Behind Amber Eyes

Look At All That Pain

Korse

"Is she here?"

"Yes," replied Korse with a grin. "She is in the basement."

"Should we sent backup?"

"No. We will let her come to us."

Harley

Harley had gotten hold of BLInd software. She used her training skills to hack the security cameras and take herself off the grid. She deleted all of the information they had on her past life. It was almost as if she had never existed.

Proud, Harley continued finding her way through the basement of the building. She climbed up stairs and walked through hallways, until she was certain that she had made it to the experimention lab. There were so many rooms, all ocupied by people.

Harley cautiously made her way down to the end of the hallway, where she knew was another staircase. People were going mad in the rooms. There were people who were talking to themselves, people who were bleeding from their eyes. It was terrifying what Korse did to all of these people, testing the drugs on them. Their lives had been ripped away, all for the purpose of seeing a potential side effect.

Harley was almost to the endof the hall, when she noticed an empty room. The raised an eyebrow. The rooms were usually all full of test subjects, and she didn't know why this one would be an exception.

She walked over to the empty room and read the discription in the window.

Subject: Ellie McCoy
Age: Unkown
Experiment: Classified

Harley began to feel sick to her stomach. There had to be another Ellie McCoy. She didn't remember the experiments, unless they wiped her mind. It just made no sense? The test subjects were usually exterminated once BLInd collected the information that they needed, so why ould she be an exception?

Harley turned away as fast as she could. She couldn't bare to see that empty room anymore - the room that was meant for her.

Eventually, she found the staircase that lead to the top floor, the floor where she knew Korse would be.

Luke

"We lost her."

"No we didn't," smirked Luke. "This was exactly what was supposed to happen." He looked over at Michael. He raised an eyebrow.

"I thought we were supposed to catch her, not let her get away."

"Ah, Mikey boy, but that's not what the boss wanted. We do everything the boss says."

Michael nodded. "What now?"

"Now we wait."

Harley

She had made it. She was only steps away from killing the man who took everything from her. Just one bullet to the head, and it would all be over: BLInd, the experiments, the drugs - everything. The door was right in front of her. One hand was on the handle, one on her gun. Slowly, she turned it and walked in.

Just as she guessed, Korse was there, looking out the window. She crept up to him, making no noise whatsoever. She positioned her gun, when Korse started to speak.

"I have finally evolved the gene to react to my voice, so if the host is withing earshot, I can send radio signals through me talking."

What? Harley had no idea what he was talking about. Maybe he thought she was someone else. The thought was replaced with a different one when she focused back on her task. Her finger brished the trigger when Korse spoke again.

"Let's test it out," he said. In an instant, two people grabbed her from behind and secured her arms behind her. She tried to break free, but their grips were too strong. Korse whipped his head around to face her.

"How did you know I was here?"

"Oh, we've known for a long time," he answered, coming in to whisper in her ear. "It's a shame you had to find out this way."

Harley flinched when she heard his voice to close to her ear.

"Let me go!" She yelled to the people holding her.

"Not so fast," said one of them. Luke. "You'd miss all the fun."

"Bastard," she spat.

"That's not nice," said the other one. The whipped her head up to see the other man.

"Kobra?" She whispered. He looked so blank, so dull.

"That's not who I am anymore."

He was gone. There was no trace of Kobra left in that body. They had taken away his identity.

Harley felt anger bubling inside of her. She had never felt this betrayed before. Her brother and a Killjoy for crying out loud were keeping her held back as Korse mocked her.

"Where's Dr. D?" She demanded. Might as well, right? She wasn't going to get the information any other way.

"Oh," started Korse, "he's not here right now."

"What do you mean?" Blurted Harley. Pony said that the dracs took him along with Kobra.

"Oops," whispered Luke in her ear. Harley then understood what Korse meant before.

"You killed him, didn't you?" She wimpered. Korse shrugged. "YOU KILLED HIM, YOU BASTARD!"

Luke laughed, which only infuriated Harley even more. The anger that was bubbling in her trippled, quadrupled, until she leet it lose.

She broke free of the grasp of Kobra and Luke. She punched the two in the temples, making them fall to the ground unconcious. She then turned to Korse, raising her gun to shoot.

"Drop the gun," he said. Harley looked at him.

"Make me," she spat. She looked at the gun in her hands, or more like the gun that was in her hands. Without realizing it, she had dropped the gun on the floor.

"Good girl, now come to me." Harley felt her legs move, and she couldn't control it.

"What are you doing to me?" She cried out. Korse grabbed her face.

"That doesn't matter, does it?" He said, tightening his grip on her face. Harley was struggling against his pressure, but he was too strong.

"Stop struggling," he cooed. Involuntarily, Harley stopped moving. She couldn't move her body, no matter how hard she tried.

"Please stop," she cried. Her voice was shaky with fear and her tears were falling so rapidly, she could barely see.

"Don't worry, little Ellie. It will all be over soon. Just go to sleep, and it will all be over."

Harley suddenly felt drowsy. Her eyelids got heavy, and her breathing slowed. She couldn't stay awake much longer, no matter how hard she tried. Eventually, she gave in and let sleep wash over her.
