You'll Be My Detonator

"No Mikey! This isn't 6th grade anymore! We're sophisticated 12th graders..." I stood up and made a heroic pose, as if I had just made a world-changing speech
"Just ask her out already! She likes you!" I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"Well, I don't like her." I walked out of the cafeteria and brought along my lunch.

I sat under a tree in the warm weather. There was a soft breeze blowing against my face.
It was very peaceful outside. No noise, no people. Except for Gerard.
He was on a bench, eating his lunch. I also heard some soft music coming from his direction.
I took out an apple from my lunch bag and took a bite out of it.
I just kind of stared into space, thinking about 1st period. Gerard seems like a pretty cool teacher. Or maybe I just think that because he gave us a free day...

God, it is boring out here. I should've stayed in the cafeteria.
I decided to go talk to Gee. Even though I liked him (not love, like), I'd still want to be friends with him. He was Mikey's brother for pete's sake.
"Hi Gerard." He smiled when he saw me. "What's up, Frank?" He turned off his awesome
Green Day music.
"I just figured we could talk..." I blushed, slightly from embarrassment. He scooted to the left side of the bench and let me sit next to him. There was a LONG moment of silence.
"So, uh, you're Mikey's brother?" I asked and put a fake smile on my face. It was REALLY awkward.
"Yeah, I'm his older brother." He seemed proud. "I live with him. Erm.. He lives with... Me..."
He kind of pointed to nothing and stared into the sky. He must've been thinking.
"Do you... Have any siblings?" He smiled. He wanted to know about my life? I only wanted to know about his life (not that I have a crush or anything).
"I'm an only child. I live with my dad. He divorced my mom when I was like 5. His smile faded but he kept a warm expression.

"I'm sorry..." He furrowed his eyebrows. "It's really okay. I don't really care." I lied.
I didn't really like the topic about my parents splitting up. Why did I even bring it up?
"We can like talk about this later... The bell's about to ring. Wanna come over after school?"
He suggested. "Mikey loves it when people visit.
And how could I say no?

"That'd be great." I said as he un-tensed., probably relieved I said yes.
"Good, I'll see you after school. Why don't you get to class." Oh, great. He's back to teacher mode. We both got up. "Bye Frankie." He hugged me. It felt like he was trying to make it a friendly hug, but I could tell it wasn't. It had a romantic feeling to it.
I wrapped my arms around his waist (I couldn't exactly reach his shoulders comfortably).
He let out a happy sigh. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his chest.
He quickly jumped back. I mean, I wanted it to happen, but we couldn't exactly do it here.
Or, I hope that's what he was thinking...

The bell rang right after Gee left. I saw all the kids leaving the cafeteria. I leaned against a pole while watching everyone leave. I figured I would wait for Mikes until Brandon walked up.

"Hey, Frank!" He said cheerfully. His dark brown hair sat over his left eye and his face was... perfect...
I had been in love with him since 8th grade. "Uh h-hi Brandon..." I said shakily.
I couldn't help but blush. I wasn't good at talking to him. Everytime I would try, I would blush and run away. "Hey, are you alright?" He placed a hand on my back. I almost died...
"I'm fine... H-how are you?" I asked, trying to sound like I was chill.
"Great!" His smile was bright, and not just because of his braces.
"Wanna walk to class with me?" I blushed and managed to nod my head.
He grabbed my arm and dragged me to class. It's not like I could move.
