Wishing We Could Start Again

Waiting on the world to change

Traffic was non existent driving to my house. Normally sophomores aren't allowed to drive their car to school because they don't have enough spots but every few years they give out a free spot to the person who scored the highest on the driving test. I passed with a perfect score and now I have the spot, which comes in handy. I parked in my driveway and grabbed my keys to unlock the door but my mother who was inside beat me to it, which was strange because it's usually vice versa. As soon as I walked in I felt that something wasn't right. My mother had an air of tension and nerves around her but I shrugged it off thinking it was probably miniscule, I said hello to my mother and headed to the kitchen to go make myself some tea before dance practice, which started at 8, but it was only about 4:30. As I put my favorite mug filled with water in the microwave, my phone started to vibrate so I checked it, probably someone asking for a ride to or from dance. I was wrong, it was actually Jamia asking if I could watch the little ones later in the week. I, of course, said yes. Their three children are adorable. My mother asked my how my day went and I said "Good I" my sentence was cut off by a knock on the door, and my mother basically ran to go get it. I decided to just peek my head out into the main hallway as I put my tea bag in my now hot water and see who it was. Standing there was a woman who looked hauntingly familiar, and a girl who looked about seven or eight. I decided to eavesdrop on the conversation and heard "....... I tried talking to Frank, telling him we were in town but he said that he was busy with the twins and to call him back later." Frank, as in my drama teacher? That question was shortly answered with " Mikey said he'd stop by Frank's office and tell him, but we haven't spoken since we agreed we'd stay at his apartment a few hours ago...." I stopped listening just about then because the little girl started waling towards me. I kneeled down so I could be the same height as her and I said hello. She smiled and said "Hi my name is Bandit." I stuck out my free hand and said "Hi Bandit my name is Katie. Nice to meet you. We shook hands and began a little conversation. Than the woman, who I'm guessing is her mother turned and looked at me than muttered Katherine as she dropped the mug she had brought in on the ground with a crash. It was strange, because I asked my parents to change my name when I was a freshman. Than the woman shouted " MY DAUGHTER IS STILL ALIVE AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" "Huh?" was all I asked before it clicked why she was so familiar and all faded to black.

Notes

This is the third time I have had to type this and it's only slightly on my nerves. I'll probably but posting either every day or every other day depending on how bad my homework gets. Sorry if it's complete crap. Chow! -Katie
