Gerard’s P’O’V:

How could I lose two family members in one day? I just walked out of the hospital. I couldn’t face it. Seeing his limp lifeless dead body. Why Mikey? He’s never done anything wrong. I mean sure he used to steal the cookies mother made without permission but that’s nothing. A hand on my shoulder snapped me back in reality. “Gerard?” Frank said when I looked up. I knew I lookeda right mess. Puffy eyes and a running nose. Yet he still smiled at me considering the circumstances. “Come back in. They said we can see Mikey soon.” I shook my head violently. “Gee when he wakes he will want to see you.” What? “You mean he.......he’s not dead?” Frank looked confused and the a look of realisation took over. “You must of walked out straight away, No they brought him back. He’s stable now and will be awake soon.” I stood up and pulled Frank into a hug.

Mikey was alive!

The nurse finally let us in to see him when he awoke. I was the first in followed by Ray then Frank. I sat right next to Mikey and he refused to look at anyone but me. “I’m sorry Gee.” It was barely even a whisper but loud enough for me to hear and only me, I gave him a small smile so he knew I heard him. “Can you guys give me and Gee a minute please?” Ray and Frank nodded and left. “Gee I have a question to ask you.” “Go on” He hesitated for a minute. “Grab my jacket and grab what’s in my pocket please?” I chuckled. That’s what he wanted to ask? Oh Mikey. I grabbed his jacket and pulled out his fags. I showed him them and he shook his head. I reached into his other pocket and screamed.

“Will you be my best man Gerard? I mean if Ray says yes I mean.” I nodded and pulled Mikey into a hug. At that moment the door swung open and I quickly hid the box under Mikey pillow. He watch me so he knew where it was. I turned to Ray and Frank who had worry plastered on their faces. “What happened?” Frank asked looking straight at me. “I heard you scream.” I looked to Mikey and smiled before saying “This little shit thought it would be a good idea to tickle me,” Mikey laughed and the guys just nodded. “Ray? Will you come over here please?” Mikey asked. Ray quickly made his way over to Mikey and pulled him into a kiss. “Never do that again Mikey, You hear? I can’t ever lose you.” This was falling into place perfectly.

Now I understood why Mikey was distant from Ray. He wanted to see if Ray would just give up on him. Plus I guess the nerves got to him. “Ray I need to ask you something.” Ray nodded and Mikey turned to Frank. “Stand by Gee? I want you all here to be a part of this.” Frank nodded and both him and Ray looked confused. Mikey turned to me and smiled brightly. He then reached under his pillow and pulled out the little velvet box.

Everyone’s P.O.V:

“Ray Toro” Ray’s eyes went wide when he saw the box. “Will you make me the happiest guy in the whole universe and agree to marry me?”

A minute passed and Ray didn’t say a word. His eyes still wide and staring at the box. Mikey started to shake a tears started to spill. When he let out a sob and dropped the box, Ray snapped out of it and caught the box before it hit the floor. Mikey at this point had pulled his knees up into his chest and started crying. Ray opened the box and took the ring out, placing it on his finger. He then leaned closer to Mikey and whispered “Yes!” Mikey’s head shot up and he launched himself into Ray’s arms. Ray chuckled and hugged him tighter. He couldn’t stop smiling and neither could Mikey. Frank cleared his throat and said “Me and Gerard are going to head out now. This seems like a private moment and I can already feel the heat from you two. So we’re going to go. Yeah.” With that he grabbed Gerard’s arm and pulled him out the room.

Gerard’s P.O.V:

Me and Frank went straight home. As soon as we in and the door was locked he pushed me against it. “How about we finish what we started this yesterday?” I pushed him away. I wasn’t in the mood. I mean I lost my uncle and nearly my brother yesterday. “Maybe later.” I mumble and walked past him. Frank grabbed my arms and pulled me to face him. “Fucking talk to me already! I’ve waited all day since we got told yesterday. Mikey filled me in. Gee talk to me. Please.” I shook my head. He kept saying he wasn’t giving up until I spoke to him so I simply said “How about we break my bed?” I knew he got what I meant because he stopped talking and blushed like fuck. His breathing became heavy too.He cleared his throat and smiled. “Nice try Gerard now talk!” I wasn’t getting out of this.

Thousands of tears later I’d finished talking to him. Instead of saying anything he pulled me down on the couch and cuddled me tightly. He turned the TV on for background noise as we enjoyed each other’s company. It wasn’t long before I heard faint snores coming from Frankie. “I love you” I said to him even though he couldn’t hear it. I closed my eyes and fell asleep soon after.
