Kids in Love

Frank's eyes widened. What had he just done, had he really just asked this girl out or was it just some horrifying nightmare he was trapped in. Immediately he began to play out the worst scenarios that could happen. What if she turned him down, how could he possibly get over that. Their friendship would be totally destroyed and the entire rest of the summer would be uncomfortable. He wasn't sure whether it was Gerard's fault or his, maybe it was both, either way he knew he was going to yell at someone later when she said no to his insane proposal. But she didn't.

"Um, yeah?" Alice said, not fully realising what was happening. It kind of felt like one of those scenes she played out in her head when she's bored. Frank asks he out, she accepts and then he swoops her up into his arms and they ride into the sunset. At least that's how she thought it would go. This, this was not how she thought it was going to happen, Gerard, Lindsey, Frank and herself all stood in silence. Alice thought about the question again and snapped out of her own head. She turned to look right a Frank who still had his hand cupped over his mouth, and spoke an assuredly "Yes, I'd really, really like that." She couldn't keep the smile from spreading across her face.

Frank genuinely couldn't believe what was happening, had she just said yes? "What, really?" he asked as walked all the way down the stairs slowly to stand in front of her. She laughed lightly.
"Yes really!" she said grabbing him and pulling him into a tight hug.
"All right!" Gerard practically shouted, clapping his hands slowly, "Finally!". He turned to Lindsey and leaned in to her, "Hey, would you like to get some coffee or something and leave these guys alone. I'll explain all of this properly later." he told her, she nodded and grinned. The two of them went through the front door, leaving Alice and Frank standing alone together in the hallway, still enveloped in a firm hug.

When they finally let go there was a small moment of silence. "So?" Alice said, "Do you maybe want to watch a movie?". Frank just nodded, a smile stretched across his mouth. They walked up the stairs, Alice walking first a pulling Frank by the hand, leading him into his bedroom. He began to look at her confused.
"Wait, I don''t have a TV in my room, we can't watch a movie in here." he explained, she smirked.
"I know." Grabbing him by the collar of his white t-shirt she pulled him in close to her so their bodies were tight against one another.
"Oh." he placed his hands on the curve of her back and held her, closing the space between them entirely. They both breathed heavily, it was obvious that this was something the two of them had wanted for a while, whether the actually knew it or not, so why were they so nervous.
"It's not like we haven't kissed before." Frank tried to brush it off.
"Yes, but, we were kids so..." Alice thought. He could feel her heart beat through her chest, it was pounding louder than he'd ever heard it.

Frank sucked in a deep breath, "Fuck it!". He quickly moved his hands up to either side of her face, moving close and crashing their lips together. Alice's hands moved up into Franks hair, tugging gently, pulling him closer. Her lips were even softer than they looked, they felt more amazing than Frank could ever have imagined. He pulled away after a short but passionate kiss and gave her a questioning look, "Well?" he asked.
"Do you remember when I got here and you asked me about, um, about my first kiss?" she asked, her hands still firmly in his hair, he nodded, "Well, as far as I'm concerned, that, that right there was a real kiss. Not quite my first kiss, but it was the first kiss I've ever had that felt like, like, well that!"

Just as Frank leaned in for another he heard the door open and slam closed beneath them, "Frankie dear, I'm back!" Frank's mother shouted into the house, "Come and help me with the shopping!". He groaned loudly, without taking his hands off her he moved in and gave her a quick peck on the lips. Before moving to leave the room, he reached the door and turned to face her, he spoke, "To be continued." and winked.

Here you go, enjoy! I hope everyone's doing well, any news? The summer's winding down now and everyone seems to be just getting ready to go back to school and stuff so no one's doing fun stuff any more. The last week or two before school starts back is a weird kind of purgatory where you're still trying to enjoy summer but you've still got all of this annoying anxiety and stress lurking around. Just, ugh!
