'' It's not her. ''
'' Wait, what? ''
'' It's not her, '' I repeated, looking up at Gerard who looked shocked.
'' A-are you sure? '' he asked.
'' Positive. I know it's not her. Her face, it's...similar, but not the same, no it's not my mum, '' I said, repeating myself again.
'' You're sure you aren't just saying that because you don't want it to be her? '' the woman asked.
I shifted my eyesight from Gerard over to her, and gave her a very obviously fake smile.
'' No, it's just not her, okay? Do you understand? It's. Not. Her. Got it? Or do you want me to say it again, huh? '' I said through gritted teeth. Gerard put his hand on my shoulder and looked into my eyes.
'' Now Frankie, it's definitely not her? '' he asked.
'' No Gerard it really isn't her. I'm positive, 100% it's not my mum. Can we leave now please, '' I said, taking my eyes off Gerard and looking at that woman before continuing, '' this place is making me feel uncomfortable, and I don't like that lady over there. '' At the last bit I put on my innocent-child face and pretended to be all sweet towards Gerard, batting the eyelashes and everything. Gerard smirked at me, regarding the fact that he knew exactly what I was doing.
'' Well, Frankie, if you're-''
'' Look, I don't wanna be rude, but I think the fact that you're calling him Frankie is making him uncomfortable, okay? '' Gerard cut in, looking straight into her eyes.
'' O-oh, sure, s-sorry, '' the woman said in a fluster, she was blushing too.
I gestured with my hand for Gerard to bend down a little so I could whisper in his ear.
'' I think she has a crush on you, '' I whispered with a giggle, causing Gerard to pull away from me and pull a face of digust.
'' Ew no! '' he yelled and I just laughed at him, '' I think it's the other way round! '' he added.
'' Hell no Gerard, that's gross! '' I yelled back, playfully shoving his arm.
'' We're going to leave now, '' Gerard said to the woman, who yet again called me Frankie as we were walking out of the door and she said goodbye.
'' You sick little fuck! '' Gerard laughed as we got in the car. I laughed and told him to shut up, in a joking way obviously. We got halfway back home and I realised that if that wasn't my mum then where was she, still out looking for dad?
'' Gee where's my mum? '' I asked, all of a sudden getting very frantic.
'' Frankie I don't really know, she must still be out looking for your dad. ''
'' But dad's already been found, he's been arrested already! ''
'' I know, but maybe she just hasn't heard about it, you'll just have to wait Frankie, until she comes home again. ''
I sighed and agreed with him, knowing there was nothing I could do. I'd tried texting her before, but she's never answered me, her phone battery had obviously died ages ago.
Me and Gerard got back to his apartment and settled down to drink coffee, even though it was only about ten in the morning.
'' I don't wanna go back to school today, '' I sighed, hoping Gerard would just let me have the day off.
'' Frankie I'm gonna have to take you, you can't spend the day off because it's almost time for your exams and every piece of education you get now is vital. Imagine if today at school you learned something that was a question to your test and if you didn't get that one question it could determine an entire grade difference, you need to go Frankie, '' he said, acting all teacher-ish.
'' You know, I can really tell you're a teacher, '' I laughed, taking the last mouthful of my coffee and putting the mug on the table next to me.
'' I'm off to get dressed, '' I said, dragging myself up and off the sofa. As I glanced back around I'm sure I saw Gerard staring at my arse but I didn't say anything, because he looked away quickly as soon as he saw me looking. I just chuckled internally and got myself into my school uniform.
'' You ready? '' Gerard called a couple of minutes later just as I was heading out of the bedrrom door. I smiled and said yes so we went out to the car.
'' I'm gonna drop you off here, and I'll pick you up here after school, okay? If I'm not exactly here look down that sliproad because it might be safer parking there, it's out of the way so nobody will see you getting into my car, '' Gerard said, parking up in the usual place where he drops me off.
'' Okay bye Gee, '' I said, giving him a peck on the cheek.
'' Bye Frankie, '' he said, returning the kiss and unlocking the car door for me, '' text me if you need me for anything. ''
'' I love you, '' I smiled.
'' I love you more, '' Gerard grinned back, '' now go! You're already late, you don't want punishments do you? ''
'' If they're anything like the last punishment you gave me, then of course I want them! ''
