Everything Will Be OK

I immediately pushed him off me. He looked at me with confused and pleading eyes. “W-what’s wrong?” He asked panting. “You called me Taylor…” There was a look of horror in his eyes. “I’m sorry, I-““Look Gerard, this really isn’t a good idea…” I began as I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and collected my clothes to put back on. “No Lindsey…I didn’t mean it, I’m sorry.” He pleaded. “I know…It’s just that we really shouldn’t be doing this right now anyway…” He sighed. “I u-understand.” As I was now fully clothed again, I decided to go over to the bathroom to wash my face. “I’ll be right back.” I mumbled as I headed over to the sink. As I turned on the faucet, I began to feel a weird sensation on my legs. What the hell? I then looked down, as I saw some sort of liquid running down my legs. I softly touched my thighs as they were wet. At first I was confused as to what the strange liquid was, until I realized what was happening. I gulped as I didn’t know what to do. Oh my god. Oh my god….Before I were to do anything else, I quickly turned off the faucet and raced back over to Gerard’s bedroom. “Is everything alright?” He asked worriedly. “G-Gerard…” I paused until I finally had the courage to speak again. “My water broke…” His eyes widened in horror. “Oh shit!” My hands began to shake. “Gee I need you to take me to the hospital now!” I ordered. “But your 3 weeks early.” “I know but Gerard you really have to take me to the hospital as soon as possible!” He nodded. “Ok let me find my car keys first.” As he got up on his feet, I noticed he was struggling to walk as I had remembered that he was still intoxicated. “Gerard…you can’t drive…” He furrowed his eyebrows at me. “W-why?””Because you’re not sober enough to drive.” I then began to worry more and more. “Here, I know what I need to do. Gerard where’s your phone?” I hesitantly asked. “On the nightstand. Why?” “Because I need to call Mathew to pick me up and drive me to the hospital.” I replied as I picked up the phone from the nightstand and dialed his number. After a few rings he finally picked up. “Hello?” He answered in a raspy voice. It sounded as if I had awoken him. “Hey Mathew. It’s me, Lindsey.” I bit my lip nervously. “Lindsey? I’ve been trying to contact you all day and night! Do you realize what time it is?” I sighed. “Yes, yes I do, but I-“He immediately interrupted me. “Where the fuck are you?! You said you would be coming home as soon as possible!” He yelled. “I’m at Gerard’s right now-““What?! What the fuck are you doing there at this time of night?! I told you I didn’t trust you around him Lindsey!” “Yes, but you need to listen to me Mathew! I need you to pick me up right now cause my water just broke.” The line was silent for a few seconds. “Y-you’re joking….” “I’m afraid not…” I stroked my hand through my hair as I was nervous as to what he would say next. “Alright…I will be there in a few minutes, be ready.” I sighed in relief. “Alright, thanks. I love you.” I spoke as he finally hung up on me. I stood there silent and a little bit hurt as he didn’t say he loved me back. It was obvious he was furious that I was at Gerard’s house, but I knew that the main focus right now was to get to the hospital if my baby was going to be due soon.

After 10 minutes of waiting, I heard the sound of knocking on Gerard’s front door. “That must be him.” Gerard mumbled. “Yeah, I better go…” He then looked up at me with sorrowful eyes. “Can I please come along?” I shook my head. “No Gee, that’s not a really good idea-““Please!” He pleaded. “It is my baby too!” I sighed in defeat. “Alright…but you’re sitting in the back of the car, alright?” He nodded. “Ok let’s go then.

The whole ride to the hospital was irritably silent. Mathew gave me the silent treatment, while Gerard was too scared to say anything to piss off Mathew. Once we finally arrived at the front counter of the hospital, I was lead to a small, cramped room. I was then given a hospital gown to change into as I gently laid myself on the stiff, bed. After waiting several minutes with both Mathew and Gerard by my side, a young, female nurse had come in as she asked me a few questions. “And who is the father of the baby?” The nurse asked, while continuing to write on her clipboard. I awkwardly looked over at Gerard. “I-I am ma’am…” He mumbled softly. “Alright, so we will only need you in here during the procedure then. I’m sorry to say this sir, but you will have to wait outside in the hall until you are asked to come back in again.” The young nurse said gesturing over to Mathew. His eyes widened in shock. “Are you kidding me? That’s my fiancé! I’m not going to leave her while she is in labor!” He exclaimed. The nurse gave the two a confused look. “Fiancé? Then why is he the father of the baby?” She questioned. “Well it’s complicated.” I explained. “Oh I see.” She replied, continuing to write down the information. “Well for the time being, I’ll need you two to step out for a few minutes while I put her on some pre medication.” She ordered. “Nurse…I can’t leave her in here alone without me!” Mathew shouted. “It will only be for a few minutes sir.” She replied as they both finally headed out of the room. I let out a deep sigh. This was going to be a long night.
