The Light Behind Your Eyes

~2 Years Later~

I woke up feeling shitty. I almost wanted to stay home and not work. But I had to make money right? Sighing, I rolled off the bed and looked to see Gerard's side empty. I turned the warm shower on and let it cascade throughout my whole body. Letting out and content sigh, I worked on my hair and body before getting out and wrapping the towel around me. I dug through my clothes and settle on black tights, black skirt, Doc Martens, and a black crop top tank top type of thing. Sliding on my shoes, I heard laughter. I'm guessing Bandit is awake. Because when would Gerard ever laugh to himself or talk to himself? Well, he was a pretty weird guy. I laughed to myself and went downstairs. Gerard was in the kitchen with Bandit at the counter sitting and eating her breakfast.

My boyfriend's eyes lit up when he saw me and he smiled brightly. "Hello Honey!" He chirped always being the morning person. He walked over, kissed me and handed me a cup of coffee as he went back to his own. "How are you feeling today?" He asked before sipping his coffee. I shrugged and sat next to Bandit who smiled widely at me. I smiled back and pushed her hair back. "Shitty." I mouthed. Gerard nodded understandably. He came next to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Well I'll make it better when you get home okay?" I laughed and nodded as he kissed my neck. I spun around and kissed him on the lips. "I need to finish getting ready." I murmured.

He nodded and let me out of his tight grasp. I ran upstairs and let my hair down. I brushed through the tangles and then curled it a bit before wrapping my forehead with my bandanna. I let it dry as I applied everything to my face like my lip gloss and eyeliner and eye shadow. I smacked my lips before giving a satisfied look in the mirror and grabbing my bag and phone. Gerard and Bandit were no longer in the kitchen and in the living room. Bandit was coloring as Gerard stood by the door with my leather jacket. I smiled at him before crouching to face Bandit. "You be good for daddy okay? Don't cause chaos to the world."

She giggled, "Okay mommy." She wrapped her arms around my neck and reached on her tip toes to hug me. "Give mommy a kiss?" I asked. She giggled again and kissed my cheek. I kissed back and said, "Alright Giggles, be good. I love you." I ruffled her hair as she called, "Love you too mommy!" I walked over to Gerard and he slid my jacket on. Holding me by the shoulders, he spun me around and planted a kiss on my lips. "I love love love you and have a good day you hear me? Or I will have to make it better." I held my hands up and acted scared, "Oh no!" "Oh yes." He said kissing me again and opening the door for me. I laughed when he slapped my ass as I walked out the door.

I entered the car and as I drove off, Gerard waved me off and closed the front door. Thankfully, I arrived at work on time and entered the shop. "Hey Gracie!" I exclaimed to Gracie, another tattoo artist here and friend. "Hey Rain! How's Bandit and Gee?" She asked hugging me tightly. Hanging my coat on the coat rack, I replied with, "Great. Bandit is growing so big each day." She laughed, "Well you have two appointments. Hopefully they will be the only ones." She giggled. I pshed, "Please, there's always more."

"Okay see you on Friday!" She waved entering her car. "See ya!" I called over my shoulder as we went the opposite direction. The night air was cool and calm, giving off a peaceful vibe as cars passed by every now and then. Even so, as I reached my car, a strange, unsettling feeling came over me and I could have sworn I saw a shadow dart out of the darkness towards me, coming from the shop. I shook it off, knowing that I or Gracie would have seen somebody if anybody was there. But then I saw it move again, this time on my right, and I was hit hard by something.

I felt myself falling, but I didn't have time to react as the darkness consumed me and I blacked out.
