Gerard's P.O.V

I stared wide eyed. "How?" I asked. "I mean...you said..."
"I know." Kat sighed. "That's what I was told after..." She paused, closing her eye's and pulling her knees up to her chest.
"After what, baby?" I asked, quietly, grabbing her hand.
She looked down at our connecting hands. "The...accident." She sighe. "I had a boyfriend when I was seventeen. I'd liked him since I was ten. He wasn't like the other guys. He was nicer. He never tried to rush me. His name was Daniel Roper." She paused as she pulled my hand to rest, still connected to hers, on her knees. "Danny got a motorbike for his nineteenth birthday. He decided to surprise me. Pick me up from school. Thing's went okay for a while." She sighed. "But when we came to a corner, a joy rider sped round and Danny tried to steer us away but lost it. We hit another car. Danny didn't...make it."
"Oh god, baby." I pulled her into my arm's. "I'm sorry."
"I woke up in the hospital." She said as she rested her head on my chest. "I never did understand the medical jargon. All I managed to get from it was that I'd damaged my womb and won't be able to have kids."
I kissed her on top of her head. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that."
We sat in silence for a long time.
"The doctor said my natural healing qualities must have healed my womb over time." She explained as she sat up to look at me. "A...are you okay with us having a b...baby?"
I rest my hand on her stomach. "Of course I am." I tell her as I pull her into a kiss. "I'm gonna be a dad."
