What are you doing to me?

I woke up at 6 in the evening and found that Mikey still wasn't back from the park.
"You guys don't know where he'd be? I know he said that he was going to the park, but it's been 8 hours and he still isn't back."
They exchanged a look before Frank answered me. "He most likely is still at the park. He will be back soon, I guess."
"What did you say to piss him off so badly?" Gerard looked at me with hard eyes.
"I wouldn't tell him where I was. I have him a vague statement and he got pissed."
"Why would you not tell him where you were? I hate to break it to you, but; he'd also going to get married. Kinda funny how marriage works, it needs two people." Frank nodded along, taking a bite out of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"I want to surprise him with it."
"You're not going to put him on the spot, are you? Because that would be fucked up" I think I just saw everything Frank has eaten when he spoke. Gross.
I hadn't thought about that, either. "I should purpose first, huh?"
"No shit, Sherlock. Now, go and find my brother."
"Fuck you, Watson." I said as I grabbed my keys and headed off to find Mikey.

He was sitting on the bench reading a magazine. Casually, I walked over and sat down next to him, draping my arm around his shoulders whilst doing so.
"Are you ready to tell me where you were?" he said in monotone.
"I was arranging stuff for a wedding."
"Oh? Whose?" "Ours," I got down on one knee and took his hands on mine, "will you marry me, Michael James Way?"
His jaw dropped and his eyes widened tremendously. "Wha- When? Wh- how?"
"In a few weeks, but I can change the date if you want. And how people get married, I suppose." I was still on my knee and holding his hands.
"I... Yes. Yes I will marry you."
I got up and hugged him. "Good, because that would've been awkward."
He chuckled. "Just a bit. So, when were you thinking?"
"Three weeks?"
"Oh, so, you wanna get married this year? While we're both still under 18?"
"Yes"
"Is that legal? I mean, could we do it?"
"With parental/ guardian consent, yes."
"Did you get it?"
"Yeah, my parents were more than happy to sign for it."
"What about me? Who signed for me?"
"Gerard. After hours of pestering him and momma fronkie persuading him." I gruffed.
"Oh." was all he said.
"Do you not wanna do it this year?"
"Well, I mean, we're both so young still. Can we wait until we're both of age?"
My heart sank a hell of a lot. "Sure, babe."

He kissed me and snuggled up against me. I didn't let him know how hurt I was that he wanted to wait. But, it hurt so much. Why didn't he want to marry me now?

After a few minutes of silence, I asked him why he didn't wanna marry me this year.
"I just think we're too young. I love you, and I wanna marry you, but I just think we should wait a few years."
"But, why wait, when we can get married now? Everything's ready to go, all I have to do is confirm one or two things and then BAM! We're married."
"I think it'd be smart to wait, just so that we have enough money to do it big."
"We can do it big when we renew our vows."
"Ray, please don't make this a big deal. you said we can put the date back, and we are."
"I meant by a month or so, not a whole 3 years!"
"5."
"5 what? 5 years?"
"Yes."
"Why!?"
"Because then we'd be in our twenties."
"And..?"
"And; we would be able to do things ourselves."


We stopped talking and walked in silence the rest of the way home. I was still feeling really hurt that he didn't want to marry me yet. Hopefully I can convince him to marry me sooner.
