ending the lunch period. Gerard clutched Frank's arm, pulling him close.
"I'll like to have it before the end of this hour." Gerard whispered to Frank before he left the classroom.
Frank was actually scared to face Gerard, if he didn't have it done by next period...what would he do in detention?

Frank breathed hard, his face red.
"Here-" He gulps in air, "Here's the -um- paper you wanted."
"Thank you, Frankie..." He moves towards Frank to whisper something, "And don't be late for 5th hour." Gerard reminded him.
"...Shit!" He ran off, all the kids in Gerard's class stunned.
Frank dashed through the halls, but just at the last second a teacher called for him.
"Mr. Iero! Stop!" A familiar female voice called.
Frank almost tripped over himself trying to stop.
"Detention, Mr. Iero." Mrs. Clawfut beckoned.
"Please, no don't give me detention, please." Frank begged.
"No, you were running, and you're late to your next class." She said as she wrote it down on the slip.
"Double?" He scoffed.
Frank could see someone moving in the corner of his eye. He shifted over to see who it was. Immediately, Frank scowled. It was Gerard. Gerard was giggling behind the wall, feeling himself go into a laughing fit. Frank frowned, this was exactly what he wanted; no matter what he did to change it, he was going to have to get detention...and Gerard knew that.
"Here you go," She handed the paper to him, it saying C105 for detention, "Now go on to your class."
Once Mrs. Clawfut was out of view, Frank flipped off Gerard, walking backwards to his class.

Gerard couldn't wait until the end of the school day, he knew he'd be able to talk to Frank more and that made him happy.
"Everyone can start packing up, if you'd like, go talk to your friends...just don't be too loud." Gerard said, flipping through the papers he has to grade.
Frank hoped Gerard would let him work on his art like last time, but he wasn't sure.
After the class was empty, Gerard finally got up from his seat.
"Frankie, Frankie. All you need to do is grade these papers and you can go." Gerard ensured.
"Seriously?" Frank questioned.
"Yep, although, I have another offer."
"What is it?" Frank said, curious.
"Or you could tell me more stories..." Gerard smiled.
"I'll just grade these papers." Frank answered with a smug look.
"What?! No-o-o, you can't do that to me!" Gerard whined, feeling like a baby.
"You said I had two choices, I chose this one."
"Fine then," Gerard moved to his desk, glaring at Frank.
Frank continued grading papers for a solid ten minutes until he lost it.
"Are you seriously going to glare at me this whole time?!" Frank shouted.
Gerard scoffed, "Yes!"
"You're a baby..." Frank murmured.
"No, you're a baby." Gerard corrected.
"You're the baby." Frank repeated.
"No, I spent the entire day trying to get you in detention so that I could talk to you more. And you repay me like this!"
"Repay you like what? If you wanted to talk then you should've just offered that..." Frank gets up, handing over the papers to Gerard, "I'm done, so I'll be leaving."
"No..." Gerard pleads, "I'm sorry, I overreacted. Sometimes I'm just a real as-"
"Yes, you are an ass!" Frank agreed.
"I'm sorry. How can I make it up to you?" Gerard begged.
Frank thought for a second.
What did he want?
Suddenly an idea bursted through him.
"I want you to bring me mint-chocolate chip ice cream tomorrow, not the little one...the whole jug kind. And...You have to sing me a song." Frank smiled.
"Sounds fair. Do you have a song in particular?" Gerard asked.
Frank shrugged, "Nope, anything is fine."
"Okay. Deal?" He held out his hand.
"Deal." Frank said, shaking Gerard's hand.
