Song of the Chapter: Memories -Panic! at the Disco


I walked out of the washroom and Gerard was coming off the stairs. He looked over at me and nodded for me to follow him. I was so not up any knid of cofrontation or even confrontation with him, or anyone really. I wanted to just leave, but where would I go? My house was about a half hour from here. Most of which, would be spent walking. Ugh, fuck this!

He lead me into his room. It hadn't changed much from the last time I was in here. The infamous "tornado" had come through and made a mess of the place. Classic unorganized Gerard. Although, my room was really no better, so I didn't mind too much.

After I sat down on his bed, he started rummaging throught his drawers as if he was looking for something. Then he paused. He looked over to the storage drawers under his bed with a rabid squirrel look. He scurried over to the drawer and dropped on his knees. My eyes just followed him everywhere. I've always been just a little bit fascinated by him, but that's only beacause he's a really strange creature.

He arose from the floor with a box in his hand. It was small and painted black. He unlatched two golden metal locks that held it shut and sat across from me on the bed. When he lifted open the case a wave of small 4x6 images spiilled out onto the sheets. They were clearly taken with an older polaroid camera.

I remember him haviing one when we were younger. He always made sure to bring it with him everywhere we went. Every 10 minutes he'd take pictures of absolutely nothing. Some were of the sidewalk and grass, while others were of beautiful days and amusement parks. His mom used to take us all out on the weekends. Back when weekends were a good thing.
As I scanned over to scattered array of photos I saw one that really caught my attention. I reached over immediately and grabbed it.

"Is this what I think it is?" I flipped it over to show him.

He looked up and examined it. He smiled. "Ha! Yep. That's us when we were 12 with shaving cream and nail files. Ah, the timeless "We Are Men" era."

I giggled. "How stupid."

"Right!" He agreed and we both started laughing.

I started looking at different pictures in the pile. I'd recognized a few of them. ost of them were of Mikey and I. Gerard was mostly behind the camera.

I started examining one of Mikey and Gerard and I in a pyramid. Then Gerard tapped my leg. I looked up to see a photo being held out infront of me. Leaning in closer, I reached out to retrieve it from him. When I held it at a fair distance from my face it became pretty clear to see.

An immediate grin came up on my face. It was a photo of 10 yaer old me and Gerard walking at night in our old batman/spiderman costumes. The worst part wasn't the fact that we chose to walk backwards, the worst part was that it wasn't even Halloween. It was just an ordinary day.

He shok his head in embarassment as I gave it back to him.

"Wow! We really were some strange kiddos!" I laughed.

"I'm surprised Mom even told people that we were her kids. I would never admit that if my kid was that weird." He admitted.

I chuckled and nodded. I started thinking of the old times. Everything we used to do. It almost made me not want to be mad anymore. Almost.
