No Shows

Gerard's P.O.V

I spend the rest of the time watching Serenity. She looked deep in thought. She avoided everyone that approached her. All she drank was water. She never touched any of the snacks set out on the kitchen counter. She was really distant. Then it reached 11:30pm. She didn't look at a clock or a watch. She just made her excuses then left through the back door. I followed her. She headed towards the woods close by. Is she really going to head into the Woods at this time of night?
We're walking for twenty five minutes before I catch my foot and nearly trip up. I look down to avoid whatever I caught my foot on. I only turned away for like two minutes. But when I looked back up, she'd vanished. Last time I saw her, she was by a tree with some water trickling from it's roots. I check all around it. But she's nowhere to be seen. After an hour, I head home.
All night I worry. What if somethings happened to her? I may have been able to prevent it. Why did I leave? I should have made sure she was okay.

After a restless night, I wake up...I mean sit up. You have to go to sleep to wake up. I grab my phone and the card with Serenitys number on. Hesitating for a few minutes, I debate whether I should call her. If I don't, I won't be sleeping tonight again. I program the number into my phone. But just stare at her name on the screen. My phone starts to ring but Serenitys name doesn't disappear. How did she get my number? I press answer.
Me: "Hello?"
Serenity: "Staring at your phone won't make it ring me ya know."
I frown. How did she know?
Serenity: "I know more than you know."
What?
Me: "How..?"
Serenity: "You were watching me all night and followed me into the woods. I know you heard Arlia and me talking. I know you heard what I said to the guys about you."
Me: "Thats impossible. You couldn't possibly know all that."
Serenity: "I also know that you didn't sleep last night because you were worried about me. Thats so sweet. But I'm fine."
More than fine.
Serenity: "Thank you. Your fine too."
My mouth opened and closed as I looked around the room for a camera or something to explain how she knew what I was doing. But that still wouldn't explain how she knew what I was thinking.
Serenity: "I'll make you a deal. Meet me for breakfast. Then after we get to know eachother a little better, I'll tell you everything. Deal?"
Me: "EVERYthing?"
Serenity: "If I believe I can trust you, yes. Absolutely everything."
Me: "You CAN trust me. Deal."
Serenity: "I hope so. It can be so lonely sometimes. I would like to have someone here to talk to."
She sounded so sad.
Me: "Where do you want to meet?"
Serenity: "There's a little café called 'Carla's'. Have you heard of it?"
Me: "Yeah. It's just around the corner from me."
Serenity: "It's my regular. They treat me like a regular person. That's rare in my line of work. It's very refreshing. Anyway. Meet me there in half an hour."
Me: "Okay. See you there."
I smile.
Serenity: "I prefer that smile to the frown you had earlier. You have such a great smile."
Me: "Okay. Now your really freaking me out."
Serenity:(Laughs.)"Sorry. I promise to stay out of your head."
Me: "I'd appreciate it."
Serenity: "Okay. I'll see you in half an hour."
She hung up, leaving me staring at the phone. I've never been so intrigued by anyone before. Today is going to be interesting.

After showering, brushing my teeth and getting dressed in black skinny jeans, black Metallica t-shirt, red converse and red leather jacket, I set off. Two minutes too early, I walked into the café. Serenity was laughing at the blond guy behind the counter.
"There's no way Carla would do that." She told him.
"I'm not kidding." The guy argued. "She really did. The guy was shocked."
"I would be." Serenity wiped her tears of laughter away. "I mean how often do you get a eighty year old woman asking a twenty year old guy if he wants a blow job? What possessed her to ask him that?"
The guy shook his head. "I have absolutely no idea."
Serenity turned to look at me as I approached her. She smiled.
"Hey, Gee." She said, leaning up to kiss my cheek. She looked back at the guy. "I'll have my usual, Carlisle and my friend will have..?"
"A coffee and strawberry pancakes, please." I said with a smile as Serenity took my hand and led me to a table by the window.
"I love the views here." She said, sitting down and looking out the window at the small park.
I sat down but kept my eyes on her. "I see what you mean."
She turned back to look at me as Carlisle brought our drinks over.
"Food will be here in bout ten minutes." He said then left.
"What do you know about me?" Serenity asked after a few minutes.
"Well I know you have a friend called Arlia." I started. "She calls you 'Majesty'. Someone called Verity is missing. You have a guard called Gray who failed at his job. As a result, a close friend called Meridian is missing. Meridian is very important. You can perform magic. You can somehow see what people are doing without cameras. And you can read minds. You also do one strange vanishing act. Hows that?"
She frowned as Carlisle brought my pancakes and her salad. A salad for breakfast?
"Thank you, Carlisle." She muttered.
Carlisle smiled, then walked away.
"What conclusion did you come to about all that?" She asked as she picked up a carrot stick and bit into it.
"I thought at first that you were some kind of role player." I answered honestly.
"And now?"
"I don't know now." I took a sip of my coffee. "Not a role player though."
Serenity sighed. She drank the water down in one go. Carlisle immediately exchanged the now empty bottle for a full one.
"I really wish I could tell you everything." She said, quietly.
"You can." I pressed.
"I can't, yet." She drank the water down again. Carlisle swapped the bottle again. "All I can tell you is that I'm not like anyone you've ever met. And I never will be."
"Let me guess. Your not human." I laughed at my joke. But froze when tears appeared in her eyes and she put her head down, biting her bottom lip. "Thats not possible." I muttered. "Your not human?"
