Chapter Ten

The next day, I sat on an outside bench in front of a local coffee shop. I waited patiently for Frank who was already five minutes late. I waited for another three minutes before I finally spotted Frank heading toward my direction. I stood up, "You're a little late."

"It's hard for me to get up in the morning."

I rolled my eyes, "Imagine teenagers."

"Huh?"

"It's physically harder for teens to get up in the morning. It's like a 50 year-old man getting up at 05 in the morning." I placed my empty cup in the nearest trash can, "The more you know, kiddo."

Frank muttered, "I didn't come to be teached."

"And I'm not here to teach you." I said, making my way back to him, "Well, not about teens anyway. I told you to come because we need to pick out the next victim."

Frank walked past me, to the bench where I waited. He sat down, "Do you have any suggestions?"

I smiled softly as I sat next to him closely, "Well, not really. I was more focused on you than anything."

Frank chuckled, "That's the most creepiest but sweetest thing anyone has ever told me."

I stared at him, judging his smile and eyes. He had a very nice smile, and his eyes sparked when he did smile. He was a handsome man. I said, "Well, Mikey was next choice after you."

Frank frowned suddenly and looked at me, "No."

I raised a brow, "Remorse?"

"No. I just knew him longer than anyone in this god forsaken town." Frank scanned the streets of people walking by, "There has to be someone else-"

"Hello."

Frank and I looked up to a tall figure. The man looked down at us, his eyes inspected us both. I inspected him as well. He was tall, had thick hair that poofed with curls. His eyes were a dark brown, and his lips were full. A good victim, but I knew a man of the law when I see one.

He said, "I'm Detective Toro, I want to ask you two a few questions."

Frank broke out of silence, "Detective? When did we have a Detective in this town?"

"Since I was qualified." He said cruely. He looked at me, "What's your name?"

I scrorned, "Why don't you ask questions to someone else, bub?"

Toro didn't flinch, "Name."

I grabbed Frank's hand and got up, pulling him with me. I said to Toro, "I'll tell you what, if you find something that points me to the murders, then you can question me and my buddy."

Toro smiled, "You can count on me."

His joke stung me with hate. I pulled Frank away with me, "Never give out your name, kid."
