Hey Mr. Way

I threw my bag into the boot and we climbed into the car. We drove all the way back to Gerard's house and by the time we'd got there we were both starving.
'' I'm gonna make something tonight instead of getting a takeaway or making a readymeal like I usually do, '' Gerard chuckled before adding, '' what do you fancy? ''
I didn't want to choose because I didn't know what he had already and I didn't want him going to the supermarket to buy something specially.
'' I dunno, you pick Gerard, '' I said with a smile.
'' Stir Fry? '' Gerard offered and I nodded my head eagerly. Gerard got to work on the stir fry and I flopped down onto the sofa and started to watch tv. I sat there for five minutes until I suddenly remembered that math work that I was meant to give to my bitchy teacher because I didn't do it in lesson. It was supposed to be in today and I didn't have a maths lesson so I totally forgot! Kill me now.
'' Gerard, can I ask you something? '' I questioned.
'' Yeah sure what is it? '' he replied while concentrating on cutting up vegetables for tea.
'' Basically, yesterday at school I was really nervous because I was planning on telling you about my dad, and I kinda didn't do any work in math because I was so het up about it. My teacher told me to do the work I was meant to do in the lesson at home and I kinda forgot to do it last night and I didn't give it in....I was wondering if you'd help me with it seeing as I don't understand it at all?''
'' Of course Frank. I'll do it all for you after tea, okay? ''
'' No no, you don't need to do it for me, I just wanted a bit of help. ''
'' It's fine, '' Gerard insisted, '' I'll do it for you. ''
I knew he wasn't going to let me do it so I thanked him for being so kind and looked back at the tv.
Ten minutes later tea was ready so we sat at the table and gobbled it down.
'' This is so nice Gerard! '' I said through a mouthful of food.
'' Thanks Frankie! '' Gerard smiled back and we continued eating until both our bowls were empty.
'' Right, let me have a look at this math then Frank, '' Gerard said after he'd put the bowls to one side to wash up later. I pulled it out of my school bag and handed it to him. I decided seeing as I had more homework that I'd just get on with that while Gerard was doing the maths.
'' You should really concentrate in lessons then this wouldn't happen Frank, '' Gerard smirked trying to act all teacher-ish but instead cracking up laughing when I did. I swatted my hand in his direction and muttered, '' yeah yeah whatever, get lost '' with a grin plastered on my face.
Twenty minutes later and we'd both finished, Gerard handing me the maths work and telling me to copy it up in my own handwriting. I sighed but knew it had to be done or else if anyone recognised it as not my own writing I'd be in trouble, furthermore if someone recognised it as Gerard's writing then he'd get in a ton of trouble too. I picked up my pen and scrawled it down into my book quickly.
'' Don't write too messily or you'll have to do it again, '' Gerard warned me. I sighed again but slowed down and concentrated on it a bit more. After ten minutes I'd finally finished and Gerard was facing the other way on the couch watching tv. I crept up behind him and jumped over the top of the sofa to land next to him, which startled the life out of him.
'' Fuck Frankie you scared me! '' Gerard exclaimed and we both laughed loudly. We watched tv for a couple of hours before I yawned and Gerard looked over to me.
'' I think it's time for somebody to go to bed, '' with a smile. He picked me up and carried me to the bedroom. I kicked off my shoes and clothes and crawled into bed with just my boxers on because I was too tired and lazy to care about pyjamas. Gerard pulled the covers over me to tuck me in before planting a kiss on my forehead.
'' I'll be on the sofa if you need me for anything, '' he smiled before adding, '' sleep tight Frankie, love you. ''
'' I love you too, night, '' I called across to him and he flicked the lightswitch off and closed the door so I was left in darkness to fall asleep.
