12 Shots of Tequila

Prologue

Gerard took in his surroundings. The air was thick and filled with smoke. Music blared from the speakers and every time another colorful light flashed, he could see the mass of sweaty bodies grinding up against each other. He hated it. Men and women dressed in clothes three sizes too small infested the place. Gerard cringed at the sight. He silently prayed to a god he didn’t believe in, hoping he wouldn’t be approached.
“Excuse me,” Called out a shrill voice.
He spoke too soon.
“I couldn’t help but see you here all aloooone. I was wondering if you wanted some….company?” The woman was slurring her words, obviously intoxicated. She got closer to Gerard, soon enough rubbing up on him.
Gerard rolled his eyes; he knew she would leave him alone easily. “Sorry, not interested.”
The woman pouted at his response and stumbled away. Gerard shook his head and sighed. There was nothing wrong with her, (well aside from the fact that her boobs were spilling out of her dress, which definitely didn’t look very comfortable considering it was size 0 and the woman looked more of a 3) it’s just that Gerard wasn’t interested in women. There was just nothing he found very…attractive about them. He knew he was gay from a young age, and there weren’t many problems with that. Maybe the occasional person calling him a “fag,” but other than that, it was pretty accepted. That and most people stopped caring once he turned 18.
But he was here for a reason, and that reason was not to take someone home. He was here to drink his sadness away. It’s been exactly one year since the crash and 2 years since the disappearance. Gerard wanted to forget, at least for the day. He took a deep breath and sat at the bar. The barista walked over and flashed him a smile, “What’ll it be?”
He thought for a second, it took 4 shots to get him tipsy. He was going to triple it. “Twelve tequilla shots please,” he said as he slid the money over the counter. The barista smiled, took the money, and quickly poured him the shots. She slid him some salt and lime, “have fun.”
Gerard stared at the glasses and took a deep breath. He licked the salt off his own hand and downed the first shot. The second he slipped the lime into his mouth, the flashbacks began playing out.

Notes

And here we have my first full on fanfic. Sorry if it's a bit crappy. The story is basically a series of flashbacks and the rating will probably change later on. Let me know what you think so far :)
