Never Let Them Hurt You

What was I doing? Pouring my heart out to her? I couldn't stop myself. Soon I was moving closer to Annabelle, standing almost on top of her in her seat. She was so beautiful. Her eyes sparkled, from fear obviously but... Admiration? The thought made my stomach do a flip. "So... Um, tell me about yourself", I murmured, not taking my eyes off of hers. She raised an eyebrow before softening them and sighing. "I... I was born in the slave hold and have lived there all my life. I don't know what happened to my mom, I don't know who my dad was. Basically I've been tortured my entire life", she said. "I... I'm sorry you had to go through that", I said softly. Tears were welling up in her eyes. "It was a bad place", she said shakily. They started streaming down her face. She might have been having memories or even flashbacks of what she went through. I'm getting so soft. Why was I caring so much? Why was I caring at all? I don't know why, but I suddenly stood her up and wrapped my arms around her, envelopinf her tiny body with my big, muscly vampire body. "Shh", I cooed, wanting for her to stop. She continued to sob and she trembled in my arms. "I...I'm not going to hurt you. I don't want you to be hurt. I'll never let them hurt you, I promise", I whispered. Her sobs lightened up slightly as I continued whispering promises into her ear. She then looked up at me, her eyes red and starting to get puffy. "Annabelle, I think I have a crush on you and I think you're changing me", I whispered and smiled. That made her smile slightly, but she still seemed nervous. "Oh come on. A vampire falling for a human is probably a little exotic but no one has to know", he teased. She cracked a slightly bigger smile and looked down. She was adorable. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Those words are insulting to her beauty because she was so magnificent. I lifted her chin up with one of my fingers, moving my face closer to hers. We were so close, and my lips ghosted hers. Then suddenly she pushed her face up and our lips met. It might sound cliché but I swear there were sparks. Humans are beautiful, and I am sure Annabelle is going to show me just how beautiful, kind and intelligent they can be.
