'maybe' replied hat. 'But if thats the case why would your wear his jacket? there is no such thing as more cliched than wearing th other guy's jacket'
'thats not what happened. Youre acting like ive spoken to him longer than five minutes'
Hat shrugged 'And youre acting like Pete Wentz is normal. He never actually wears that jacket, you know? he just puts it on chairs and stuff to reserve them. If its got that jacket on, its Pete's, no questions asked unless youre looking for a fight' Hat glanced sideways at Mikey, just to make sure he understood. Mikey thought he understood.
'its less awkward than a sticker saying Reserved For Pete Wentz. I can deal' He rubbed his cheek against the collar of the jacket. 'Thanks, Hat'
'Hat?' Hat wrinkled his nose 'my name isnt Hat. Its Patrick'
'I thought of you as the drum-playing-hat' explained Mikey.
Patrick shook his head 'Just a very short human, I'm afraid. No magic hats'
'Magic hats would be good'
