A year later.

Frank’s P.O.V:

Gerard’s been acting really strange lately. He started working at a coffee shop. He leaves in a state and returns in an even worst state. He won’t talk to me. He rarely even lets me touch him anymore. He won’t look at me either. He talks to Mikey and Ray on the phone about their wedding and how beautiful and special it was, also about a guy he works with called Matthew. Matthew did this, Matthew did that. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was cheating on me with him. I shouldn’t be thinking this I know but it’s hard when he won’t talk to me. I wanted an excuse to visit the coffee shop. Luckily for me Gerard had left his name tag. Yeah it wasn’t the most important thing in the world but it would do. I got dressed quickly and grabbed my car keys and his name tag, heading out the door to Gerard.

When I arrived I saw a guy standing behind the bar. I approached him and his tag said Steve. “Hello and what can I get you today sir?” He said in a rich British accent. I gave him a small smile which he returned.”I’m actually looking for my boyfriend. Gerard, he works here.” He nodded and scanned the shop. “He must be in the back. You can go through just don’t hang around too long or the boss won’t be happy.” I nodded and thanked him as I made my way into the back. The hall was long and I heard Gerard’s voice coming from the office. I walked over and stopped in front of the door. I carefully placed my ear on the door after reading the name on the door. ‘Matthew Jules’


Matt: You will do what I say Mr. Way.
Gerard: But-
Matt: No butts. Do as I say or you’re fired!
Gerard: What more can you possibly want me to do for you?
He lowered his voice as he continued. I had to strain to catch it.
Gerard: You’ve made me cheat on Frank already. I’ve stopped talking to him, won’t let him touch me and all because I can’t stand what YOU made me do. So tell me what more do you want from me?
Matt: Finish him and live with me.

That was it for me. The tears fell from my eyes and I ran out the back. Ignoring Steve calling me back.I drove back to the house and grabbed a suitcase. Pulling my clothes from the wardrobe and drawers. Packing it all quickly. I was wrapped up in packing I never heard anyone walk in. Pulling my last jacket off the hook and turning to the bed again to put it in my suitcase, only to find it gone. I look around the room and my clothes are everywhere. The suitcase thrown against the wall. My mouth opens in shock and only then do I realise Gerard standing in front of the door. “What are you doing?” He says as his eyes threaten to spill the tears he’s fighting back. “Leaving.” I say as I push past him and into the bathroom to get my toothbrush. “I won’t let you!” he screams when I re-enter the room. “Try and stop me.” I snap. “Gladly” He says and I hear a rather loud click. I turn to face him and in his hands is a gun. He gives me a manic smile and pulls the trigger.





I bolt awake sweating like mad. I feel the tears coming and I can’t stop them. I feel arms wrap tightly around me like they’re trying to protect me. “Frankie? Baby what’s wrong?” I turn to face my Gee. Would he really leave me? “Don’t leave me please?” He pulls back a bit still holding me just loosening his grip. He stares into my eyes and smiles. “I’m not going anywhere.” I kiss him quickly and let out a sigh when we pull away.

Gerard finally tells me he has to get ready for work. His boss Matthew needs to see him today. My heart stops and my breathing gets heavier. “Hey Frankie, don’t worry. You can come with me. He wants to talk to me about you working there.” He smiles at me and my breathing steadies. “Unless you don’t want to. I only suggested it so we can spend more time together.” I nod and smile while I pull myself out of bed to get dressed. “You ready?” Gee asks as I finish getting dressed. I simply nod and we leave for his workplace.
