Bring Me To Life
Chapter 3
That didn't happen, it's just a little trick of my great imagination. This house is an abandoned complex where I can be alone and no one can bother me, there is no such thing as the supernatural. Everything has an explanation, and my delusional mind happens to explain this. Perhaps I drank a wine while driving (which isn't really safe...) and illusions were just an effect that alcohol gives everybody.
Yes, that's probably what happened.
I rest upon a small sofa, my legs crossed gently above each other. The fireplace warms my skin, and I enjoy the sparking light it passes to me. I watch as the flames grow and shrink when I breathe into it, and examine the vibrant colors that illuminate. Sometimes the smallest things are the most valuable.
Pulling gently at my black hair, I look around the walls, covered in various paintings and art. It's really comfy to stay by yourself and relax. To the side of me, I reach into my bag and pull out a delicacy: Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted in 1917.
If I didn't have one on the ride here, I must have one sometime tonight, and now is a pleasant time to start. Pulling the cork out with the force of my thumb, I inhaled the scent of bittersweet grape with a hint of cranberry. I sampled the wine, to find it as delectable as the scent. I downed at the bottle, and cherished every second.
Before I knew it, the bottle was half empty. Or, as optimists would say, half full. Shrugging to myself, I felt all worries fall behind me like a shadow. Everything was perfect.
"Can I come out now?" I heard, and it seemed like it came from right in front of me.
