I Don't Love You

I stood up and got off the bus. I looked around, looked at all the kids milling up going their way going to their first period. I looked around for Mikey to ask him to take me. But I did not find him or Ray. Instead I saw a boy, a really good looking boy. Now let’s get something straight, I don’t like guys. I’ve always liked girls. But that’s what I thought until I saw this new beautiful guy.

He had a black hair that was all over the place with the tips dyed a beach blonde. I walked over to him wanting to know who he was. I walked up to him.

“Hi,” I said and blushed. I examined him closer. Up close he had beautiful green eyes with them slowly fading into brown. He was also wearing black eyeliner around his eyes, and he had a silver lip ring in. He was mighty cute

Snap out of it Gerard, you’re not gay, I thought to myself. But if I get to know this guy, I very well might be. I sighed at my second person; people gave me weird looks like they had never heard someone sigh. I’ve been to school before, I know they have.

“My name’s Gerard, I’m new and I was wondering if you could show me around?” I asked him. He smiled; he had the most amazing smile. He had dimples and showed his straight white teeth. Up close he was somewhat short; he only came up to my shoulders. A good height to rest my head on top of his if we hugged. Woah! Where did that come from? I mentally scolded myself.

“Hey,” he had such a sweet voice. “My name’s Frank. I would love to show you around, where do you need to go?”

My mind went blank as he smiled at me. I’ve never felt like this to anyone, not even a girl. I shook my head hoping it would clear these thoughts. “Ummm, the office. I need to get my schedule.” He nodded.

“Follow me,” He walked away and I trailed after him looking at everything. The flowers in the courtyard, the trees, and all the people. There were so many people, who knew a school could hold so many people? I sighed, I probably should find Mikey, but that could wait for later.

He finally stopped me in front of a glass wall with the word Office on it. I inclined my head to him in thanks before stepping into the office. I walked up to the secretary. She looked up from whatever secretaries do. Her eyes got wide as she took in my fire truck red hair, I softly smiled at her. She was a little old lady anyway didn’t want to intimate her.

“Yes, how can I help you sir?” She asked me in her sweet old lady voice.

“Oh please don’t call me sir, I’m a whole damn lot younger than you.” I said. “My name is Gerard…” I didn’t know what to day. I don’t even remember my parent’s last name. I guess considering I was fostered, I could use Mr and Mrs. Way’s. “…Way.” That sounded right. Real nice, like it was meant to be.

She looked at me with wide eyes. “Are you their new foster child…?” I sighed and nodded, I was hoping no one was going to bring that up, but you can’t always get what you want. She must have seen something in her eyes because the next thing she told me was, “I’m so sorry, I will go get your schedule.” She stood up and walked over to the printer. She came back and handed it to me I looked it over.

First block- Art (if you don’t know what a block is, instead of having 8 periods you having however many you have they combine them so they are 90 minutes long each)
Second block- Music
Third Block- Algebra 2
Lunch 3
Fourth Block- English
Fifth Block- Gym/Health
Sixth Block- History

I sigh as I look over it, it wasn’t that bad. But could better, at least my two favorite classes were first. I love art and music.

“Do you have anyone to show you around?” The secretary asked me.

“There was a guy named Frank who took me here, but I don’t know where he went.” I told her. She nodded.

“I know who you’re talking about. Hold on a minute I’ll go call him and have him meet you here.” I stared at her in shock; no one has ever done that before. They always told me to go and find my own way. She walked to a phone and picked it up.

“Hello Mr. Wentz, could Frank Iero come to the office….no he is not in trouble…yes he will be coming back…no this won’t be like last time where the fire department has to come…okay thanks bye.” She hung up and looked at me. “Well I guess Frank will be here soon.”

“Ugh right thanks.” I was confused. What the hell did she mean by the fire department coming last time? I decide to ignore it as Frank had just entered the office. He looked over to me and smiled.

“Hello Mrs. Smith, what do you need?” He said sweetly to her, he was so kind to old people. She smiled back to him just as sweetly.

“Hello Frank, I need you to show Gerard around today. Do you think you can do that?” She asked with a joking tone.

He laughed, “I don’t know it sounds like a lot of work,” he turned to me and grabbed my schedule out of my hand. I didn’t really care I was too busy staring at his flawless face. “Well it looks like we have art, music, history and lunch together.” I nodded, at least I would know at least one person in my lunch, I wasn’t sure if Mikey would be there considering he’s a freshman. “Let’s go back to class. Bye Mrs. S!” He shouted as he dragged me down the hall to the art room. Maybe this year won’t be as bad as I thought.
