When I got home, mom was working late and Ray and Mikey were doing a project together, so I had no plans. We didn’t have any videogames left that I didn’t finish or any movies I hadn’t already seen, so I grabbed my coat and went to Frank’s house. The walk felt like it had taken forever, when in reality it was only about 20 minuets. I walked up the empty drive way and stood at the door for a moment. I hesitantly knocked, slightly wondering why I was here. Lyn answered the door in black volleyball shorts and a tight, blue tank top. I swallowed hard, trying not to look at her chest and think about Frank instead.

“Gerard,” She smiled. “Come in,” She gestured me in and I sheepishly took a few steps into the big house.

“I-is Frank here?” I asked.

“No, he’s not,” She replied, “But he’ll be home soon if you want to wait,” I really didn’t have anything better to do, so I said yes and sat on the sofa.

“Want anything to drink?” She asked looking in the fridge. “We have soda,”

“Do you have Coke?” I asked. She nodded and walked one over to me. I said thanks and returned to being quiet. I’m not going to lie, it was awkward as fuck, but I kind of enjoyed it.

“So,” She started, “What are you and Frank?” She sat on a chair across from me, criss cross while sipping a sprite.

“Uhm,” I coughed. I didn’t expect her to bring him up, though it’s not that surprising that she did. “W-what do you mean?”

“Like, boyfriends? Fuck buddies? What?” She looked genuinely interested in the question, as if we had been friends for years.

“I’m not really sure,” I said looking at the ground in front of me, thinking. “We haven’t really talked about it,” Which was true, we never did talk about it. We stayed silent for a moment until her phone buzzed. She picked it up off the table and examined the screen, letting out a sigh. I stayed quiet, hoping it would blow over momentarily.

“I-I think I’m going to go. Uh, tell Frank I came by,” I flashed her an awkward smile.

“No, no. It’s fine. I’ll just… Go to my room.” She stood up and started out of the room.

“Really, it’s fine. I think my mom’s taking me somewhere later.” She stepped closer, almost invading my personal space.

“You’re lying” She smirked, getting even closer. I could feel my face getting hot. A spark of bravery flicked in my brain and I moved closer to her, feeling her breath on my face.

“You see right through me,” I said so quietly it was less than a whisper. Our lips brushed together, making my skin tingle all over. Fuck it. I pressed my face against hers with more force. It felt so weird to kiss a girl after fucking a dude. But I did it anyway because it made my limbs go numb and my lips turn upwards. Her hands moved up my sides and suddenly it hit me what was going on. I was basically cheating on Frank. But my lips felt glued to hers.

Click, click… Swoosh

I froze when the realization clicked in my mind. I felt Lyn tense as well.

“Ge… Gerard?” His voice sounded confuse and when I looked at him, looked at his eyes, they shined with hurt.

I backed away from Lyn, still starring at Frank.

“I…” I grabbed my jacket, pushing past Lyn, causing her to grunt, and past Frank.

“Gerard!” He screamed at me from the door way but I started running. And I didn’t stop until I was in a field, far from his house. After about five minuets my phone buzzed. I took it out praying it was Mikey or Ray. But it was Frank. I clicked the answer button, thoughts and explanations running through my head. But when I put the phone to my ear, they disappeared and my voice wouldn’t make a sound.

“Gerard? Gerard…” A few seconds went by before he spoke again. “Look, Gerard, I’m not mad. I just want to talk… Lyn explained it all.”

“Wh-What did she say?” I finally asked.

“It wasn’t your fault Gerard. I know it was her… It wasn’t the first time.”

“But I was every part involved as her! I knew it was wrong!” I shouted, the tears clearly in my voice.

“Baby…” He said it so softly I almost couldn’t hear him “I forgive you,”
