Divided

My heart skipped a beat when I read de message and saw the signature.
"How does he know where I am?" I thought
Fire messages are tricky, you have to know exactly were a person is to be able to send a message, other wise the note can end up anywhere.
I went to the window to see if he was out there. "He has to be close, no one can send a fire message this accurately..."
At first I saw nothing, just darkness between the trees, and rays of moonlight betweens the leafs.
When I was about to give and turn away, something caught my eye, a small light, a red light, glowing in the darkness, blinking slowly "a cigarette?", I tryied to adjust my eyes to the darkness, and there he was, leaning against a tree, looking up at me. I froze in place, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"why would he come here?" I whispered to myself "he could have been caught..."
I was still looking down at him when I saw a small flame raising from his hands and heard the same crawling sound in the corner next to the window.
I looked over and there was another piece of paper there. I walked over to it and picked it up, smiling at the same handwriting as the other note.
"How are you feeling?"
I rushed to my nightstand and got a small post it notebook and a pen.
"Better, it doesn't even hurt. Thank you..."
I took the small note from the notebook and walked to the window, I searched again for Franks location and found it. I closed my eyes in concentration and my hands started to get hot, there was a crackling sound, a small flame and the note was gone. I opened my eyes just in time to see a flame next to Franks feet. He leaned down to pick it up and read it, then did the same thing, to send me a response.
" I'm glad :) I was worried about you..."
"Why? You don't even know me, I would you care?"
" Because you looked like you needed someone to care about you..."
I read the note and looked down at him, he was looking straight at me... My heart raced and my cheeks started to blush...
"Come down. I want to talk to you..." His note said
"Can't. Under house arrest, I might get caught..."
"I really want to talk to you... I need to talk to you..."
"I'll try... But no promises."
I walked away from the window to the door. I placed an ear on the wood and tried to listen to any sound that my indicate that Mikey and Gerard are still downstairs with Andrew Melt. After listening for a while and hearing nothing, I risked opening the door slowly. I looked at the hallway and the lights were off. "They're probably already in they're rooms... I hope..."
Before risking anything else, I walked over to the window to see if Frank was still there. He was.
I grabbed the notebook again and wrote
"I think the coast is clear but I can't be sure. Could you do me a favor?"
"Anything..." He answered
"Go to the front of the house and see if there's a red Ferarri in the drive away."
"Why?"
"Because if there is, I can't get out..."
I saw Frank walking away from the tree and going around the house. I waited.
I started shaking with nerves, my palms were sweaty and my heart was racing.. "Why do I feel like this? Is it because I'm trying to get out of the house undetected, or is it because of him?..."
A note appeared next to me
"All good. No car."
I smilled and rushed to the door limping. The ankle didn't hurt but I still couldn't put my foot on the ground, so I had to hop on one foot.
"how the hell am I going to do this?!" I thought. But I wasn't giving up. I took a deep breath and started going down the stairs as slowly and silent as possible on one foot.
The house might have looked modern on the inside, but the stairs were old and the wood craked under my foot, echoing through out the house. I froze. No movement, no one came to check what made that sound. I started to breath again, not realizing I had hold my breath in panic.
I was able to get to the entrance hall undetected, but now came the hard part, opening the big lock on the door without a sound, and destroying the barrier cast Gerard had placed around the house.
"I did I agreed to this, I'm going to get caught" I thought. But something inside of me told I had to go outside. I needed to see him...
I placed my hands on the lock and started to turn the key, very slowly. I held my breath and turned the key one last time, to completely unlock the door. "Here it goes...", I closed my eyes....click! The door was open... I relaxed for a little bit when I realized that no one has heard me. I opened the door and stepped outside into the night.
"Now... The barrier."
I was about to start a counter cast when I noticed something was wrong.. I didn't feel the barrier, normally I would feel something pushing me back into the house, but I was feeling nothing...
I streached my hand out the door waved it... Nothing happend, there was no barrier...
"Maybe Gerard forgot..." I thought, which was stupid, he would never forget to do something like this.
I was lost in thought when I heard a sound coming from the trees
"Pssst!!!"
I broke my line of thought and turned around to close the door behind me after checking to see if the spare key was under a small pot of flowers next to the door.
Again on one foot, I went down the porch steps and rushed to the trees were Frank was waiting for me.
"Took you long enough" he said, smiling
"You try getting out of the house undetected with a broken ankle" I told him.
He gabbed me by the waist to keep me balenced
"We should go deeper into the trees, don't want to risk you brothers seeing us"
I nodded and let him help me as we walked into the woods.
When we thought we were far enough, he helped me lean against a tree trunk so I wouldn't get to tired
We stood in awkward silence, just staring at each other. I couldn't think with him looking at me. He's eyes were hypnotic, I could hear my heart beating in my chest.
He was the one to break the silence.
"Why didn't you told me who you were?"
"What do you mean?"
"You didn't tell me you were a Way..."
"You didn't ask..."
"Is anything you told me true? You still haven't been Chosen?"
"Yes, my Chosing ceremony will be in August, at the end of the summer."
"So you're not Dark?"
"No."
He took a sigh of releaf, and he looked like he was less tense.
"Why did you want to talk to me?" I asked
"I...I needed to..." He stammerd
"Yes?..."
"I...needed to see you..."
"Why?"
"Because I was worried about you. You didn't look fine when I dropped you off earlier..."
"But I was. You took real good care of my ankle. I doesn't even..."
"That's not what I mean." He interrupted me "I mean... You didn't look happy to be home. You looked sad, and frightened...I mean, I caught you running from something in the woods...Was it from them?"
I looked at the ground, I didn't want to answer him, or even look at him....
"It was wasn't it?" He asked. He took a step closer to me. "What happend? Why were you running? Did they hurt you?"
"N...no, it wasn't like that..." I answered, still looking down
"Then what was it?" He was still coming closer to me...
"You....You wouldn't understand..."
I felt he's fingers on my chin, he pushed my chin up so I was looking straight at him. Even in the dark he's eyes left me enchanted, they looked so deep, and warm. My mouth was dry and my heart was pumping out my chest..
"Inlighten me then.." He said softly...
I could feel he's body close to mine and my back against the tree. I tried to speak but no sound came from my lips. I could feel him coming closer and closer until I could feel his breath on my face. I shivered. One of his hands was still holding my chin while the other was on my arm, touching it softly.
"What am I doing?! If anyone finds out about this I'll be in more trouble than ever!! I need to push him away, this can't happen!! I.....I...need..." I tried to listen to my brain, but my body wasn't listening... I started getting warm inside and shivering at his touch...
"This can't happen...It can't...."
He's body was pressed up against mine....
He's face was so close to mine...
