The Light Behind Your Eyes

Rain's POV

In the morning Gerard made me go to Pete and Meagan's house to babysit Bronx, he said he had a surprise for me and Pete and Meagan would be over soon to help him with the surprise. Whatever that meant, I have no idea, but I just went with it because he seemed pretty excited. So, after he kissed my lips, sent Bandit to Mikey and Alicia's and told me he would see me later, I drove over to Pete and Meagan's. As soon as I arrived at their house though, they were out of their. "Hi Bronx!" I said sitting on the couch. "Hi Auntie!" He replied. "Do you have any idea what Uncle Gee has planned for me?" I asked him. "Yes." He sang. "What!?" Bronx laughed and shrugged, "Can't tell yoooouuuu!" he sang. I pouted and replied, "Meanie." Sticking my tongue out at him, I grabbed my phone and started to listen to music with Bronx while I waited for Meagan to get here.

I had no idea what she was doing, or what she was going to do with me. "Meagan's here!!!" Bronx said standing. I snapped up and took out my headphone. I opened the door and she grinned at me as she came inside. "Okay, do me a favor and tell me what's going on." I said hugging her but she shook her head. "You have to wait and find out. Come on, I'm taking you out." She informed. I sighed and grabbed my bag and jacket before snapping Bronx's coat on the walked out to her car and letting her buckle Bronx in. I got in and glared at her a little. "Lighten up! It's gonna be fun." She said as she backed the car out and drove down the street. It wasn't the fun I was worried about, it was the surprise. Everyone knew but me.

First, we went to the mall and went to whatever we felt like. She bought a bunch of stuff but mostly just hung around, until we reached Hot Topic. I could stay in that store all day! At one o'clock in the afternoon, we went and ate lunch at the food court. "So, I take Pete is with Gerard." I asked trying to get her to slip something. "Yup." She said not explaining any further. Fuck. "C'mon, can't you give me one hint??!" I asked growing impatient. "Hmmm...let me ask Gee and see what he thinks." Meagan pulled out her phone and texted him, and I sat there, feeding Bronx waiting for the reply. I thought it was going to take forever when it only was a minute.

When her phone vibrated, I leaned forward in my seat while she looked at the text. "He says you can have one. Are you sure you want it?" She asked. "YES!!!!" I exclaimed. "You have to wear a dress." She said, throwing me for a loop. "Which is why, as soon as we're done here, we're going dress shopping." She smirked while I sat there confused. That didn't help me at all, just confused me more. She dragged Bronx and I to the nearest dress store. "What am I looking for exactly?" I asked kinda standing there holding Bronx's hand awkwardly. "Whatever. It doesn't matter. But if I were you...try and get something black." So that's what I did. I got a black dress. It was short and strapless.

When we walked out of the store and back out into the sea of people, I asked, "So, now what?" "Now we get shoes." Meagan announced and I let her drag me to the other end of the mall. She found a pair of black ballerina shoes that wrapped around my ankles and she wasn't going to let me leave without them. When we got to the car, she told me she was going to take me back to my house and not their's but I wasn't allowed to see the living room, so she would cover my eyes and go in the opposite direction to the upstairs guest room. Where she would do my hair..? By now it was past three o'clock. I still had no idea what kind of surprise required so much stuff, I felt like I was getting ready to be maid of honor or some shit.

She braided my hair into a headband braid and had to push my bangs away.Meagan finished my hair, and left me to get into my dress. Now it was nearing five o'clock after getting my hair complete. Once I got into my dress, I told Meagan through the door because she was waiting outside for me. She came in and grinned at me when she saw me. "You look stunning!" "Can I come out now?" I asked thinking that after all this I should get to see my surprise now. "Not yet we still have another hour to go!" I nearly had a stroke. "I have to stay in here doing nothing for a whole hour!??!" "No, you can have your laptop." She handed it to me and I nodded. She said she would stay in here with me for company. I logged into Twitter.

How did the fans know and not me!? We started to laugh about nothing. In the middle of us laughing like lunatics, there was a knock at the door. Meagan and I stopped laughing and she got up to open the door. When I looked up, I saw that it was Pete, "He's ready." Pete said looking at me then Meagan. "Okay, we'll be out in a minute." She told him and he nodded before turning and walking away. Meagan shut the door. I was already turning my laptop off. She studied me for a minute, playing with my hair for a minute. Until she finally saw what looked best. "Ready?" She asked me and I nodded slowly. "Okay, let's go then." My heart started to beat faster and I felt nervous for some reason. Gerard has never ever seen me this nice. She opened the bedroom door and motioned for me to follow her. I followed behind her towards the living room and when I got there, my jaw dropped.

It was decorated in our old high school's colors, blue and purple, with balloons and what not. The lights were off, but you could see because there was party lights. It was decorated like the gym in our high school like it would have been at prom, if I would have gone. Now it all made sense, the dressing up and stuff. Gerard appeared from the hallway wearing a full on suit with a black tie and it suited him pretty well..(get it) He stopped right in front of me and smiled down. "Rain," He started, and I stared up at him in complete awe. He held out his hand and continued softly, "Will you go to prom with me?" It was then I realized what he was doing. I grinned up at him and nodding, taking his hand.

He took me into the living room and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close. I lopped mine around his neck and stared into his eyes. I was a bit surprised when I heard, 'Last Night On Earth.' by Green Day come one and Gerard said, "Meagan told me it's your favorite love song." "Gerard you didn't have to do this." I told him. "But I wanted to. Everyone should get a chance to go to prom and I ruined it for you. And now I made it up to you." He replied and I couldn't help but grin. "Thank you." "No sweat." He murmured. For the entire dance, I just stared right into his hazel eyes. We didn't break contact, hell we didn't want to. He smiled slightly making my knees weak.

Everything he did made me love him more. Whatever he did big or small. As the song faded out, he asked, "So what was it like? Staring into the eyes of the guy you danced with?: I grinned and replied, "Amazing. It felt like I was staring into heaven." he smiled and brought his head down, gently pressing his lips to mine.

Sooo what did you think? Gee made their own prom!!! So what did think? Sorry for the sudden and loads of updates, sadly, I'm sick and sadlier, my bf is going to NJ to visit family. But good news! We're moving into a bigger house together!! So yup, and uh you know the drill. Thoughts would be awesome possum.
