But little did I know...

"Hello?"
"Derek? It's Frank Iero. My band wants to record an EP, and your friend Matt told me you can help us with that."
"Frank, sure! Matt told me about you and your band, My Chemical Romance. Can you guys come to my studio today at 5 pm?"
"Of course, where is it?"
"Washington Heights, I'm sending you the address on a text message, along with directions on how to get there."
"Sure, we'll see you there."
"See you!"

I hung up and I immediately called each one of the guys. I told them to come over at 3 pm because there was a really important announcement. At 2:45 the doorbell rang over and over again. "It must be Mikey", I thought.

I ran downstairs and opened the door. Yeah, Mikey.

"I came here as fast as I could. That important announcement thing sounded, well, important. What is it, Frankie? What is it? Something about our band?" he said, entering my house.

"Yeah. I don't know if Gee told you about this. Yesterday we had lunch with Ronnie and Matt and..."
"Matt as in Matt Good?" Mikey interrupted me. I nodded. He frowned.
"Well, Matt has a friend who has a recording studio and I called him like 30 minutes ago. His studio is in Washington Heights and he invited us to go and talk about recording an EP. He sounded very friendly over the phone..." I continued.
"When are we going?", he asked.
"Today at 5 pm. That's why I asked you to come here instead of just telling you over the phone. Do you think the guys are gonna arrive soon?" I asked.
"Yeah, being something about our band, they'll arrive soon." Mikey said, smiling.

The doorbell rang again. I got up and opened the door. The guys arrived together.

"We came as fast as we could. We'd have arrived earlier, but Ray was eating menudo and refused to get up until he finished it", Gee said, and everybody glared at Ray.
"Sorry, I needed energy, and food mustn't be wasted", Ray said, chuckling. "By the way, Bob is gonna arrive in 20 minutes, he had a doctor's appointment."
"So he's officially one of us?" Mikey asked.
"Yeah", Gee said.
"YAAAAAAY, we won't have to be looking for temporary drummers! I hate that. Almost as much as I hate being asked to play drums, who told people I play drums? I barely play bass guitar!" Mikey said, and Ray giggled. "Oh, so it was you! Why did you do that? This guy Sonny Moore has been telling me to join his band and play drums! I've told him over and over again 'Sonny, I don't play drums' but he doesn't believe me!"

We all laughed. Mikey glared at us.

"Bro, you gotta admit that was funny!" Gee said, trying to stop laughing.

The doorbell rang again. I opened the door.

"Whatcha laughin' at?", Bob said, as he entered.
"Ray told everybody Mikey plays drums and now Sonny Moore is always asking him to play drums in his band, Mikey tells him he doesn't play drums but he doesn't believe him!" Gee said, trying to sound serious but at the end he ended up laughing loudly again.

"Okay, what did you want to tell us?" Bob asked.
"Oh, right, I forgot", I said. "Matt told us about a friend of his who has a recording studio and we're going to talk to him about our EP, like, right now". I gave Gee my phone. "Here's his address."

"Washington Heights..." Gee said. "Okay, let's go."

We all left my house and got into Gee's car. He started the engine, and we left, listening to Silverstein.
