"Oh my God man! Just tell us already!" Mikey threw his hands up in the air, he and Gerard had been sitting in Ray's living room for over twenty minutes now awaiting the 'big news' they were promised.
"Chill out, Alice and Frank are on their way now, they'll be here in a second."
"Well, it better be fucking worth it." Gerard sighed and sat down on the sofa he'd been pacing the room for too long trying to pass the time.

There was a loud knock on the front door and Ray ran to let Frank and Alice in. He greeted them with a huge smile and a friendly 'hello' but Frank was in the same mood as the guys. Ray didn't know it but he'd called at the exact wrong time.
"Dude, this news had better be as huge as you're making it out to be!"
Ray just rolled his eyes at the comment, he'd already heard it enough to last a lifetime in the last half hour. He ignored Frank and gave Alice a warm hug.

They followed him into the living room and sat down on the sofa beside the other two, as Ray instructed them to do. "Okay, are you guys ready?" He asked and there was as simultaneous slur of cursing and 'get on with it' from everyone.
"Alrighty then!" He chuckled at his friends' impatience. "So, obviously you guys remember we played that bar in the city a few weeks ago?" They all nodded. "Well, I've been talking to that guy who owned the place, Bob, a lot recently. He's a pretty cool guy. Anyway, he told me this morning that their usual band is leaving because they got signed by this record company guy that saw them play there a while ago." Ray tried to contain his excitement, the others though, didn't know what to be excited about.

"So?" Mikey asked.
"So, he also told me that they've tried out a few bands but none of them got as good a response from the crowd as we did when we played there." Ray explained.
"So?" Gerard leaned forward in his seat, he could see where it was going but he needed to know for sure.
"Well, Bob wanted to know if maybe we could take over as the house band, we'd be playing five nights a week, there are two open mic nights every week that we wouldn't need to be there for. And we'd all get payed. He wants an answer as soon as possible."
A smile was still firmly plastered on Rays face, it really didn't look like anything could budge it. Everyone else just sat in utter disbelief, staring at Ray and half-trying to make sense of the entire situation. This was a bar that they went to, that other people actually went to. Frank was the first one to speak, "Are you serious man? Because if this is some kind of joke I swear to God..." He jumped from his perch on the sofa and paced around the room.
"One hundred percent genuine offer my friend." Ray patted Frank's shoulder. "Shall we put it to a band vote?" He suggested, "All those who want me to tell Bob yes?"

Alice watched as all of the band mates jumped and shouted far louder than she thought they were capable of, all hugging each other and making unintelligible but excited sounds. "So that's a yes then! I'll go make the call" Ray left the room, moving out to the back garden to call Bob and accept the offer.
Frank turned to Alice, "Hey, get up! You have to celebrate to!" He pulled her from her seat by the arm and wrapped his hands around her waist, drawing her close.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" She spoke, and gave him a deep, excited kiss. Eliciting disgusted moans from the brothers standing not two feet away.
"Look guys, I'm glad you're finally together and all but cool it. It's like every time we're with you guys, you need to be pried from each other with a crow bar before you stop making out. Chill!" Gerard groaned.
"Hey buddy, as I recall, you are the one that made this happen!" Frank countered.
"Yeah, that's technically true. But I had no idea how gross you two would be!" He joked.
Alice interrupted, "Hey, you're not one to talk. I don't think I've been around you and Lindsey for more than fifteen minutes before your hand is up her skirt so..."
"Hey!" Gerard almost defended himself before thinking, "Oh no, that actually sounds about right. Never mind."
