My cousin had died last month of an infection. I missed her terribly. She would come to get me and we would go out for coffee every two months. She was my best friend... actually she was my only friend ever. I really wish that they could have helped her. She was great... Ivy kind of looked like her, actually. Maybe that's why I liked her.
"Hello."
Speak of the devil.
"How long have you been standing there?" I spat venomously.
"Long enough to hear you sing." She grinned, "It was amazing!" Then we were on the ground, "Oh my god get the fuck off me!" I screeched, thrashing about. "Let go! Let go!" I shrieked. She rolled onto the floor beside me and laughed. "Shut up." I grumbled. Human contact and touching wasn't exactly my thing...
She stopped laughing after a little bit. "I was wondering if you'd like to take me to homecoming next month." She said. I groaned and weighed the pro's and con's.
Pro: I got to get out of the ward for a few hours.
Con: I had to be around a bunch of teenagers.
Pro: I'd never been able to go to any dances, so this was my chance.
Con: I had to get dressed up.
I couldn't think of anything else...
"Fine, I'll go." I grumbled after a moment. I had a month to prepare.
"Yay!" She cried out, "Lets go look for your tuxedo!" I stopped her, "I'll call my mom, she'll take me." I said, and I grabbed her phone, dialing my mom. "Hey mom." I greeted after a moment, "I got invited to some chick's homecoming..." I paused, "Yeah... I know I'm thirty two..." I stopped again, "I need you to take me to get a tuxedo..." She finally agreed. "See you tomorrow." I hung up and threw the phone at Ivy.
