Ivory Blood Drops

"Happy 11th birthday flower" Bobby whispers to me under his bed where we are currently hiding from our dad. He hands me a box and he giggles when he sees my face light up. I never get presents anymore. I lost all my friends a while ago and the guys are way older than me so we don't go to the same school. I haven't talked to any of them in a few years..... I opened the box and noticed there were several wrapped gifts. "Who are all of these gifts from?" I asked Bobby, curious who they were from. "Open them and I'll say as we go along." I opened the first gift, which was a CD by a band named Blink 182. "That's from Frankie. He listened to it and said it was perfect for you." Next, it was a softer package, and sat gaping at it after I opened it. A sonic shirt, black jeans, black chuck taylors, a nice coat with matching gloves and hat!?!? I haven't gotten any new clothes since when mom di- nevermind. "That's from the Ways. They send their love." I opened the next to last present, which was a CD player with a CD by a ban named Nirvana. "That's from Ray. He got a new one and thought you'd love one." I opened the last gift, and it was a beautiful hair clip with irises engraved and wrapped around it, it was perfect. "That's from me. You can wear it to school tomorrow under your hat. You have to take the hat off in middle school though. You can wear the outfit though." I was excited. Tomorrow I start sixth grade! Due to his birthday, Mikey was an right grader this year instead of a ninth grader with Frank and Bobby, but it had been that way since the start. It would be nice knowing an upperclassmen.

*At school the next day*
i was able to leave the house unnoticed, dad was sleeping on the couch and looked like he wasn't getting up in a while. Bobby had already left for school, and I walked to the bus stop alone. When I got there, a boy who liked about two years older than me was standing reading a book, with his hair in his face and glasses almost falling off of his face. As I walked closer the boy looked more and more familiar, and I thought maybe it was a neighbor or something... I awkwardly stood there for a bit until the boy closed his book, turned to me and said "Hi. I'm Mikey Way. What's your name?" I giggled and responded "Hi. I guess three years really does change a person......." He eyes went wide and he hit himself in the forehead. "Iris? Is that you?" I shifted awkwardly from side to side and said "Yeah... It's me..." He than looked at my outfit and muttered something under his breath about how he didn't piece it together minutes ago and something garbled but I got the word pretty out of it. Funny. He couldn't be talking about me.... could he? No way. I had bruises all over my body, burns, and cuts too and I was fat and my face was ugly and unproportioned. I hated the way I looked. Mikey, on the other hand, looks so handsome now.......
