Dead.

Frank seemed...distant. His mind was in somewhere else when we picked up some food for dinner. I grabbed the bag of chinese food, taking glances at Frank who didn't make eye contact. I said thank you to the cashier as I walked out the door with Frank. I handed him a bag, "Don't expect me to carry everything," I joked, hardly smiling.

He didn't laugh.

He grabbed the bag, taking it from my hands. Frank looked at the ground, not making any contact with me at all.

I asked, "Do you want to talk about it-"

"I can't believe Gerard, y'know? He's so cruel, uncaring, weak." Frank seemed angry, "I hate how this relationship always evolves him-"

"Relationship?"

"I-uh-it's complicated." Frank staggered as he wiped his hand down his face, "Really fucking complicated." Frank added, "I love him, but he's an idiot."

"Love's weird, right?" I laughed softly.

Frank ignored my comment as he added, "He's such an idiot. He's going after me, by going after you-" He paused.

"Wait, what?" I stopped in my tracks, "What do you mean?"

Frank made eye contact, "I mean," He paused, "That he's trying to manipulate you into falling in love with him, to hurt me." His words came out fast, which made it very unbelievable. Frank turned away, "Mikey, please promise me that you won't be alone with him?"

I didn't know what he was so afraid of. I wasn't going to have sex with Gerard, I would never betray Frank like that. I asked, "Just, tell me one thing-be honest with me, kay? Why did you and Gerard break up?"

Frank paused. He turned to me, "He was...aggressive-we were aggressive...together-it just wasn't a good combination."

He was telling the truth, and that made me so happy. You wouldn't understand. We've known each other for two years and he's always been lying to me, or keeping things from me. When he let's out his emotions, what he's feeling, or tells me the truth-it feels like I was re-born. I was happy. I smiled, "Okay, Frank. I won't be alone with Gerard-ever. I promise."
