Hey Mr. Way

'' G-Gee! '' I smiled.
'' Frank, what are you doing out here? '' he asked, sighing at me.
'' I-I ran away, '' I replied.
'' Well I can see that, '' Gerard said, '' come back to my house and we can talk there, you look absolutely freezing. ''
I stood up off the park bench and grabbed my bag, then Gerard took my freezing cold hand and led me back to his house. I was shivering and my teeth were chattering, and I couldn't stop sneezing.
'' You've given yourself a cold, '' Gerard commented.
'' I k-know... '' I replied. Gerard shook his head and rolled his eyes at me before taking off his leather jacket and putting it around my shoulders to warm me up.
As soon as we got inside I looked at the clock and it was almost midnight.
'' What were you doing out Gerard? '' I asked.
'' I was going to the shop, '' he said, '' I ran out of coffee and couldn't sleep. ''
I chuckled at him and he told me to sit on the sofa while he made me a hot chocolate.
'' Frankie why'd you run away? '' he asked. I sighed and knew I'd have to tell him the whole story.
'' My mum was being a bitch to me because she found out about Tyler and what he's being doing and she was saying ''did you think it was a good idea to just keep quiet'' and stuff and she was making me feel bad and like it was all my fault. So I was so sick of her shit and everyone elses shit and I was missing you so much and I guess it all just got to me and I couldn't take it so I left, '' I explained. Gerard sighed and brought me hot chocolate, then sat down next to me on the sofa.
'' It's not your fault, Frankie. I understand why you did it but you should go back, she'll be so worried about you, '' Gerard said as he took my hand.
'' Yeah but I'm scared she's gonna move me to a different school, '' I said.
'' Frank I don't think she will, besides it's not the end of the world if she does- ''
'' I'll never see you again! Of course it's the end of the world! I need you Gerard, I really really need you and I couldn't live without you! '' I exclaimed.
'' Okay Frank you need to listen. I'm pretty sure she's not gonna move you to another school, but I know for a fact that she's gonna be so worried about you. And I'm not having this Frank, come on, get in the car we're going back to your place, '' Gerard said quite firmly, holding out his hand for me to take. I sighed and dragged myself off the sofa, then picked up my bag with one hand and with the other I held Gerard's hand. Gerard took my bag out of my hand and held it for me, giving me a smile as he lead me out of the door and to his car. When the car started up I looked over to Gerard and pleaded him silently to let me stay at his house, but he shook his head and started driving me back home.
The car journey was way too short and before I knew it we were back at my house. I got out and smiled weakly at Gerard, who was also getting out of the car, presumably so he could speak to my mum.
I opened the front door and waited for someone to come but the house was silent.
'' Mum? '' I called, trying to sound like I didn't want to be there, which to be honest I didn't.
I heard the floorboards upstairs creek and my mum apeared at the top of the stairs, it was obvious she'd been crying because here eyes were all red.
'' Frankie! '' she sniffed and ran down the stairs, before pulling me into a hug. She looked up to see Gerard and looked a bit startled.
'' Hello, Mrs. Iero. I found little Frankie in the park, it was very lucky that I did actually, I was just on my way to the shop since I'd run out of coffee and I happened to be walking through the park and he was led on a bench, '' Gerard explained. I looked at the ground and avoided any eye contact.
'' Frank why? '' my mum choked out.
'' I-I'm...sorry mum, '' I said, hugging her.
'' No I'm sorry, '' she said, '' now what do you say to Mr. Way? ''
'' T-thanks Mr. Way for..uh..finding me..'' I trailed off not really knowing what to say.
'' Yes, thank you so much Mr. Way, I owe you- '' my mum started but she was cut off by Gerard shaking his head.
'' You owe me nothing, I'm just doing what's right, '' he said, before shaking my mum's hand and smiling, then saying, '' I better be going and leaving you two to get some sleep, school tomorrow Frank you don't want to be late. ''
I smiled and nodded, saying goodbye to him then my mum took me inside.
'' Frank I'm not gonna start shouting at you again and I'm really sorry, I made a mistake and I hope you can forgive me. I know you might not want to talk to me right now or anything but please just...don't ever do that again, '' my mum sighed.
'' I...I wont. And I'm sorry I guess I just over-reacted, I'm just very stressed lately..'' I said.
'' You don't have to explain yourself to me, it's okay, '' my mum smiled weakly before kissing my forehead. After a few minutes of silence my mum sent me to bed, saying that I needed the rest. I climbed up the ladder to my room and flicked the light on, but the bulb blew out so I was left in darkness to get undressed, which didn't prove as difficult as I first throught because I didn't actually have to put anything back on since I just slept in boxers. I climbed under the sheets which were freezing cold but they soon warmed up, and after about five minutes I was fast asleep.
