Saturday

Jane and Frank walked up and over to the main camp are, and it turns out they were right: dinner was being served. They both grabbed a plate of food and sat down at one of te emptier picnic tables underneath the pavilion. They sat right next to each other so they didn't have to sit next to anyone else, which Frank greatly appreciated. Plus he got to sit closely to Jane and examine her features once more. She was truly beautiful, and Frank wanted to keep staring at her. Which was totally creepy, and eventually he became aware of it, blushed, and looked back down at his plate while Jane made small talk with the people around her. He marveled over her ability to do this. He had next to absolutely no social skills whatsoever. So he quietly ate his food and marveled in the aura of what appeared to be Jane's certain perfection.
After maybe 10 minutes of eating and murmuring, Lindsey, the camp leader stood up on one of the tables. "Hi, guys", she announced in a loud voice, and the pretty much quiet group of quiet kids hushed their small talk. "Hi", a few voices called back. Lindsey smiled. "So I just wanted to obviously say hi again and personally thank all of you for coming. Since you're here this means you're on the path for getting better, whatever 'better' might mean to you. It's going to get better, I promise you. By the end of the month I can promise things will be better. I don't know HOW much better, but it'll be a start. So thanks, guys. You deserve my gratitude", she said confidently. There was a small applaud for her and she smiled even bigger. "Thanks!" She exclaimed. "Now, I told you guys earlier that there aren't going to be many things planned out for the month, this is your guys' time. But tomorrow morning around 11, after breakfast, we'll have a 'meet and greet' type of deal right here underneath the pavilion. Meet some new faces and maybe make new friends for the month ahead. I encourage you guys to stop by, but if you don't that's fine. There's plenty of other ways you can make friends here at Brighter Futures", she finished cheerily. "So that's all I have to say, enjoy dinner guys", she said and finally sat down. There was another small applause before everyone resumed eating. Jane turned to Frank. "Are you going to go to that tomorrow?" She asked. He shook his head. "I'm not exactly the 'meeting people' type", he said sheepishly. She smiled slightly. "Me neither", she said and bumped his shoulder with hers playfully. This made him blush awkwardly and he chuckled a little as he felt his heart rate go up slightly.
After dinner people began to meander back around the camp and towards the cabins. Frank and Jane walked back to their cabin together. Jamie and Ray were sitting outside the cabin chatting like they had been friends for years, and now they were old men, having a laugh over the past.
Jamie looked up at Frank and Jane with a smile. "Hi, guys", she called as they got closer. "We were just discussing it, let's have a fire right here tonight!" She said and stood up, gesturing towards the fireplace. It looked like it hadn't been used in a few summers, and the rocks surrounding the pit looked worn and burnt. But it looked well enough to have a fire in it. "I don't see why not", Jane said and looked at Frank, who smiled slightly back at her. "Let's go for it", he said and they both walked over to the fireplace, where Jamie began collecting sticks and logs from a nearby pile to begin the fire.
