Give Me Blood

XVI

When Jamia received that message with the photo, she could do nothing but laugh out loud.
She didn't even know why, there was nothing funny about it. Her subconscious was probably being sarcastic. That had to be the reason, because it really wasn't funny.
She looked right through Frank, she knew him pretty well.
He wasn't fine with the way things were, she could see it in his eyes, even through the photo. They were holding a pained expresssion. It was well hidden but Jamia could detect it anyway.
It was obvious that Frank wanted to convince her otherwise, so she would stay out of his love life.
She knew that his biggest fear was losing Gerard and that this was the reason he'd never tell the other man about his feelings.
But Gerard had to be blind to not see it for himself.
They were cuddled up together on that picture, Gerard sleeping with his head on Frank's chest .
That was quite normal. Well not exactly normal. A normal situation for the both of them but definitely not normal for two people who claimed to be nothing but friends.
It was pretty clear to Jamia that they were a lot more than that. But it was also clear that they wouldn't act on it on their own accord.
She knew that Frank would do nothing that would risk his friendship with Gerard and while she was sure that the other man felt the same way about her husband, she had no idea if he even knew it himself. The two of them were made for each other and it felt like she was the only one who could see that.
Frank had left her but it wasn't his fault, love was not a choice, so Jamia still wanted him to be happy. And being with Gerard was what made him happy.
No matter what Frank told her, she knew that he was unhappy with the situation and suffered.
So Jamia knew that they were both in love with each other, but she also knew that they were too blind to realize that.
Somebody would have to give them a little push in the right direction. Or maybe a not so little push. Yeah, only a massive push would do, she decided.
And that somebody was most likely going to be Jamia herself. But how was she going to do that? Someone would have to talk to Gerard about it.
It couldn't be her, though, Gerard would be wherever Frank was and Frank would be way too suspicious to leave the both of them alone together. No, there was no possibility that she could do it herself.
Lindsey on the other hand could easily get him alone. And she would also be able to talk some sense into him.
Lindsey and Jamia were friends, too.
But this could also be a risky plan. She didn't know what Lindsey would think about her husband being in love with another man. Would she even believe it?
Well, Jamia had proof. No tangible proof, of course, but her intuition counted for something, right? Probably not in Lindsey's eyes.
But she must have noticed something too. Maybe she was just as blind as the other two? No, Jamia didn't think that. She knew her well enough to know that she was more like herself, concerning this kind of things.
She had to at least talk to Lindsey about it. Maybe she'd agree.
Jamia had to try in the name of love.
That was the right thing to do. Or was it?
What about Bandit? Jamia hadn't thought of her before. She'd probably be heartbroken. Gerard had a family that he most likely didn't want to lose. Jamia had no right to interfere with that. It was his decision to make.
But what if he was just as unhappy as Frank was?
Lindsey would understand. Maybe.
The only way to find that out was for Jamia to talk to her about it. She just had to approach the subject carefully and then see where it'd be going.
She grabbed her phone, unlocking it. The photo that Frank had sent her was still on the screen.
'I'm sorry, but somebody has to do something about it', she whispered, before tapping on the touch screen a few times, finding Lindsey's contact and tapping the call symbol.
It occurred to her that she had no idea where the other woman currently was and she just hoped that it would be a reasonable time on the other end of the line.
It rung a few times, before there was a faint click and then Lindsey's voice said 'Hello?' through her speaker.
'Hi. It's Jamia', she answered.
'Oh hey, I haven't heard from you in a while. What's the occasion?', she laughed.
'Well, how's life?', Jamia asked, keeping it vague.
'It's great! The tour is amazing!', she gushed.
'That's good to hear. How's Gerard doing?', Jamia tried to sound as inconspicious as she could.
'I don't know actually. We haven't been talking a lot lately'. Lindsey sounded a lot less upset about that then Jamia had expected her to be, nearly not at all.
'Is everything alright between you two?', Jamia asked timidly.
Lindsey sighed heavily. 'Not exactly. I feel like we've kind of grown apart. The feeling isn't the same anymore. I've been thinking about breaking it up but I'm scared about Bandit's reaction. And I don't want to break his heart, he means so much to me.'
Jamia sighed in relief.
'If that's so, then I have a proposal to make', she smirked down the line.

Notes

I'm sorry. First school was a burden with all the exams and stress and then I was writing something for the bandom secret santa thing on tumblr and then it was christmas and family stuff came up and then I was typing the chapter and when I was halfway done accidentally deleted it. That was so frustrating. Long story short: I really am sorry but life got in my way. Enjoy anyway ❤
