And You Don't Know A Thing About This Life
Chapter 7
Frank's POV
Last night, Darrel had told me that dad was coming home once a week now instead of once a month. I tried to smile through class, and think, hey my dad who's never home is finally coming over this week, but I can't. It's not like he was my real dad. My real dad was a firefighter, and was sleeping with the angels. My real dad had smiled when I told him I was homosexual, and he actually started talking about all the good looking male celebrities out there. My real dad actually smiled when I was happy.
My mom hadn't gotten her hands on divorce papers since she is in Italy. I wish I was with her, and we would talk about how funny it was when Italian people said, "buongornio!" or good morning. But, I'm with my stepbrother. And now, my stepdad.
Gerard told me to draw something important to me. I wasn't really good at drawing realistic things, but I decided to draw him. His jawline was perfect, which I drew in dark straight lines. His pixie nose was small and straight, and I drew I carefully along with those beautiful eyes of his. As much as I love Gerard, his hair looks like a rat's nest at the moment. Usually, his hair is at layers to his shoulders. But today, totally a rat's nest.
The bell rang and I closed my sketchbook and headed to the door. Evidently, Gerard stopped me. "Frank, we need a guys night out."
"Wasn't that yesterday?"
"Come on, today's a Friday. I'll call your mom and tell her that you'll be with me."
I really wish I could. Darrell would kill me if I didn't come home again. Maybe I could go home and get some clothes and head to Gerard's. "Let me get some things from my house first."
"Do you need a ride to my place?"
"I'd rather walk."
Gerard gave me a slip of paper. "My address, come at whatever time you like, sugar."
He called me sugar. Huh. "Okay, will do."
