Some Other Way to Continue to Hide My Face.

A day in the light, a little adventure.

Morning!

"Uggh. . . God."
I groaned, my body aching from sleeping on the ground again. I really needed to find a better place to sleep when hiding.
How long has it been now? A couple day's, maybe three at the most. Why was i still hiding? the cops should've dropped the case by now, I mean it's not like i injured anyone important, it was just a stupid drug dealer....

I let a sigh slip past my lips before heaving myself off the dirty ground, brushing off the excess dirt that clung to my black clothing.

"What should I do now?"
I had never found it weird when i talked to myself. I was alone so who else could I talk too? I mean i did talk to people but normally they were cashiers at an old stop n' shop or something like that.
But that's not important right now. Now i needed to figure out where to go. The police didn't even know who or what it is they were looking for... But it doesn't hurt to be cautious, that's the main reason i hide after feeding anyway.
I looked at my surroundings, i was in the woods again, the sun had just barley come up. the dark lighting made the trees seem as if they were twisted claws reaching for the sky. i shivered slightly as they wind howled in my ears. This was what i was used to, leave my shitty apartment, go hunt down someone, drink some of their blood then hide for a few days. It was bothersome but what else was i supposed to do?
I sighed and looked down at my feet. My black combat boots were slightly scuffed and a little muddy, but other than that they were in great shape, the leaves crunched under them as I made my way out of the dark woods.
As I walked the events of my last target flashed through my head, i chuckled quietly. The man had tried to punch me but failed and fell to the ground due to the force of his swing.

"The stupidity of people now'a day's."
I mumbled. No wonder people think I'm weird half the time, I'm a non-murderous vampire that talks to himself!
Well they dont know the vampire part but...
With a shake of my head i continued walking out of the small forest.

The morning streets were pretty empty, only a few joggers and people on their way to work littered the area. Maybe now would be a good time to shop, I was running pretty low on art supplies...
After a little internal conflict I did decide to head over to the small mall in the main part of town. I kept my head down and my hands in the pockets of my black coat, after all it was the middle of fall so the air is still pretty chilly.
I was lost in thought, not paying attention at all when a brightly colored piece of paper was shoved in my face. I jumped back slightly, my eyes flickered up to the person who surprised me.
It was a man who looked to be in his late thirties at the least, he was wearing a dress shirt and tie, his slacks were black, and his hair was a light brown that receded slightly on the sides.
"Hello young man!" He said happily "I'm going to be opening up a new shop and just want to spread the word, would you mind taking a flyer for me?" The man asked, he stared at me waiting for a response. I quickly regained my composure and took the paper from him,
"Sure thing Sir, have a nice day." i gave him a small smile before stepping around him and continued my trek down the sidewalk.
Weird... People normally aren't that forward with flyers... I guess the store must be important. I shrugged and neatly folding up the paper, shoving it into my skinny jean's pocket.

Finally I made it to the mall, only a couple teens loitered around outside while the rest bustled around inside stores. I never really got why they liked standing out in the cold just to look cool. Seriously, what's the point?
I walked past one of the groups of young boys who didn't look any older than fifteen, yet they all stood in a circle sharing a cigarette.
What was wrong with today's youth? when i was their age I was into video games, drawing, and comic books, I still do love those things but i did take up smoking at around seventeen and it wasn't to be cool either. I'm only almost twenty three now and yet i still found things younger kids did pretty odd.
I glanced at them one more time and noticed they were staring at me, i raised an eyebrow as if to say 'the fuck you want?' their eyes widened slightly before quickly dropping the cigarette and looking away.
I chuckled quietly and pushed through the front doors. A blast of warm air blew across my cold cheeks, i sighed happily and casually walked through the crowded walkway.
Only a few overly pampered adults gave me dirty looks but besides that no one bothered me, not even the workers who had the annoying job to pester you into buying some useless product. I guess they could tell i wasn't interested, or that i didn't need some shitty acne cream or moisturizer. That was one of the perks of being a vampire, my skin was like porcelain, no blemishes of any kind ruined my complexion.
Well honestly the only other thing i know about being a vampire other than that was i needed blood at least three times a week. i had only just recently been turned... That's something i don't want to think about right now though...
