The Other Half

Before~
I ran as fast as I could through the acid rain to the BLI Company door way as the rain pierces painfully into my skin.
I ran through the doors and quickly shut them before the tried to break in. I quickly take my coat off and hung it by my father's. I ran to the girls changing room and changed into my lab uniform, after that I ran to my crystallization office and began to work. As I take out a cylinder with a life crystal, the intercom bursts in my office:
LILY MAY PLEASE GO TO MR. MAY'S OFFICE.
"Dang it." I said to myself, putting the cylinder back in its applicator, and heading for my Dad's office.
As I walk down the hallway, I look at the posters on the paper white walls. I slowly read the names of each outsider until I finally find the doorway to my fathers room.
I lightly knock on the door and no one answered, a vampire down the left side of the hallway was putting up a new poster. When the vamp left I walked over and stared into a poster of a new boy.
Party Poison, commander of Killjoys.
I stare at the boy's face closely, though his eyes were covered by the red X. I never knew what those red X's are truly I've always wanted to know what his eyes are like. I gently touch the picture as if I was touching the side of his jaw, I slowly sketched his face like a painting, looking around for anyone watching me. Sadly it's illegal to draw, the only time you draw is when your 5-7 years old. But I draw all the time, sketching and drawing what the town would look like without all the black clouds, with beautiful colors like blue, green, yellow, orange, red...
"Lily," I quickly stopped and find my dad, who smiled and chuckled. "Your doing it again."
I look down and blushed, he laughs. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"Thank you dad." I said, slightly smiling.
"Now come," he says, taking my hand and walking back to his office. "I have a few things I need you to do..."
We went to his office and sat down in a seat infront of his black desk. He sat down in his seat and folded his hands together, smiling. "Lily, I must tell you that you are a wonderful child, and will never stop thinking of you as one." I smiled, every time I come in to his office he compliments me like I'm a queen.
"And I need to ask you one thing..." He all of a sudden frowns. "Do you like that boy?"
"The one on the poster?" I ask, slightly confused.
"Yes, that one."
"No, I don't. You already know I'm matched with Kellin, why would you ask that?" I asked, slightly confused. To be matched means that you can't be with anyone, but the one that has the other heart. When a child turns 15, a crystallizer gives them a heart, and with that heart you have to find the other person that has the other piece of your puzzle of love. That's called a Match.
"No reason." He said, he quickly stood up and walked over to a tea machine.
"Now, when you go home I want you to know that I'm gonna be late," he said, taking a sip out of his white cup. "I have a buisness meeting to attend."
"Oh." I said and stood up, brushing off my uniform. "Is that all?"
"Almost," he opens a drawer and takes out a cylinder with a broken crystal, blue colored with emptiness. I gently take it into my hands and stared at it with content. "A vamp guard in the outside barrier was attacked and killed, I need you to re-crystallize it."
"Of course." I walk towards the door way but stopped as he cleared his voice.
"And lili..." He said as he turns around, sighing. "Stop looking at the posters, I've been getting rumors."
"Yes dad."
I left and as I went back to my office, I take a quick glance at the poster I was trying to sketch.
Party poison?.....

I finally get the dead crystal stabilized and sent to the hospital where the vamp is held. After I change back into my regular clothes, I find a package on one of the benches by the changing doorway. I picked it up and looked at the address.

I sighed and walked down the hallway to his office, I look around me and stopped, looking at the boy's face. His jawline, his red hair, his lips, all of it was so intreaging I couldn't help but stare, trying so hard to keep that picture in my head. Before I was able to truly mesmerize his face, I shook my head and walked over to his office and put it in his mail slot.
All of a sudden a scream makes me jump out of my skin, I gasp and stagger, my chest burning with fear and pain. I look over to his office and hear another scream burst out of the room, I quickly run over and gently put my ear on the closer door.
"Where is it?"
Dad.
He was talking to someone, I put my ear closer to the door and heared coughing.
"I'd rather die than tell you.." A boys voice echoes.
"Then so be it..."
The boy started screaming again and my chest slightly burns with pain again. I quickly open the doors and find my father looking down to the same red haired boy from the poster, on the ground coughing and screaming with pain. Next to them were the other boys from the posters, pounding and screaming at my father through the glass that contained them...
Now~
"Dad?"
He turns around and stares into my eyes, he bolts over to a white computer table and pressed a red button. The boy stopped struggling, gasping and coughing with pain on his back, wincing at every breath he took. I stared at him with fear in my chest, the boy looks up to me with pain in his blue eyes. His lips started moving into words and I try as hard as I could to find what he was saying:
Help
He repeatedly said that word until his eyes slowly rolled backwards.
"Dad, what's going on?" I said, still staring at the boy.
"Um, c'mon sweety lets get out of here." My father said, walking over and escorting me out of the room with his hand on my back. I look back and watch as a vamp guard put a glass casing around the boy as the door shuts between me and the devistating sight.
