One Night Stand

The Amazingly Attractive Bartender

FRANK'S P.O.V.

"I'll have a Jack Daniel's and Coke." I ask the amazingly attractive bartender. His eyes are hazel with a hint of green in them, and he has a little upturned nose that's looks absolutely adorable. His lips look a darker shade than another's would but it's probably from working all night.

"Coming right up!" He says and turns around to make my drink. I look him up and down and I have to say, he isn't bad looking at all. The laces of the apron he is wearing catches my attention and they dangle dangerously close to his ass. The jeans he wore compliments him perfectly as well. They fit great and they make his ass look phenomenal!

"Here we are." The bartender mentions as he slides my drink in front of me.

"Thanks..." I yell wondering his name. I have to yell because the music is too loud. Not that I'm complaining because it isn't bad, I just can't hear anyone. I hand him the seven dollars for my drink and he thanks me.

"Gerard, I'm Gerard Way. You are? He yells back.

"Frank." I take a sip of my drink, and it takes good. I love the taste of alcohol so much! Plus, if you drink too much it also helps you forget, which is a huge bonus, considering my life sucks at this point.

A group of girls come over and Gerard moves away to take their order and once he gets them all, he nods and begins to make them. I look around and see people dancing, a DJ, and a stage. I'm going to be up there tonight. I need a few extra dollars in my pocket and this is the way to make them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm Frank Iero. I'm 24, gay, and living in the Big Apple. I'm not the biggest fan of New York but it could be worse. I just got a gig at this trashy gay bar, but it's better than nothing. I have a job at a diner, but it doesn't pay much so I got this gig. Being a busboy in a New York diner isn't the best opportunity but I need money to pay off my apartment.
I feel someone tap my shoulder and I turn around to see Drew, the guy who owns this bar and got me this gig.
"Hi, Frank. You’re just on time." He says, smiling.
"Yeah, I wouldn't want be late." I reply, and he starts to walk away but motions for me to follow. I stand up and look at back at Gerard and he is still making drinks. I turn and walk with Drew and we walk to the back and what I assume is his office. He sits down and leans on his desks.
"So Frank, I'm just going to cut to the chase. If tonight goes well, you can have a job here performing," he grins and continues speaking, "We can pay you fifteen dollars a performance so that'll give you a few extra dollars in your pocket."
"Really? Wow, thanks!" I squeal, because being a busboy sucks and I want to quit that job as soon as possible.
"Thank me after you perform." He winks.
I smile, and nod then turn to leave.
"Oh, and nice ass." He mentions before I walk out. I freeze and quietly mumble,
"T-thanks." Then I leave to head to the small green room backstage. Frankly, I'm not interested in Drew. I'm not really interested in anyone, although Gerard was pretty cute. What am I saying? He was full on hot! His black hair fell slightly over his eyes, but it helped see his bright eyes.
I set my guitar down and take out a cigarette. I put it in between my lips and take out my lighter, covering the stick while I light it. I take a drag am let it out watching as my life slowly is leaving me.
I sigh and slump against the wall. Well, I should at least get ready for my set. I think to myself and I walk out into the dark stage and I see that the amplifier and mic is already plugged in. I walk backstage again and wait a couple of minutes until I realize that I need another drink.
I sling my guitar, Pansy over my shoulder again because I would dare leave her in a place like this alone. I sit at the end if the bar where it's abnormally dark and wait.
I see Gerard talking to the same group of girls and I feel a little weird about that. I mean, I can't tell him who to talk to, I don't even know the man! I clear my throat and I'm suprised Gerard heard me due to the loud music.
"Can I get you something?" He asks. He probably can't even see me considering how dark it is.
"Yeah, same thing as before." I reply.
"Oh, your Frank! Yeah, I'll have it ready right away!" He yells before running to the drinks and making mine. I get my money out now so I can give him his money right away. When I look up he gets called by one if the girls and I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I snoop in on their conversation.
"Hey, so you wanna grab something to eat after your shift?" She asks trying to be seductive by biting her bottom lip, but it just isn't working.
"Thanks, but no thanks," he replies, "I have a girlfriend.”
When he says that, I feel like my hopes of having a relationship kick me and leave me. He seemed really interesting and I wanted to get to know him more. Whatever, I can't let a guy I don't even know ruin my first gig. He walks away and finishes my drink before coming back and giving it to me.
"Thanks." I say, I don't yell it because I'm not really in the mood. I give him a ten dollar bill because I intended on giving him a tip along with my number, but I'll just stick with the tip.
"Thanks." He says enthusiastically and reaches into the pocket of his apron and pulls out money counting the dollars he owns me.
"No, don't worry about it." I say and he puts his money back.
"So, Drew told me you were playing tonight." He says as he pulls out a damp cloth and begins the clean the bar space where we are.
"Oh, yeah I am. Do people play here often?" I ask.
"No, not really. We maybe get a performance once a week so it's like a little treat." He smiles and puts the cloth back.
I feel another tap on my shoulder and it see Drew.
"Come on Frank, it's time for your show." He says and walks backstage. I stand up and walk away from the bar.
"Good luck, Frank!" I hear Gerard yell, but I ignore it and keep walking.
When I get to the back I take out Pansy from her case and put the strap over my head and rest it on my left shoulder. I stroke my hand up the back of the neck and I smile at the lovely way it feels.
"Alright kid, get ready and don't fuck this up." He smiles. I smile back and he leads me onto the stage. He turns in all the equipment with lights still off and he plugs in Pansy. He pushes me toward a little so I am in front of the microphone.
Suddenly bright lights come out of nowhere and people begin to cheer.
"What's up tonight?!" Drew says, pumped into his microphone and the cheering gets louder. It last about ten more seconds until it dies down and stop.
"Tonight I have a little treat for all of you! I have my buddy, Frank who can play guitar and sing for you. He'll do a song and odds are he'll probably be back tomorrow night. Oh, and guys, he single!" He yells and people start to cheer again. I smile a little when I hear a wolf whistle.
Drew pats me on the back, and leaves the stage. I look around and see Gerard. He's still behind the bar but he is looking at me with his arms folded and grinning. He winks and I roll my eyes while a smile creeps onto my face.
"Well I hope you all like Green Day!" I say into the microphone. I begin to play the intro on my guitar and people go crazy with their cheers and screams.
"Don't wanna be an American Idiot," I sing and all I know is that, the performance went great and I have a feeling I'll be back tomorrow.
