*Ray Toro’s POV*
I was on my third door when I heard Frank’s screams coming from the staircase. Gerard glanced up at me before we rushed to Frank’s aid. I gasped in horror when I saw what happened. Frank was withering around on the floor in pain, clutching at his arm which had six large needles stuck embedded in it.
‘Jesus Christ, oh shit!’ he yelled. ‘Guys, help me!’
‘Don’t move, try not to move.’ Gerard hushed whilst he bent down to inspect the needles. I bent down too to get a closer look, too.
‘Frank, please try not to move.’ I said calmly. ‘There’s some sort of liquid in these needle. If you lean on pump then it’ll be injected into you.’
Gerard stood up with his hand covering his mouth.
‘Fuck, I hate needles.’ He mumbled.



‘Frank?’ someone said behind us. I stood up and pushed them into the wall, pinning them so couldn’t move.
‘What the fuck!’ they said. ‘Ray, Ray it’s me!’
‘Mikey?’ I asked, before dropping my hold on him. ‘Sorry man.’
Mikey brushed himself off before jogging to Frank.
‘Frank, what happened? I heard you yell.’ he said asked. Frank, his eyes squeezed shut from the pain, pointed at his arm. Mikey gasped.
‘Shit, we need to get these out!’ he exclaimed, turning to Gerard and I.
‘I know,’ Gerard said, pacing back and forth. ‘But you have to be extremely careful not to get any of that liquid in him. God knows what’s in them.’
Mikey nodded before turning back to Frank, who had tears streaming down his cheeks.
‘Guys, please, please just get them out.’ he whimpered. Mikey lightly got hold of the first needle. He took a deep breath and began to slowly take it out. Frank screamed in pain.
‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry!’ Mikey hushed.
‘Just do it quickly, please, oh God.’ Frank groaned. Mikey got hold if it again, and this time quickly yanked it from his arm. Frank bit his bottom lip to quieten his sobs.


After a couple of minutes, all six of the needles where laying out on the floor.
‘There,’ Gerard clapped. ‘They’re all out! You’re okay!’
Frank sat up against the wall breathing heavily.
‘Thanks Mikey.’ he smiled. Mikey returned a smile before getting worried.
‘How did that happen to you?’
‘I was going up the stairs,’ Frank replied, ‘and on the fifth stair I think I tugged on some piece of string that set off something that made the needles fly at me.’
‘Oh, no,’ Mikey moaned, sinking to the floor. ‘Before I got out of my room, this voice said that they are pulling some sort of ‘tests’ on us. Maybe that was one of them.’
‘So,’ I said, ‘this place, whatever it is, is some sort of booby-trap house?’
‘It seems like it.’ Gerard replied. I sighed. Why were they doing this to us? Who are they?
‘Come on,’ Frank said, wincing when he stood up, ‘we need to try and find a way out of here. Everyone needs to stick together and keep your eyes peeled for anything that might set off a trap.’
We all nodded.
‘Perhaps we can try the stairs again.’ Mikey suggested.
‘I guess,’ I said. ‘Frank and Gerard, you keep your eyes on the stairs and Mikey and I will keep our eyes on either side of the staircase walls.’
Everyone nodded as we started making our way up the staircase to the place unknown above us.
