Therapy

Gerard slumped onto the sofa, next to his mother.
"How was your day, sweetie?" she asked, not looking up from her book.
"It was alright I guess," Gerard answered bluntly.
"Did you make any friends?" she then turned to look at Gerard, giving him a small smile.
"Uh not really, I mean, there was this with an afro called Ray, he seemed nice" he shrugged, not seeming very interested.
"He seemed friendly, I guess, he asked if I wanted to go to his part Friday" Gerard still didn't seem very interested, which kind of worried Donna.
"You can go, if you want to, might be a good way to meet people" she said happily, watching Gerard nod in agreement.
"I guess, yeah" Gerard decided not to tell his mother about meeting Frank, he would probably never talk to or even see him again.
"Honey...Gerard?" Donna pulled Gerard out his thoughts and he smiled at his mother lazily.
"Hm, yeah?" Gerard sat up slightly, still looking at his mum.
"I was thinking about taking you to, um, therapy? It may help you feel a bit more positive.." Donna said cautiously. She watched her sons face, trying to see whether to drop the subject or not.
"Does that sound good?" she carried on, trying to get Gerard to answer.
"I don't need therapy, mum" he said bluntly, pushing himself off the sofa.
"You think I need help?" Gerard started to raise his voice slightly, getting angry that his mother had even suggested it.
"Honey, I'm sorry, I didn't-"
"Save it! I don't need help! I'm fine, I-I can't believe you said that!" he shouted and stormed out the room, leaving his mum alone. She sighed heavily and leant back in the chair, feeling a lump in her throat she let out a small sob.
Almost an hour later Gerard heard a knock at his before his brother pushed the door open, and stormed in.
"What the fuck is your problem?!" was the first thing Mikey said, or rather, shouted. Gerard opened his mouth to speak but was quickly interrupted by Mikey.
"How dare you talk to mum like that! Of course you need help, Gerard! You tried to fucking kill yourself, you're messed up!" Mikey carried on shouting, ignoring the fact his older brother was now nearly close to tears.
"I needed you, you know that right?! You're not the only one who feels like this, some of us just know how to control it better" Mikey was now crying too, but carried on screaming at Gerard.
"I can't believe you just tried to fucking leave me, Gerard! You're my older brother, you're supposed to be here for me, b-but-but you just didn't care obviously, you didn't give a fuck! I-I needed my older brother and what did he do? He tried to fucking kill himself! Do you know how painful that is?! I-I can't even- I just, why?" Mikey fell to his knees, crying. He slammed his fists against the floor, burying his face into his arms.
"M-Mikes...Mikey, oh god" Gerard scrambled off the bed and crawled to his brother, pulling him against his chest, holding him tightly. Mikey's fingers curled into Gerard's shirt. His older brother started to rock gently.
"I'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry..." Gerard repeated over and over again, kissing Mikey's forehead. He lightly stroked his hand through his brother's hair.
"I-I love you, Mikey, so so much, more than you think. I just, i'm sorry" he whispered, hugging him even closer to his chest.
"I don't know what I would have done if you had died, Gee. I-I honestly thought you weren't going to make it" Mikey's voice sounded muffled and just so sad. Gerard squeezed his eyes shut, desperately trying not to cry.
"P-Please go to therapy, Gerard. Please, please please? I want you to get better, I don't want to be scared of you trying to do that again" Mikey let out a small sob but finally calmed down enough to look at Gerard. Gerard nodded his head gently.
"I'll go, okay" Gerard whispered lightly and squeezed his brother close, just holding him and rocking gently.
