Everything Will Be OK

Thank god it’s finally lunch break! I swear I never want to see or hear Mr. Way’s voice ever again after our argument last period. I mean like who the hell does he think he is! My head is pounding with rage. I just wish I could go home, sleep, and never wake up.

I search the lunchroom looking for a descent place to sit, when I see Mikey frantically waving at me across the room. I quickly walk over to the table and plop myself down next to him.”Hey Taylor, I would like you to meet my good friends, Frank and Ray.” They wave nervously at me.”It’s nice to meet you.” I say with a shy smile.”It’s nice to meet you too!” Says the boy with the wild afro.”So how do you like Bellingville so far?”Asks the boy who supposedly goes by the name frank.”Oh, it’s great!”I lie.”Did you find all your classes ok?”Asks Mikey.”I nod, shoving half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in my mouth.”Wow, you must be hungry.”He giggles.

While we all continue to consume our lunches, we begin to talk about our favorite movies and bands.”You like Blink 182 too?” Frank asks with a wide grin on his face.”Yea definitely! They are hella awesome.”I remark.”Hey, we should all come over to my house after school today, so we can listen to some of my new albums I just recently got.”The all nod approvingly. “Yeah that would be awesome! And plus we could get to know you better, Taylor.” Frank says with a wink. I blush.” So what do you think?” Mikey asks.”Sound like a plan?”All of them look at me waiting for my response.That’s when I remember that I’m stuck with Mr. Way after school. Shit.”Sorry guys I can’t.”I say.”Why?”They all look at me with puppy dog eyes.”I got…detention.” I mumble.”On your first day?! ”Mikey asks confused.”Yeah I really don’t want to talk about it. I frown.”Don’t worry.”Frank says with a kind smile.”There is always tomorrow.”
